I met Robert at the FanExpo back in 2014. Awesome guy. I remember him telling me a story ( while autographing my movie poster ), about how he fell asleep in his trailer during filming of a Nightmare movie and when he went to go to the washroom in the middle of the night, he forgot he had his Freddy makeup on. So when he saw his reflection in the mirror it startled him and he scared the crap out of himself!! That would scare me too Robert. Thanks again!! 😂😂👍🏻👍🏻
You have to remember that Robert is a theatrically, trained actor, so he has that sense of charm and class he can easily elude. Meeting him in 2013 at the Spooky Empire horror convention he is a true gentleman and just as down to earth as can be, awesome man and well, just "You are all me children now!!!!!"
Met him last year at a convention and he's such a great person. Willing to take the time w each and every fan. His line for photos alone filled a huge gymnasium sized room, he's a legend.
It's always so weird seeing someone who was such a terrifying character in a film being interviewed, and just being a totally ordinary and nice, and not threatening in the least!! It shows they're a great actor!!
Wes Craven may have created Freddy Krueger but Robert England is what gives Freddy Krueger life and it has been proved on multiple occasions. No one can play Freddy Krueger but Robert England.
It's so nice to hear him say that the most common and favorite reaction from fans he gets is when people tell him how much his roles have meant and continue to mean to them. A few years back my mother and I went to Monsterpalooza in Pasadena California and waited 3 and a half hours in line to see him, we were pretty broke so all we were going to be able to do was talk to him for a few moments and maybe get a picture with him. Well, we walked up and introduced ourselves and my mom said, I just want to say thank you for both teaching me to love Aliens and Scaring the shit out of her when she was 16. He lit up grabbed one of the shots he had of himself when he was on the show V and signed it for her. I asked him outside of doing it once or twice what was his experience like and had he put any real thought to doing voice acting for video games, lamenting my major disappointment when they added Freddy to Mortal Kombat and it was based on the remake and not his. He said well I just got the okay to start talking about it so I'll let you know, I'm voicing the Scarecrow for Injustice Two, and I just about lost it. He was kind, humble, and an all-around joy to experience in person. I would wait in that line all over again for the opportunity to talk to him just one more time.
I can't believe it that Freddy Kruger was the one I was so afraid of as a kid. I used to always have the blanket over my head from childhood all through my teenage years. Now im in my 40's and I laugh about it every time I watch Freddy.
I know this probably might sound strange for some people, but some of my fondest memories was watching these films with my brothers and best friends when I was like 7 years old lol
@christopher carlisle Not strange at all. Some of my best memories are of watching horror movies with my friends and family. I remember first seeing A Nightmare on Elm Street in 2000. I was about 12 years old and had never seen any before. This was the 5th one. Not the best to start out with, but it made me a fan.
Robert England the KING of horror. He wears a crown no man can take from him. He has scared the hell out of me as a kid. Great job robert keep up the good work!
Hoping to meet him next year and sign my 1984 replica glove and shake his hand and say thanks for the childhood memories and nightmares your a legend one of the best and will always be freddy
I love robert and all his movies 😘. I'm a fan nightmare on Elm Street. you can watch it over and over and it won't ever get boring. I love it .i wish i can meet him one day and get an autograph
I went to a 'fan mania' type of event many years ago just to see Robert up close, but, alas, twas not to be. Then, as I walked through the crowd, I spotted someone, I knew that face among the throng - it was Mr Englund himself just walking through the crowd, I polietly asked if I could have one moment of his time, he not only obliged me for a free photo, he also did his 'Freddy' voice while flicking his hand up like he had the glove on! Easily one of the greatest moments in my life! Thank you Robert - btw, I was so hungover that day and never expected to see you.
an absolutely iconic actor and a person. i randomly met him in a shop once. i told him he quite literally traumatized me for life and as a 32 year old i still have nightmares about Freddy Krueger. nonetheless, you cant find a nicer, kinder person than Robert. an ICON!🤣🤣🤣🤣
I bought Robert englund's autobiography book and went to a horror bookstore that he was doing a signing at. I told him the influence that the nightmare on elm Street series had on me and that I became a horror writer because of that series among others. He looked me right in the eye and said that a human being wrote Nightmare on elm Street, and I was a human and I could write the next nightmare on elm Street. Then he took a giant red sharpie marker and wrote in the copy of the book that he wrote, sweet dreams and signed his name. He asked me if I wanted to take a picture. Of course I said yes. Then he put on a replica glove and we posed for the picture. Anyway it was a very cool moment because it was like having Freddy Krueger himself say that I could follow my dreams riding horror. Haha. Anyway it was very special.
Robert Englund is the best! With do another L.A A horror convention last time the wait was 1hr 30 min and they cut a lot of people off if they weren't in line by a certain time! 2 days wasn't enough for all the fans he has we need another one with him.

Such an icon that had an impact on me in a way where I had everyone associated with me become fans. I wore the Freddy outfit/costume even when it wasn't Halloween lol chased my friends and family members, will have memories for a lifetime thanks to this saga
@@IAmTheBigBoy New lins as already been given permission to film another film. Robert Englund himself made a statement that fans will be excited and to wait and see
I met him when I was a teenager. He came to the wild adventures theme park in the very south of Georgia to sign autographs and have your picture taken with him and it was one of the best experiences I ever had. Which is also the same amusement park where the filmed ZOMBIELAND back in late 2008 to early 2009. But yeah, meeting Robert Englund was a very honorable and great moment. I also met Kane hodder at a convention in Florida last year and he too was a great guy to meet and I had a great conversation with him and meeting him was the same as well, honorable moment. So therefore, I met both Freddy and Jason which is outstanding. Now I'd like to meet one of the guys who played Michael Myers, because he's my number 1 favorite killer of the horror/slasher genre.
Ya know to think his character was to scare the crap out of people and kill and torture but yet the man behind the make up seems like such a nice down to earth guy. It’s amazing how people can become different roles entirely

He speaks his lines quickly while adding a gravely tone to his voice then they play it slower which makes it deeper according to him in past interviews.
The first time I saw what he looked like without the make-up I was astonished how friendly and benign he looked. I thought that guy played that utterly terrifying looking character? I still can't believe how menacing he looks in the first one.
Robert Englund has to be the coolest guy in Hollywood. It kinda sucks because after seeing him like this, it's hard to take his Freddy character seriously anymore. He's just too much of a nice guy.
