Hiya Joe, I qualified 21 years ago and Ive found myself glued your series of videos. I can always remember my eyes glazing over in college all those years ago, on some ac theory lessons including this! You are so good at explaining and making what was once a seemingly difficult topic, easy! If only you were my tutor back then!!! I think the beauty of these videos is you can pause and rewind until it sinks in, pausing and rewinding is difficult when your sat in a classroom! Keep up the good work Joe👍

Thank you Joe. With Covid-19 closing college, online teaching isn't going well. I am regularly asked by young apprentices about three phase systems and star and delta configurations. This presentation is a great example to follow, with easy to follow calculations.
Nice and informative video. I just want to add something. Since you are showing a three phase system which is connected in wye (star) and delta that means you are dealing with AC system. When you are dealing with an AC system try to avoid using the “R” (resistance) as loads, use “Z” (impedance) instead. The reason is: in an AC system, resistance is part of impedance. Impedance has two componnents-resistance and reactance. I hope you don’t get offended as you intend this for the beginners. Thanks.
Thanks for all your videos Joe! It's really helping me study for Unit 302! Just spotted on Question 4 at 18 minutes and 30 seconds ------------------- IL= 13.86A as calculated but then you wrote 13.68A
Excellent. Been there done that, but this was a great brush up on the basics, and would be a fantastic resource for guys and gals heading into the electrical industry. Subscribed and will be watching more from your channel. Thanks and Cheers mate.

Nice video Joe! Now. Do you cover calculating the phase angles for balanced Start & Delta's Power Systems? as well as covering unbalanced Star & Delta Power Systems with phase angle calculation's.
my thanks to you, please clarify this, since the current is low in star connection, and more in delta connection, then why the motors are preferred to run in delta connection, using star delta starters.
Hello Joe, nice video... very clear and easy to understand! I have a question... What happens if we have different values of resistances in a star or a delta connection?
Thank you sir. How do you specify the cable for the 3phase current.? Is it by summing up the individual currents of each phase or do specify based on phase current's?
Thanks for the video it really helped. Please how do you know and calculate when a phase current is in phase, lags by an angle or leading the line voltage.
Hi Joe. Do you have a video on verification of 3 phase breakers relating to Zs value from regs book. What formula to use form 3 phase calculation, how to apply to tested value etc.Thank you.
Thanks for the nicely explained video. Can you pls advise about calculation of 3 phase delta connected motor phase current having 100KW capacity, 440V, 3Ph, 60Hz, 0.8 PF

Hello Joe, nice video... very clear and easy to understand! I have a question... What happens if we have different values of resistances in a star or a delta connection?
Fairly simple in a star connected system, you just end up with different currents in the three phases, it's a little more complicated for delta.
Looks like you're slightly ahead with your learners at the moment. Mine will be doing this next week 👍
Hope it's helpful to them as a recap, stay tuned for more!

Thank you sir. How do you specify the cable for the 3phase current.? Is it by summing up the individual currents of each phase or do specify based on phase current's?
Hi Joe thanks for the very helpful video - how can I calculate power consumption of either arrangement (Kw)? Thanks!
