Beating Every Hollow Knight Boss In A Random Order

- Inspired by a chat recommendation, I decided to embark on a new randomizer idea. Defeating every main boss in the game but in a randomized order. Skips and dashless bosses are allowed so things might get a little crazy.

If you do this again, don't look at the boss order before you start the challenge. That way there is always suspence after each boss to see if you get hornet.

@@geniuspig1748 no, they would get the same list they do now with the same protections against impossible results, but only reveal the list one at a time. It should be doable without risking impossible orders

This is a good idea in theory, but then that requires a lot of backtracking, potentially to areas that might be inaccessible depending on where you leave/go
The way Skurry shouts "AMONG US!" whenever the fountain cutscene plays brings me both despair and joy, these are the reasons I love Skurry

My suggestion for one of them is to save zote, kill nailsmith w/ pure nail and beat NKG to upgrade grimmchild for the first, and then don’t save zote, leave nailsmith be, and instead sacrifice Grimmchild then get Carefree melody for the second
Because some achievements are run specific. Three, in zote’s case. 1 for saving him, 1 for fighting him in collo 1, and the last for beating GPZ
i still have to beat p3, p4, p5, and colo3, and thats not fun

That'd be a pain to program, since the boss randomizer would have to take item rando into consideration. And if rando rando can enable enemy rando, I don't think it would be possible
I meant this more as an end goal. There’s a lot of steps that could be taken in the middle to get to the final hell of basically everything randomized

@@charliebrown544it still could, for example after collector has 3 grubs usually, plus collectors map and I believe only collectors map is considered a boss drop.

Random console and frame rate. Every attack does a random amount of damage
This isn't what you meant but it would actually be cool if there were a mod that could change the player character into different enemies, maybe the last one you killed or something. Imagine trying to beat the game as a tiktik.

@@ze_zamzam Not a route necessarily, but I suggest going for all the abilities first (claw, C-dash, wings, ...) and then just get all the items and stuff in every area like a 112

I'm genuinely impressed with that tool at the start, I had the question of how a random order was going to be beatable and it was answered in the coolest possible way. Next you need to beat all bosses in alphabetical order like the guy who very nearly did so in Dark Souls
Going to be tricky since obbles come before God Tamer but I guess you can get it in godhome?
@@StepperBox You don't have to fight God Tamer in the Colosseum to fight her the pantheon, yeah
Absolute radiance makes this impossible
@@StepperBox you won't get the HOG statue unlocked until you beat her, but you can't do Pantheon 3 until you beat all bosses related to it.. It has GPZ, Hive Knight, Hornet 2 and The collector which should come after God Tamer

This was cool and also not what I expected. I've thought of "Random Boss Order" a lot by myself doing randos, but we had different ideas of what that meant. I always thought of it as like, their locations are randomized. So you walk into False Knight arena and get Elder Hu, stuff like that. I think putting bosses in arenas they don't fit in could be an issue, so maybe the rando could teleport you to the actual arena then teleport you back after you finish the boss? This was really fun to watch btw too!
it wouldve been more fun if you put a cover over what the next boss was to have that suspense

It’s probably made this way because you can prepare for the requirements of the next boss this way (e.g. skurry was able to prepare for the collector by getting the love key in qg)

imagine if the godhome exclusive bosses were included on here. maybe not pv and absolute radiance since there's no wiggle room with their orders but mixed with the randomised godhome mod it would be interesting
GPZ can be excluded from the pantheons if you hold off on rescuing Zote in Deepnest, so he could come after AbsRad and PV.
And if we restrict the randomised order to only count the original fights (i.e. ignore pantheon appearances for everyone except Godhome-exclusive bosses), then there are several more bosses like God Tamer that don't contribute to pantheon unlocks, so they can appear after AbsRad as well.
Oh this is really cool with an actual tool. I spent a bit of time putting together what bosses could be fought and when. One thing i did was place sort bosses into groups so that you can still leave a difficulty curve in the game.

Watching you try to beat most of the bosses without dash made me think of the Ori reverse event order speedrun, in which they beat most of the first Ori game without bash. Somehow, this all looks vastly easier.

Soul Warrior was the 'boss' that gave me more trouble than any 'other' boss XD His adds just made it such a pain without shade dash and much better verticality than I possessed.

Hi, Scurry. There is one mod named "mirrored Hallownest". This mod is very good. Every room in Hollow Knight will be mirrored. Mirrored kingdom's edge, mirrored deepnest. You should play with this mod. (I am sorry, if there are some mistakes in my comment. I don't know English well.

I have a idea like this but different, so basically the bosses like false knight can be at like soul master so like a bosses placement randomizer but the bosses are at boss locations but the items still are in their locations so like beating the boss at hornet will still give you dash
Edit: I forgot to say that leave rad and hk at black egg but also if you want (your choice) you can put the godhome bosses in there

It's funny because I also beat radiance before brooding mawlek (I totally forgot about him), nkg, gpz (I fought cof1 before deepnest initially, so I missed him), and god tamer. I also may have beat her before white defender, I don't remember. I ended with 102%, so it's not like I rushed it, I just happened to not fight those specific bosses.
