    A gastric bypass is a surgical procedure designed to support an obese patient with weight control. This surgery involves creating a small stomach pouch from the existing stomach and attaching it to the small intestine. During this interactive laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery, you will oversee every aspect of the procedure. When you are finished you will learn important information regarding gastric bypass recovery and gastric bypass diets. Whenever you are ready, scrub in, put on your gloves, and grab your endoscopic camera so we can get started!

    This has been the best surgery I ever had. Not only I lost the weight I wanted but it fixed some other “troublesome” problems that I had like the acid reflux and constipation. It was the best decision I had made in my life and I am very happy about the results of the gastric bypass. This surgery is awesome and indeed a life saver.

    This video was very interesting. I had my gastric bypass about 4 days ago. I feel good. I only had 5 incisions and on this day it seems like they itch a bit, but the pain is getting better and I'm doing well with my fluids. I've already lost 12 pounds since surgery which is amazing and I'm looking forward to continuing success. The video was great. It helped me see what they did to me step by step.

    Had my Surgery 4 weeks ago, was brought back to the ward at 7pm and was walking around at 12am for the toilet, had a great surgeon and only complication was my sugar levels dropped which made me stay in hospital an extra day, only pain killer I had was paracetamol for 3 days as I had a great pain level. on a count of 1-10 mine was 2. Over the week before my operation and up till now ( 5 weeks in total ) I have lost 20lbs
    9lb was lost in the first week and the 5lb more after my operation, the first 3 days, most people put weight back on I was lucky, but then I lost nothing but thats usual.but at the moment its a steady 2lb loss per week.
    The only thing I get at the moment is a lot of wind, and burping but this is normal and will settle.
    I had 7 incisions but not only did i have the bypass i also had my gallbladder out at the same time
    Good luck to those who are getting it done it will beworth it in the end

      I had the bypass surgery on april 19, 2017 ( 2 weeks ago). I'm so worried because I lost 23 pounds in the first week but in the second week I haven't loose any pounds. Is this normal? I'm getting desperate. Don't know what to do.

      This is normal as your body has to go through changes , everybody has a different rate of lose, i am just a week off my 6th month of since surgery and have lost 6 stone but i had a stale mate for 5 weeks where I did not lose anything , last week I have just started to lose weight again. Don`t panic just stick to your healthy eating and follow the guide lines given . hope this helps stem your worries xxx

    My mom had 90% if her stomach removed. Her major organs were dying cause they were not receiving enough nutrients from the 10% left of her stomach. She went from 270 lbs to less than 90 lbs when she passed away from this on May 27, 1980. She was 34 when she passed. If you can lose weight on your own, I encourage you to do it on your own. You will have to modify how you eat afterwards, so why not modify your diet to have this surgery. People that I have talked to has had problems after. So please, do it on your own.

      First and foremost, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. Truly the most unfortunate of circumstances.
      That said, do you have any idea how far this surgery has come in 42 years? Not only the surgery, but the pre-op and post-op care that comes with it? It is not nearly as dangerous as it once was; and even with the dangers it currently has, it is still much better than the mortality that comes with obesity.
      And don't talk to me about "if they can lose it during pre-op, then they can continue losing without the surgery". Clearly you have never met an addict. Nicotine, alcohol, drugs, FOOD. The problem with a food addiction is unlike other drugs, food is absolutely necessary. And sure, we can get by for a month eating healthy and losing weight, but 98% of the time, if we had to continue, we will succumb back to that food addiction.

    • @shamarirose7288
      @shamarirose7288 ปีที่แล้ว

      The sleeve is safer and better long term since you won’t have complications like malabsorption, malnutrition, acid reflux and dumping syndrome which is more common with the bypass. The bypass can cause greater weightloss overall but you’ll be trading higher weightloss for more potential problems long term compared to the sleeve.

    I've been doing some research of my own and I can tell you the numbers of success or half. This is voice type. I've met people who have lost half a lung because of leaks. I've met people who end up in a hospital on a constant basis from bleeding. I've met people who are starving to death and have no energy to enjoy their life anymore. I've met people who have had it done and they gained a little bit of weight back but had no problems. But the numbers that I have met versus what they say online that have trouble or totally crazy. There are more people suffering from this surgery than benefiting from the surgery. I think people who are suffering from this surgery need to start posting it on here. I believe the surgery should be outlawed. There are more more people ended up in the hospital six months to a year from the complications this surgery causes please consider not doing it

    • @nancybrannon3863
      @nancybrannon3863 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is what happened to my mom. Her organs were failing cause she was not getting the nutrients that her body needed to live. I agree it needs to be banned. If people can lose the weight before the surgery cause the doctor wants to see your ambition, by golly you can do it to lose the weight without surgery. If you lose the weight slowly, you will not have to go through the skin removal surgery if you exercise & monitor what you eat & how much. It's a matter of retraining your eating patterns.

      I had it in 2004. I lost from 280 down to 125 in 8 months and have maintained it with no complications or revisions. It's a total lifestyle change. You can either adjust your lifestyle for life or deal with the risks of complications and gaining the weight back. It's not a quick fix and definitely not a walk in the park. There are side effects but the key fact is it's only successful if you change your lifestyle.

      There are a few factors in treating heartburn naturally. One resource I discovered that succeeds in merging these is the Fergs Treatment Crusher (check it out on google) without a doubt the most helpful resource i've seen. look at the unbelievable information .

    I wish you would show one of these for a triple bypass on pump. These are need to watch and having more of these on here would be cool. I'm not a surgical student or anything like that but I do have an interest in the medical field and have no problem with watching these tutorials.

    I scheduled to start my surgery. I dieted for 3 years and excerise I slipped here and there but all do. nothing big. I lost only 10lbs. my doctors said this would be only thing could possibly help it was my choice. my family man and daughter love me way I am but I do not. being tiny my whole life now 5'2 and 269.7 lbs is to much.
    I would like to talk to someone whom has had it done. this scares me alto but if it means a longer happier life with my 4yr old then I will do whatever it takes.

      Juvy Adil I say go at your own risk, I know plenty of people who had the surgery and are fine, and had no experience of any side effect! They lost and/or losing weight and are perfectly healthy, No more; diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, elephant legs, and of course no more obesity.

      Jermeah All this things is you can control it by diet but still you will have a worst side effects that no medecine can relieve it and one day you will just say that huh huh huh.... if i can turn back the time I will never have this kind of surgery. hahahahahh.... its up to you... if you want you can try and just message me one day of the side effects...

    hmm nice vid. Question: Why can't some of the Gas Be pulled out of the stomach to aid in less discomfort After the procedure. I had a hysterectomy that went fine. The incisions didn't hurt a bit. It was the GAS that really does you in.Hard to get out. Pain for days only because of the gas.Over the counter gas relief meds do NOTHING! :-(
