Thank you for such an inspirational vlog. Inspired me to get out walking and to work with the 9 inch circular once again. Also loved the beauty you showed from your walks, the gardens are so detailed and lawns looked manicured. Spring is trying to wake up here but Mother Nature is very slow and it remains so cold for flowers! Looking forward to the next one, I hope you do this for another week.

Thank you for sharing your life with us. I am a mom to a 6 year old, and work full time and my life is very very busy with all the activities. Yes, knitting comes with me to everything: lunch break, gymnastics, library, while my husband drives, out to breakfast. Even if its just a row. I always have something for on the go- Musselburgh hat currently. Its simple and knits up pretty fast between 5-20 minutes every single time I have a moment.

Great vlog for a busy lady. Love how you show off Australia to the other knitters. I am working mostly 2 days a week, no kids at home. I knit anywhere. I taught knitting to students (only 8 in the school), from kinder to grade 6. Its great. Loved your knitting projects. Have a great week & hopefully more knitting time.🤪🧶🧶🧶

Love this video. It’s great to see how other people spend their time. I fit knitting in wherever I can. Trying to get braver about taking it out with me xx

Thank you for another beautiful vlog! I love seeing Australia and all the very different trees and flowers. You live in a gorgeous area. As much as I like to knit, I’ve never been one to take it out with me. I would much rather enjoy it at home when I can totally relax.

Oh yay! Love getting the notification that you have a new video out! ❤ love the sneak peek into your week. I love Ally’s vlogs too! I fit my knitting into my lunch breaks and in the evenings and in the car waiting for kids.

So lovely to see Adelaide and the hills. I can't believe it's been 18 years since we were there last. So hopeful that we can make it back this Christmas or next July. Lovely autumn colors coming on! I wish we could spend October - April in the US and May - September in Australia so I'd never have to have summer (my least favorite season). Enjoyed spending the week with you, Ally!

I've just found your podcast and I loved it, I shall definitely be watching all that you have recorded. I do find I have a lot of knitting time as I'm retired, sometimes life gets busy and less is knitted but on the whole if I'm sat down I'm knitting. xxx

    Dear Ally,
Thanks for this lovely video. It was nice to follow you along the paths you walked, watch you cook and make time for knitting any where you can. I do that too. I don't think I knit a lot, but I'm sure people around me think I do. I would also carry a small project with me anywhere where I know I could knit a row or two.
I know that making such videos takes a lot of time too, your editing is very professional and the way you choose to film is so cool, I love that. So, thank you for taking the time out of your very busy week to film and edit this video for us.
Every time I work on my Habitation throw I think about how you talked about yours and how satisfied you were with it when it was done - and it motivates me to finish mine. It's so huge now! I'm hoping to finish it by the end of the month when we have our Auckland Woolfest - I'll have it hanging above my stall, wouldn't that be cool?
Take care, lovely lady and hope you will surprise us with another lovely video soon!
    Greetings from New Zealand,
    Marina

That was a lovely watch. I'm gradually getting more at ease about knitting in public though still self conscious!

You're welcome! Its a great pattern isn't it! I don't bother re-orienting on the last row of the rib, but you certainly can if you wish. I usually knit the twisted stitches through the back loop on the first round after the combination knit rib.

I don’t have any issues with knitting wherever I may be. As for knitting time I have a sock project in the car to work on if I get to work early (knitting in car and listen to my audiobook). I get 30 mins for lunch and May read a few pages of my book or knit. My best knitting time is in the evening when I’ll get a couple of hours then I’m in bed at 9.30 to read for a bit. I work 76 hours p f/night with an RDO and have the family and home stuff to fit in. I also started a knitting/crochet group a couple of years ago and we catch up on a Saturday for a couple of hours-so overall for everything I’m managing I’m really happy with my output.

It sounds like you've found a good balance of knitting time amongst your busy schedule. Your weekly knitting/crochet group sounds like a lot of fun!

What size needles and stitches do you do your socks for DK weight ?

    • @FibreBound
      @FibreBound  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

I use a 3.25mm/US3 for my DK weight socks, they literally fly off the needles when I don't get distracted by all the other projects!
