This man is the purest embodiment of those beautiful "no matter how dumb you believe your question is, please ask it.. I promise it's more interesting and complex than you think" type of teachers
Her short monologue spiral of dualism posing the question of solipsism, landing finally on "are you thinking therefor you am right now?" Is genuinly the smartest joke thats ever been on television.
To this day, I still can't understand how we are supposed to believe that God is good after Jesus personally caused so much hurt to Paul. All the theologists in the world haven't even began to try and answer that question
Of course all the theologists haven’t tried to answer that question, because there is not a single theologist on Earth in the first place. A few theologians have talked to Paul about his intentions to kill Jesus though.
The question at 45 seconds is pretty deep, its kind of about doing things serially one at a time vs batching them up and pipelining them. Depends on if you want to do deep thoughts at maximum throughput or with minimum latency. Good job Cunk.
Philomena desperately trying to bemuse and tease this guy but to no avail! This one is a really tough nut to crack LMFAO I love Mr. Hedley's posh accent. So soothing
I think what you’re referring to is vocal range, not texture. In answer to your question, I’m pretty sure he’s a bass. As far as the quality (we could even say texture) of his voice, it is very full and rich in part because it’s in a lower range. (That isn’t to say that higher male or female voices aren’t full or rich, but deep male voices are well known for those qualities.)
@@user-qd3fm8te8o but in a philosophical sense he might as well be responsible because the book itself says the "works are mysterious" and that by definition puts Paul's situation outside our realm of understanding
"Professor, is there such a thing as a question much too silly to be asked or is it indubitably true that the dumbest question is the one that goes without being asked?"
If I think therefore I am is true, When it comes to smoking a bit of weed or indulging in alcoholic 🍻🍷 drinks or...both... to the point where my thinking is compromised or dulled beyond what it is normally, could Day Carts principle be also expressed thus: I think slow therefore I am slow?
Descartes believed that your body and mind were like a cart and a driver. He believed that the mind is "You", but You need your body to live and experience the world. Drinking or doing drugs is like driving a cart through mud, which doesn't really harm the driver, but it does make it a lot harder to get where you want to go and do what you want to do.
The guy isn't quite right about "I think therefore I am" Descartes postulated that if you systematically stripped beliefs about which there was any uncertainty, eventually you would only be left with the knowledge that the only thing you can be sure about is that you are thinking, which is therefore the characteristic that defines your experience and identity.
@@lukereilly9844 Sort of, it's a good summary of Descartes' method. The professor points in the direction of the rest of epistemology, sidestepping @thevorace's (and Cunk's) solipsistic intuition.
i always took it to mean , what is the indisputable thing that must be true, your consciousness, the very nature of it being, means it exists ,everything else is a product of your senses and reason, which can be flawed but how do logically rebuild the external world in a rationally consistent form, which is similar to what you said
at 2:17, i finally figured out why philomena is such a genius and eloquent lady, because she befriends individual like Paul, who would commit assault towards Jesus if he ever met Jesus in person. ahahah..........
She just play mega dum, she clearly is a freaking super knowledgable genius comedian with a crazy wit and great acting skills and all the rest, and I am pretty sure it's all intended, studied and researched for hours to find the right angles to bring them to say want she want, to find the perfect puns, jokes etc, but she also improvise super well I bet.

In the first 10 seconds, this guy embarrassed himself before she even started asking him silly questions. The Arabic used in the Quran often doesn't form either complete sentences or thoughts. The stories in the Quran often don't even make sense on their own since usually they are only a partial often confused commentary on stories taken from other sources (e.g., the Old and New Testament, the Talmud, Gnostic writings, and Alexandrian mythology)
Okay a month late, but I think you're missing the joke. She says the word Quran wrong, he corrects her with the correct pronunciation, and then she takes that to mean the Quran is better.

He was brilliant! Indeed.
I love how he manages to take her absolutely ridiculous questions and still find some kind of academic angle for his response. 😂
“If I ever see Christ again he’s a dead man.” is a line I’ll take with me to my grave.
Every time she begins with "my mate Paul", I get super excited because I know we're in for something good
My favorite is, “my mate Paul once ate ketamine brownies and believed he could telepathically communicate with animals on the television.

exactly. i wonder what the vocalists technically call this type of voice
Very posh voice he has there
He should do guided meditation recordings the world would be a better place. 😅

I think this man may be the closest to ever getting to see her to break character, I don't think she was ready for how ready he was
