I've had my iPhone 7 for three years now. Though it is definitely livable it does have its fair share of issues. I am a pretty heavy phone user though and it should be fine for the average person. My pain problem is the overheating. During phone calls I often have to take my phone case off to let it cool down. It actually gets to the point where it could burn me. It also only has 86% battery health so it has to throttle the cpu slowing it down even more. It's also only 32gb. Soon i'm going to inherent a family friend's iPhone 11 pro with 512gb and I cant wait.
im watching on my iphone 7. got it when i was 16 & im now 21. i love how light & thin it is, touch id, home button & that it has an aluminium back!! ive dropped my phone countless times over the years and i have never ever used a case. i need an upgrade bc of my battery and the camera, but the new glass back is the stupidest thing they couldve ever thought of - although it makes them a whole lot of money.

I’m typing this on my iPhone 7. I’m actually still on the original battery and can make it through the whole day as long as I’m not on it constantly. Overall for just web browsing, texting, and TH-cam it still feels fast enough. I’ve considered getting an SE2 if I ever do decide to replace it, but for $400 that phone seems way overpriced and is pretty much 2 years old at this point. Hopefully they’ll make an SE3 with the A14/A15 chip
Hello, they did announce SE3 with A15 chip. Honestly, I don’t think it’s worth it. The power of the chip isn’t used fully on iPhone, except the speed for gaming/browsing. And the battery for such power is still, no bueno. I feel like battery gonna drain fast
My sister got the 7 a month ago, she’s really happy with it. I went from 7 to 11 recently for two reasons, the battery had gone bad and I didnt want to replace it, and I wanted a slightly bigger phone 😊
I ordered a refurbished 7 from back market on January 3rd of 2022. I bought it because I think it’s the nicest, thinnest, most badass designs apple ever made. I bought it specifically to daily drive it because I only use a cell phone for texting, calling, and email usage with a little TH-cam here and there. So it came from back market with a brand new battery, the outside condition is close to brand new. And it’s the nicest, matte black finish I’ve ever seen. Absolutely nothing is wrong with this phone in 2022. An with a new installed battery running iOS 15.2 i sometimes don’t even charge it at night and I wake up with it just barely past 97%.. if you want just a simple iPhone that works, get the 7. But if you are on of these ungrateful, hipster, picky ass people. Then by all means go spend a thousand on a iPhone that runs the same software as the iPhone 7 hahah.

Apple is notorious for having some rather overpowered chipsets in their phones (An iPhone 7 can beat quite a few non flagships in 2022 in terms of performance, and the thing was made 6 years ago!). The sleek design is something that made the older iPhones cool looking in my opinion
If you still have it, keep it until you actually need to upgrade. If you wanna save money ofc. If you want to upgrade and are not upgrading from the 7, then buy a newer model like the 8/8plus, se or the x/xs. If you want to upgrade from the 7 then that’s fine. Your phone your choice.
i still have an iPhone 7 with ios 14.8, surprisingly after updating the software it's still fast and reliable but I have to change my battery because my battery capacity is %78. I hate newer iphones that does not have a home button. I love my Iphone 7

I have the seven and 13 mini. I’m on my 7 right now, and I’m fine with it. My 13 is much more convenient and quick, and has a much better battery life, but I don’t mind either.
Mine is now 5 years old, still using ios 10 and works like it's a new device, the only thing I need to do is replace the battery and I'm gonna use it for another 5 years if it will work for that long time, great phone overall.
Found my old 7 in my drawer the other day I forgot the password typed it in so much had to reset it on iTunes works like a charm runs so much better than my old phone did

Great video! My husband has always been an iPhone person and has always had a 7. I got him the SE 2 as a gift. I’ve always been an android person and loved my LG G7 but without a security patch since September 2020 and no planned major future updates (it’s stuck on android 10), I switched to his old iPhone 7. I love it. I love the 3D Touch, iOS 15 finally having widgets…my last iPhone was an SE 1 and I loved that phone. My only gripe is that this phone doesn’t have a headphone jack which is annoying because my LG had a hifi qdac with DTS Surround which sounded great on my Shure SRH440’s. That’s ok though. I still use it as an iPod essentially. I’ll upgrade to a newer iPhone down the line. Thank you!

my mom bought an iphone 7 in 2016-2017. last year she gave it to me and now it’s mine. it still works!! but i haven’t been able to upgrade it lately cuz i barely have any GB left. also the battery capacity is 67%, maybe cuz my mom was on it all the time and never turned it off. i’m lucky to have this phone but i wish one day i’ll get a newer one.
When they launched the first red iphone 7, my husband bought it for me. Still have it to date! My toddler is using it now! We will have the battery fix soon. So far it is still good 👍 😊

I still use mine 😎 put new battery and it’s not big difference between newer models it costed me 65$ I’m glad and thankful to own it in 2022. It has iOS 15.4 ain’t lags it’s very handy.

I miss the separate fingerprint reader. A lot better than my Samsung in-screen reader. Like a LOT better. Like 20 times better. It always got my fingerprints, right away, first time, every time. My new in-screen reader regularly takes 2 or 3 shots.
I bought one second hand, signed up to icloud. However, it keeps saying my password is wrong, and it isn't. I want to delete icloud and following instructions, but cannot discover a delete button at all. I tried to sign out, but need my password to even do that. I can only download stuff going through icloud/apple and now pulling my hair out
had a samsung a30s, bought an iphone 7 in amazing condition for 60$ from a neighbor, gave the samsung to my disabled sister can't complain i don't use my phone as much as i do use my ps4 (yeah still love my ps4 pro) and pc, so the ip7 does the job for me

Hardware from 2014, 2015 and even 2016, the iPhone 6S/6S plus, iPhone SE 1, iPhone 7/7 plus, iPad mini 4 ,iPad Air 2 are generally getting dropped. iPhones from 2017 or newer are generally being supported.

I would say playing games watching videos etc isn't bad lol it is not laggy, the protection of my screen is broken so the touch doesn't have a really good quality. Because of that a lot of my friends have been asking me how can I use this old broken iphone 😂😂. I got used to the broken screen and now it isn't a problem anymore. I know iphone 13 12 etc does have good new features, and old iphones like mine don't but I am happy to keep this cutie against me 🤭 I don't know what a good iphone battery is. But my iphones battery isn't bad 😅 It is normal, not fast not slow. I have the iphone 7 its really good for gaming youtube everything with its A10 fusion chipset is excellent battery life is decent it takes like 3 ir 4 hours for it to die but if i take break from the phone it would get like 6 hours so yeah battery life is decent performance is excellent i dont care if it’s unsupported with software its still getting security updates i got this phone this phone a few months ago its perfect phone that has decent battery life
@@user-eo9to7wd2t I upgraded from 7 to 13, and 13 is bigger than 7, not practical yet, so I recommend that you take 13 Mini, the dimensions are very similar to 7, and you get a bigger screen.
It means the battery is degraded or degrading meaning (mine does the same thing) you need a new battery or a new phone but trust I talked to someone who worked at apple and she said it’s not worth it to change the battery so keep the 7 and get a different phone and use the 7 for a second back up phone which I’m doing rn

No, my biggest complaint is Apple Podcasts will need like 8 minutes to load and refresh my podcasts and the battery (at 70something % health) will last like an hour and a half before it's at 0%. The camera is great as always, but it does leave much to be desired when trying to take contrasty artistic-like photos. Safari is kinda slow too. The phone is impossible to break. The selfie cam is trash. Also, when talking a photo, you'll have to wait like 5 seconds before it finishes processing it. I like the form factor so an SE may suit me ( I enjoy how it feels in the hand ). The mini feels off to me, but I'd still like to try it out.
Also, I recently changed the font size to the minimum... And it's been great, the phone feels big, almost like a 7 Plus, and many apps seem to work faster (it may be placebo though).
On the battery, at night, if you don't leave it charging it will drop from 100% to like 80% and the phone will randomly shut off once you fall under 30%. If you use it occasionally through the day, it might be OK. But streaming a video for an hour will drop the battery to 10-20 %.
Still a bit to young wait till she hits her teen stage 13 - 15 a child that young don't need a phone at lest when she's a teen she will have friends to contact to

as someone who was upgraded from the iphone 7 around 3 months ago i cant lie it was a hella good phone the camera was very good for its age and it never really had any problems apart from now in 2022 with a 2016 phone bigger games can be a bit laggy and ofc its a 2016 phone so it will slow down a bit and lets not talk about the fact it wont get ios updates soon its alright for a first phone for a kid but for a adult ish person i would say nah

@@Bignfluffy I actually sold my iPhone 8. I personally like Samsung Galaxy phones better such as the Samsung Galaxy S21 ultra as my primary phone. It seems like Samsung has gotten better with their support lifespan starting with the S10 putting it at least on par with Apple.

I miss the separate fingerprint reader. A lot better than my Samsung in-screen reader. Like a LOT better. Like 20 times better. It always got my fingerprints, right away, first time, every time. My new in-screen reader regularly takes 2 or 3 shots.

I bought one second hand, signed up to icloud. However, it keeps saying my password is wrong, and it isn't. I want to delete icloud and following instructions, but cannot discover a delete button at all. I tried to sign out, but need my password to even do that. I can only download stuff going through icloud/apple and now pulling my hair out

After my sister got another 'better' iphone, i have been using her iphone 7 after using my old iphone SE. I am glad to hear my phone is not considered old shit XD Cuz I have seen many new iphones, it made me jealous of people having great iphones 😅 (i don't have enough money to buy a new phone) so I tried to make my phone cool 😂 and we'll... I would say playing games watching videos etc isn't bad lol it is not laggy, the protection of my screen is broken so the touch doesn't have a really good quality. I have the iphone 7 its really good for gaming youtube everything with its A10 fusion chipset is excellent battery life is decent it takes like 3 ir 4 hours for it to die but if i take break from the phone it would get like 6 hours so yeah battery life is decent performance is excellent i dont care if it’s unsupported with software its still getting security updates i got this phone this phone a few months ago its perfect phone that has decent battery life

@@user-eo9to7wd2t I upgraded from 7 to 13, and 13 is bigger than 7, not practical yet, so I recommend that you take 13 Mini, the dimensions are very similar to 7, and you get a bigger screen.

It means the battery is degraded or degrading meaning (mine does the same thing) you need a new battery or a new phone but trust I talked to someone who worked at apple and she said it’s not worth it to change the battery so keep the 7 and get a different phone and use the 7 for a second back up phone which I’m doing rn

No, my biggest complaint is Apple Podcasts will need like 8 minutes to load and refresh my podcasts and the battery (at 70something % health) will last like an hour and a half before it's at 0%. The camera is great as always, but it does leave much to be desired when trying to take contrasty artistic-like photos. Safari is kinda slow too. The phone is impossible to break. The selfie cam is trash. Also, when talking a photo, you'll have to wait like 5 seconds before it finishes processing it.
I like the form factor so an SE may suit me ( I enjoy how it feels in the hand ). The mini feels off to me, but I'd still like to try it out.
Also, I recently changed the font size to the minimum... And it's been great, the phone feels big, almost like a 7 Plus, and many apps seem to work faster (it may be placebo though).
On the battery, at night, if you don't leave it charging it will drop from 100% to like 80% and the phone will randomly shut off once you fall under 30%. If you use it occasionally through the day, it might be OK. But streaming a video for an hour will drop the battery to 10-20 %.
