Thanks a lot for posting this video. As a paulistano myself, I feel glad when people come to visit my city and discover a the hidden gems this place has. São Paulo is a great city to explore. Of course it has all the problems that one would expect from a big brazilian city, but there's so much to see and to do that every visitor may find an experience to fill their own tastes. It's a city for everyone, only shadowed by the typical beach and forest circuit in Brazil.
Great Job... Been to São Paulo several times... you nailed it on the head.... definitetely the most underated city in the world... and I have been to over 70 countries...
Hi guys! So sad you had only 2 days to visit the city. As you discovered, there are many surprises once you learn to see it beyond the first impressions like pollution, traffic jams, messy urban planning etc. There is a diversity (in a broad sense of the word) that is not so obvious to the eyes of a first-timer and in my personal opinion, that's the greatest thing about São Paulo. I don't know if you visited but you're probably the first travel bloggers I found that didn't list Avenida Paulista and Rua Augusta on the places to visit. They represent well when I talk about diversity. Avenida Paulista might seem just a big avenue with skyscrapers and cars but there are many cultural centres, museum, bookstores, shops, street artists, street food gatherings, etc, different styles and periods of architecture in the buildings, going from early 1900s mansions to modern 2010s high rises. Every sunday is shut down for cars and becomes a big open park, similar to what happened in Times Square. Mirante 9 de Julho, behind MASP museum, is another interesting cultural centre that is worth a visit. It's an old early 1900s scenic lookout that was abandoned for 70 years, "sandwiched" between a car bridge and two tunnels, until last year as it opened again to the public, there is a cafe and a restaurant and cultural events. A very surreal place but very cool, very São Paulo! In Rua Augusta along the entire street you will also find a great diversity. On one side it's more posh and conservative, with fancier shops and restaurants, going to the other end which is closer to downtown you will find the complete oposit for it's more alternative with hypsters, hookers, middle class youngsters all together and a big variety of shops, bars, restaurants and night clubs. This city has so many hidden surprises that is worth more visits. I hope you guys come back more often. See ya!
Thank you very much! We felt we could have used at least 3-5 more days to really cover the city more properly. You make a great part about the city being very diverse.
São Paulo é de longe a maior cidade das Américas! Tem mais habitantes que todas as outras metropoles do sudeste e nordeste JUNTAS! Um verdadeiro Golias!
I´m so glad to see this video, this made me, as a Paulistano, very pround about my city and these lot of cool stuff that the city bring, not just for us locals citiziens, but also for tourists, I love big cities, and me as a guy that traveled for more that 44 cities and 9 countries, I can claim that is one of the best ones, nowdays I work in a front desk in Hotel in São Paulo, and I love to give all this tips about my city for my foreign guests, and for brazilians guest that come from another states, most of times, they come just for bussiness issues, but eveybody can enjoy a lot this amazing city!
Thanks for this informative vlog. My best places in Sao Paulo : Ibirapuera Park,Municipal Market,Paulista Avenue ,Municipal Theater, terrace of the Italian Building, Batman Alley,Liberdade,Botanical Garden,Catavento, Science Museum.

U shall visit the countryside and the coast of San Paulo. There are great cities to visit like Guararema, Campos do Jordão, Santo Antonio do Pinhal, São Bento do Sapucaí, Ubatuba, Ilha Bela, Cananeya, Barra Bonita, Itu, Salto, Aguas de Lindoya, Aguas de São Pedro, Aguas da Prata. In the metropolitan region of São Paulo there are 2 cool places named Santana do Parnaíba and Paranapiacaba.
There's a version of pão com manteiga with cream cheese (actually, with requeijão, which tastes a little bit different than cream cheese - I would say better - but consists basically on cream made of cheese). They make the normal bread with butter and, once the bread is roasted, they add a generous amount of requeijão and toss it on the pan again, just for enough amount of time to get a crispy layer on the surface, followed by a second layer of molten, warm requeijão. You have to ask for "pão na chapa com requeijão". It may not be as traditional as the older version, but specially in São Paulo has become a trend and can normally be found almost in every bakery. You you should try it next time you come to São Paulo :D
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos Oh yeah I enjoyed so much! I’m even planning to go back to Brazil next year😀. Where in Japan you recently visited? It’s very hot right now, summer season😰😰😰
Congratulations! I miss my city very much, hope to be in São Paulo again soon. You did a very good travel guide; you visited some of the most awesome stuff to do in São Paulo in two days! If someday you come back there, do not miss the infinite nightlife with bars and pubs and shows, and of course a good walk on the Paulista Avenue region.
Thank you very much! Where do you live now? I wish we did have a few more days and when we're back again we'll be sure to check out more of the nightlife scene.
Samuel and Audrey I'm living in Italy, but I'll come back to Brazil now in December! Yeah, come back and enjoy! Don't miss the pubs around the Paulist Avenue and the bars in Vila Madalena!
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos I stayed in São Paulo at my friends house and I went many places. Avenida Paulista, Mercado Municipal, Ibirapuera, Aparecida(Cathedral), Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana, Ipanema, Christ the Redeemer n a lot more😊
I recommend you to visit the uptown, the extreme South Zone mainly. We've got a remnant Atlantic forest and indigenous tribes living there. (sorry for the bad grammar)
Museu Catavento in São Paulo is really cool. At Liberdade there is a museum of the Japanese history, and in the weekends there are stands with crafts and food! Right now because of the pandemic I don't know how it is...
It's really cool to see Samuel tasting the food. He passes the pleasure perfectly, when he is eating something.
Dear Samuel and Audrey Your travel videos are an absolute delight. Well filmed, pleasantly commented, refrehingly informal and a real treat to watch. Keep up the good work. Yours,
Hey, I love watching your videos to help me choose next cities to visit!! It's a pleasure seeing you guys at my hometown, besides that, I recognized Andre (7:30) which was my co-worker almost 10 years ago!! You guys are so unique, I never had seen a video about a tourist eating "Pão na chapa" with "café com leite" , even some locals dislike that because is TOO LOCAL hahah, amazing job!!
OMG! I can't believe in my eyes! I just found out your channel as I was looking for things to do and restaurants to go in Glasgow, since I'm intending to go there as an exchange student next year, and now I see a video of you showing my city (although, I live in Salvador) and both of you having fun there. I'm glad you enjoyed it and that Glasgow video of yours may be helpful to me. Thanks a lot and success. Subscribed.
Vou deixar algumas sugestões de visitas para quando vocês voltarem para São Paulo. 1 - Cemitério da Consolação. 2 - Parque Estadual da Pedra Grande. 3 - Parque Estadual do Jaraguá. 4 - Jardim Botânico de São Paulo. 5 - Templo Zulai. 6 - Praça do Por do Sol. 7-Paranapiacaba. 8 - Edifícios Martinelli e Altino Arantes. 9 - Catedral da Sé. 10 - Solo Sagrado de Guarapiranga. ...

Hey guys!! How are you?! I really love watching your videos!! Thank you!! And by the way I ‘ll definetly watch the ones that you have downloaded recently!!! 🙋♀️✌️
Thank you both so much for your great videos! Very enthusiastic travellers and very in- the- know, too :-) Looking forward to visiting this November, hopefully
Greetings from France and England , keep up the good work guys, we are using your guides to help plan our trip to South America early next year ! ( I think we are going to have to lose a couple of stones first as we don't see ourselves coming back skinny ;)
I am going to visit South America in April 2017. Starting from Rio and down the coast, all way to Buenos Aries. I will be visiting other cities in Brazil and Uruguay.
you guys should have gone to Rua Augusta, which is a street famous for its nightclubs and cheap bars. It has a night place for any kind of person. Visiting the city during carnival is also a great idea. São Paulo has lots of street party parades, called "blocos de rua" besides the official carnival parade, that happens in Sambódromo do Anhembi. Both are great options for having fun, drinking and enjoying the city :)
Rua Augusta has it all. You will find every type of restaurants and nightclubs with your favorite style of music and also strip and whore houses with the finest in SP. A must go when visiting São Paulo.
That's such a nice video. That's the biggest city under the equador line and, still, you were able to summarize what do on it so well in such a short time span :)
Nice video, but Mercadão (Big Market)is a tourist trap. Next time go to the Estadão bakery not far from there. Great and cheap place. Also try comida de fazenda(farm food) a mix of regional food from differents parts of the country.
OMG GUYS! Are you here still! It was a very smart move to get friends to show you around. São Paulo is huge and its tourist spots aren´t as obvious as let's say Rio or NYC for example and they are many times far away from each other. Its really good you got locals to show you around! Super cool video guys! Sao Paulo really is one of the best places in the world for you to have Sushi and Italian food.OMG guys I'am so happy you were in São Paulo. I can´t to VLOG in Canada, I was there, but in 1997. My sister's been there for yrs and my nephew Zander was born in Calgary where my sister lives. They always come visit, but now its my turn to go! Luv ur Videos of Brazil.Sorry Sao Bento Monastery was under rennovation, its sooooo beautiful inside. You uys didn´t go to Paulista AVENUE! OMG! Hugx u guys!
Thank you very much! I wish we had a bit more time in the city but we were so lucky to have a local friend to show us around. The sushi was simply incredible. I think it is some of the best in the world. I hope we can come back again soon :)
awesome! São Paulo is ace, it isn´t the prettiest city these days. I say its like a teenager with lots of pimples and arms that don´t seem to go with the rest of the body like some teenagers. It was a small city then all of a sudden 7 million immigrants came in in a couple of decades...it went nuts! But it is the funnest city in Brazil with lots to do. :-) thanks for the video!
Samuel & Audrey You guys were not in a Rush sounded more relaxed. I love Aussie Japanese food.. Food is always expensive in Aus.. THere is a place well volunteers make food here for donation and you can donate recipes. Its called www.lentilsasanything.com
Pão na chapa and a snack that many Brazilians eat on the street because it's quick and cheap before going to work, but it's usually something more southeastern
The only thing i have to say is: if one day you guys come back, try the pão de queijo of Minas Gerais. I am mineira and in my point of view, you never ate a cheese bread till you eat our version of it. is awsome.
Hey! I am from São Paulo :) glad you enjoyed your stay! Where else do you guys plan on going in Brazil? It's a huge and incredibly beautiful country, but if I had to make a list of unmisseable places those would have to be the Iguaçu falls, parati (make sure to have a boat ride to nearby beaches while in there, they are amazing), the historical cities in Minas Gerais (ouro preto, tiradentes, Mariana, etc), Salvador (seriously, if you have to choose just one more place, go there! The culture and the food are amazing!), lençóis maranhenses (look it up, the landscape is amazing and unique), bonito, the pantanal and the amazon (including the cities of Belém and Manaus!)
*paraty- I misspelled it. Of course, this is only my opinion; as I said, the country is huge, extremely diverse and filled with amazing places. And as you seem to be travelling in june/july, don't miss the saint john festivals! They have amazing food and music, and are usually so colourful!
Thanks for the awesome suggestions! Unfortunately, we're only getting to Rio and SP this time around but we'd love to do a much bigger trip in Brazil sometime in the future.
Very good video. Would you consider doing videos where you show the prices of a breakfast, a lunch, a cheap hostel, prices of street food, etc? That would help greatly those who are planning to make a trip. Keep the good job! Be safe!
In Brazil the foods are usually too sweet or too salty, the Brazilian government has been campaigning and laws that make the Brazilian eat less and less salt.
Hey! Next time you travel to Brazil, make sure to go to Salvador, in Bahia! It's one of the coolest cities in the country... It's filled to the brim with culture and music, and it's really really colourful. And the food in the state of Bahia is definetely the best in the country- spicy and flavorful and original- and Salvador is probably the best place to taste it! And from there you could go to one of the beaches in the state- they are really beautiful (tho some of them can be crowded and overly touristy, you can find some amazing and more secluded ones)
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos. And the food is the most typical, really...is very good.I recommend acarajé(this one you pratically only find here and have history like the rest of city),moqueca, caranguejo,feijoada... If You like history You could hire a guide in agency and make a tourist tour. Ps:Google it 😉 Pss:Nice video
I noticed the breakfasts are very heavy on breads and sweets. Can you get any egg dishes or meat like sausage/bacon for protein to mix with the carbs? I'm diabetic.
Actually there is a lots of sandwiches, including eggs and stuff, one good choice is the "misto quente", that is Mozarella cheese and ham on a french bread, hot. A good bakery to go is Cepam, on the east side of São Paulo, near São Caetano. btw hope that you all enjoy it when came/come to São Paulo :)
hey, just found your video!..a lot of fun watching you both....im a NYer in NH...girlfriend is from Recife, the northeast tip of BR...been to Rio a few times...hopefully in SP later this year...i will continue to watch your vid...big hello to you both!....-scott
If we have a short layover in Sao Paulo, do you think we should try to leave the airport to see a little bit of the city (or is that not enough time?) we will arrive around 11am on a Tuesday (in August) and we depart at 9pm that same day.
That is a bit tight but if you do arrive on time and you're set to go by noon you could probably arrive in the city by 1:30 and spend 3-4 hours exploring before heading back to the airport.
Thanks heaps for the video, it has a lot of useful information. I'm traveling to Sao Paulo next moth and the video gave me an idea of what to visit. Just a question, did you feel safe walking around the city?
I was 2 weeks in Sao Paulo and I have no idea how you managed to visit all those places in just 2 days haha, it sounds way too intense for me. Would need more time to get a grasp of each thing
got to try the Verdadeira Casa da Mortadela (real house of mortadela). Not for turist like the one in the market. better price and you can acctualy bite it. Av Ipiranga x Av São João
It's one of my goals to visit Brazil
From Canada
Hope you can soon!

Thank you both so much for your great videos! Very enthusiastic travellers and very in- the- know, too :-) Looking forward to visiting this November, hopefully
Thank you very much! I hope you have a great time in SP.
Greetings from France and England , keep up the good work guys, we are using your guides to help plan our trip to South America early next year ! ( I think we are going to have to lose a couple of stones first as we don't see ourselves coming back skinny ;)
Thank you! How exciting. The food is really good over here. Audrey did a better job of managing her portions than I did ;)
Another great video. Thanks. I will be there too.
Thank you! When do you plan to visit?
I am going to visit South America in April 2017. Starting from Rio and down the coast, all way to Buenos Aries. I will be visiting other cities in Brazil and Uruguay.
My home town! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Thank you! We had a great time.
I love Brazil
Cool to hear Daniel!
Awwww you guys are so cute! Glad to know you enjoyed the city :)
you guys should have gone to Rua Augusta, which is a street famous for its nightclubs and cheap bars.
Thank you! Those are some awesome suggestions. I hope we can return again soon :)
It's famous for something else! 😏😏
Hello, Great video, I'm glad to fall here. Greetings from Ecuador and my support for your channel, new friend here.
Thank you very much Carlos! Great to hear from you.
you should also need to go visit the 2 different zoo and get a coconut drink it is so good and there's chocolate it is awesome
Thank you for the recommendation!
What is like to have someone you love around when you travel?
It is great to share the experience Hugo.
Nice video, but Mercadão (Big Market)is a tourist trap. Next time go to the Estadão bakery not far from there. Great and cheap place. Also try comida de fazenda(farm food) a mix of regional food from differents parts of the country.
Really appreciate that suggestion Alan!
Awesome video guys!!!
Thank you very much!
You spent only two days and have seen all of that?!!! Wow! Hope you have enjoyed, but Boy, I need to up my game in my own home city xD
Thank you! To be honest we prefer to explore a lot slower but we kind of turned this into a bit of a mission considering our lack of time.
Visitar é bom.
?
@@samuelandaudrey visiting is good. visiting the country is good.
I’ve been and I have to go back!
Cool to hear!
JAPANESE Food rocks.. Lovely mates... That's the best in this video.. Dears
Thanks! We ate really well there :)
Samuel & Audrey You guys were not in a Rush sounded more relaxed. I love Aussie Japanese food.. Food is always expensive in Aus.. THere is a place well volunteers make food here for donation and you can donate recipes. Its called www.lentilsasanything.com
I ❤ SP
Cool to hear!
Pão na chapa and a snack that many Brazilians eat on the street because it's quick and cheap before going to work, but it's usually something more southeastern
Thanks for letting us know about that!
The only thing i have to say is: if one day you guys come back, try the pão de queijo of Minas Gerais. I am mineira and in my point of view, you never ate a cheese bread till you eat our version of it. is awsome.
Thank you! Oh, we'll definitely have to try that next time :)
Faltou ir no Alianz Parque...
Trancoso, Brasília and Florianópolis are also totally unmisseable!
This video should be named like 20 things to eat in sao paulo hahah
LOL, well we always try to highlight good food to eat in our guides ;)
Very good video. Would you consider doing videos where you show the prices of a breakfast, a lunch, a cheap hostel, prices of street food, etc? That would help greatly those who are planning to make a trip. Keep the good job! Be safe!
Thank you! With our newer guides we're including prices more often. Great suggestion.
Thank you! I will glue to your site as chewing gum
Great valued guide, if I am there I must try all foods specially the breakfast 😘😘
Thank you! Ah, indeed. Hope you enjoy it :)
I've been there several times now, STILL haven't gotten that Mortadella sandwich! One of these times I will!
guys, your videos are great!!!! tks
Thank you very much!
In Brazil the foods are usually too sweet or too salty, the Brazilian government has been campaigning and laws that make the Brazilian eat less and less salt.
Sweet and salty foods sure tasty good but I suppose it is good that people are also being more health conscious. Maybe just once in a while I suppose.
Thank you! Really appreciate the suggestions and I hope we can do that :)
Ps:Google it 😉
Pss:Nice video
I noticed the breakfasts are very heavy on breads and sweets. Can you get any egg dishes or meat like sausage/bacon for protein to mix with the carbs? I'm diabetic.
A lot of hotels offer eggs and ham, and some of them may even offer sausages (not sure about the bacon), and you can get fresh fruit too.
You can find them but they're more catered towards foreigners.
Anything at anytime. Most of the hotels provide it or... u can go to a "lanchonete" and order whatever u like. SP is a trully 24h city.
For breakfast? Isn't that bad for your heart? I mean sausage and bacon
hey, just found your video!..a lot of fun watching you both....im a NYer in NH...girlfriend is from Recife, the northeast tip of BR...been to Rio a few times...hopefully in SP later this year...i will continue to watch your vid...big hello to you both!....-scott
Thank you very much Scott!
That's where I live :) I love here
omg you guys went to a lot of cool places in here lol
+Dayane Oliveira maybe when I visit SP, we can hangout
That's really cool!
We really tried our best...haha It was a busy 48 hours :)
Amei o vídeo! ♡
Thanks!
If we have a short layover in Sao Paulo, do you think we should try to leave the airport to see a little bit of the city (or is that not enough time?) we will arrive around 11am on a Tuesday (in August) and we depart at 9pm that same day.
That is a bit tight but if you do arrive on time and you're set to go by noon you could probably arrive in the city by 1:30 and spend 3-4 hours exploring before heading back to the airport.
hey guys, was a pleasure to share some of our hometown with you
Thanks! We really appreciated you doing that and had a great time with you both. Hope we can meetup again soon :)
O my God, us don't eat desert in breakfast lol, but it's movie is sooooo goooood congratulation.
Thank you! We have a bit of a sweet tooth...lol
I was looking for recommendations for my next trip and when i heard your voices, i said to myself: "wait a minute, ¿Are they?" Jajajaja! Hugs!
Thank you!
Good video
Buen video
Interesante
Where did you have that breakfast at?
another awesome Vid guys. How did you guys commute around SP ?
Thank you! The best way to get around is by metro but we did take some taxis to a few areas where a metro station wasn't nearby.
Awesome.
Great video showcasing the city! What was the name of the Izakaya you visited?
Thanks heaps for the video, it has a lot of useful information. I'm traveling to Sao Paulo next moth and the video gave me an idea of what to visit.
Just a question, did you feel safe walking around the city?
Thank you! We felt safe our entire trip.
Nothing about Avenida Paulista?
We actually just stayed off of there but regrettably ran out of time to film in the area.
Thank you for that tip!
