  • How To: Implement A Barcode System Into Your BrickLink Store
    In this video you can see how we, here at Just A Brick In The Bucket, have implemented a barcode system in our store to not only make the part-out process more efficient but to also help reduce the number of mistakes possible when assigning remarks (drawer numbers) to each piece while parting it out into your inventory. If you have any questions, please leave a comment, or email us and we will help you get a barcode system set up in your store. All the products seen in this video can be purchased below.

    My son has loved Lego since the age of 5. He started a little business at the age of 12 by setting up lego displays for Community Events etc, his show was called Master Brick Kid. (Only advertised on Facebook) He started to get many bookings, but due to covid, he had to shut it down. Now he is interested in selling lego on brick links. He is a collector too, so he has priced pieces, but is willing to sell his bulk lego. Your videos are helpful and we are both learning as much as we can before we start. Your Team is Awesome Teachers.

    Thanks for showing this in depth, great tutorial. I can see how it might improve errors but not convinced on the time-saving. Between constantly picking the scanner up and having to navigate with the keyboard I can't imagine a significant time-saving.

    What does it reads when you scan a Lego barcode? Would that be helpful?

    Thank for sharing. Can we assign a product to an Agent who is off to deliver the product?

    I have the Akro-Mils storage drawers, but have never seen the dividers before. Are dividers sold separate? Love the barcode system and thanks for link

      Yes, the dividers are sold separately. Here are the ones that we purchase, even though they are quite pricey:

    Going way back into your channel. How did you manage to get a team to do this together? Been trying to find a partner and no luck

    really like your video and always looking for time saving technique. So if I am parting out a set and I generally would put each lot in a drawer and write the drawer number in the remark section on BL, could I click on the remark on one lot and scan the drawer and that would be it. Sorry for the long question, just trying to see how this actually saves time.

    • @JustABrickInTheBucket
      @JustABrickInTheBucket  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is exactly how it works. You click into the remark field, then scan the barcode and it types in the remark for you. Then you click the next remark field, and repeat.
      It is important to be sure that your barcode scanner is set to enter a "tab" after the scan, not set to enter an "enter"

      @@JustABrickInTheBucket Will the TAB go to the next remark or just the next valid text box?

    • @JustABrickInTheBucket
      @JustABrickInTheBucket  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pixelated.dreams At the moment, it will only go to the next valid text box, in the case of BrickLink this means the Qty field. We are coding a program, that when turned on, takes the tab input and jumps 14 fields later, meaning, this does go to the next field, but it involves some extra stuff. By default, it will not go to the next remark, and must be clicked on manually. Still, no keyboard involved, and no chance of error unless you scan the wrong drawer. Thanks for watching!

      Akro-Mils drawers

      @JustABrickInTheBucket  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Akro Mils. I recommend you use a price tracking software like camelcamelcamel to watch for deals. When this video came out we bought them for about $20 each. Now they go for up to 70. Every few weeks they drop to $40.

    Not sure what I am doing wrong. I've downloaded BCStudio, imported my CSV to create the barcodes, and selected the Avery 5267 label. The preview screen shows them all grouped in a small corner, and when I print, nothing prints. Suggestions appreciated. Thanks
