Katherine & Daniel, another excellent and informative video. Winter is beginning to settle in here in the north west England, so it’s time to catch-up with some sailing adventures on TH-cam. Big thanks for your time and diligence.
Impressive drone landing skills. Lots of good tips and tricks out there on youtube for landing these things on sailboats at sea together with modifications to lessen the chance of some horrible finger severing outcome.
Nice drone footage 👍 You will get some magnificent footage around Scotlands north and west coasts🙂 (I had no luck with the few drones I tried a few years ago. I kept crashing them 🙃).
Hi, very nice video! enjoyed it a lot thank you. I have one question: which month did you do this trip? Would you say mid-late August is late to cross cape Orkeney - Cape Wrath?
We did this trim on 31/7 and 1/8 and that was absolutely fine. Mid-late August is certainly possible although the weather becomes more unstable then and gales become more frequent towards September (which does not mean there aren’t any during the summer…). With a well found boat and time to wait for your slot it shouldn‘t be an issue. Stromness - Stornoway or Stromness - Kinlochbervie (a very sheltered place btw) can be made in 24h and forecasts are pretty reliable on this time horizon.
That is some sailing adventure. What stunning anchorages.
There are plenty more anchorages which we did not visit.
Probably plenty for a whole season…
Spannend und neugierig auf euer nächstes Video🥰….danke
Danke Manu!! 😍
Nice job capturing the waves on camera - we find that they can be very hard to film in a way that conveys the feel of what it was like. Nice episode 👍
Oh many thanks guys! Yes, we found they look much higher in real life than through the camera lens.
Well done 👍 What a beautiful anchorage and some lovey drone shots ❤
Thanks guys, you must go there next season!
Nice work again, looking forward to seeing the catch🤔
Coming soon, we‘re working on it…

Thank you Anton! Hope all is well on your side!

I just need more practice in settled conditions, I think. Not the season for it at the moment… 😇
Just discovered your videos, great content and good job on your drone skills 👍
Thanks for your compliment! Much appreciated and as promised, I hope our drone footage will improve with confidence gained…
Great episode folks! !
Thank you!

Thanks, and yes, drone footage definitely adds to the video experience… a new dimension for us…
Beautiful shots - good drone flying well done - great music - lovely record of your adventure- did you also winter in Scotland on your boat
Yes, we did last winter and this winter too in Scotland.
@@sailingpolaris may I ask where you are wintering - I see at Kerrera near Oban - you can winter onboard to be ready for spring
@DirkJacobsz we are in Largs Yacht Haven. But yes, you can stay aboard in Kerrera for the winter too.
@@sailingpolaris thank you

Greetings again. What is your boat? Is it a 36 footer?
Hi, thanks for watching - she‘s a 46 footer…
What are the paper charts you use on your tablet . ?
It depends…
The app is called Memory Map For All and you can download raster charts on it.
Works with UKHO charts and Antares charts.
