This is history in the making. God bless the older sessions which paved the way for Country music's popularity.

These boys were really cut from a different cloth ... Hank roger Miller merle George ... There's to many to mention but man I really miss REAL country music! There's still a few boys doing the best they can now but I wish the music was still Really ALIVE.

You admitting that you'd love to have this talent tells me you have talent just not discovered😎

I love the original folk version with Anita Carter singing it absolutely the best. Cash had a large record buying base built up for years and that's why his "pop" version sold so many records. After listening to the original version Johnny's version is hokey, The horns do nothing for the song IMHO. But that's just one mans opinion. And from what I was told Anita Carter came up with the melody and never got credit.

Johnny and Merle wrote the song on a boat together. The only role June had in the song was that the "ring of fire" was a little part of her. Johnny paid Merle to always say June wrote it with her so Vivian couldn't get money from the song.

What? Why did he give it Anita then?

Nope, that's what his ex wife said. She was trying to slander June Carter

And you believe that? She's a fool if she believed that. Johnny Cash told her many lies and I'm sure that was one of the many he told her. He just didn't want her to know the truth and she didn't want to accept it either. The song was first sung by June's sister, so that story doesn't even make sense.
