    Thanks Joe. Six months ago this would have Greek to me but having worked my way through your AC Theory playlist I managed to get the answers to these questions on my own before I watched the video. I am absolutely chuffed, thanks to you!

      Such a great comment, it's part of my goal to help people get to a position where they can answer questions like this with little to no previous knowledge. Stay tuned for more!

    I would just like to say, I have watched the ac playlist through to this point and managed to answer all of the questions in this video before you showed the calculation, and I am feeling pretty pleased with myself right now. This is down to the way that you have taught me on the way through. many thanks for putting this online....brilliant....

    I pulled this up as a refresher since it’s been about 10 years since I had my EE course where this was covered this. I must say, I don’t remember it ever being taught to me in the form of drawing out the actual triangle. That was a nice touch to really explain things visually. I just remember punching it into my ti89 and getting (123

    Question about true watts, why don't we consider the XL of the inductor when calculating the watts? I understand it's because it's utilizing inductance and the magnetic field provides a certain amount of impedance, but doesn't the inductor also get hot as a result of power? If it gets hot the doesn't it have a watts component?

    All is cool. But. Why did not we true power multiply cos φ ?

    • @JoeRobinsonTraining
      @JoeRobinsonTraining  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Multiplying by cos theta would give us a smaller number than the true power giving us a circuit that was more than 100% efficient and thus break physics.
