Thank you so much. I was beating my head against a wall wondering why tf midi tracks I transported to audio were becoming out of sync. After 2 full days (10 hours each) of trying everything from exporting each individual track, to even rewriting the piece it finally works as intended. I don't ever remember this setting being an issue in the past though. Thank you again! You may have saved my laptops life.
9:13 You just came across a bug I noticed as well. Selecting multiple tracks with different tempo settings and then changing the setting will not apply it to all the tracks. Just the last selected or so.
mmm creative possibilities with this... I've often wondered what save tempo to file did and when it would be appropriate to use it. Thanks for another informative video. Whatever the topic I always learn something fro you.
Thanks for this Joe! Love it when you give me stuff that catches me where I'm at. I can't afford Melodyne Studio level and my Melodyne Assistant doesn't offer Tempo Mapping, so at least this gives me a tool that can implement tempo changes.🙂
Let's say we have a folder with a lot of instrumentals/audio (2 track beats) and you've dragged the audio file into Studio One and have found the tempo. Without exporting the audio, is there a way to bake the tempo into the audio files (to maybe use it in another session with the tempo already in the audio)? Basically want to put metadata (tempo) into all of the audio files before bringing them into a new session.
I finally found this, coz I always wondered what would happen if I brought my song STEMS from Ableton Live to Studio One for mixing and mastering. well Joe this Video was helpful indeed thank you so much 🙏
this is one of the biggest problems with studio one, most daws have this feature where you can choose if you want long samples or short samples to be stretch. Ableton by default understands that there is no need to stretch one-shot samples for example because it automatically detects the tempo of a file. Unfortunately with studio one you can't control that
After the latest update I couldn't find the tempo/timestretch feature in the top of the audiotrack inspector anymore. Found the right-click menu bottom item 'customize' and saw this option unchecked. Why???
I have Studio One Artist for Mac and my inspector is not the same as yours. Mine only shows "group" "layers" "play overlaps" "delay" etc. But I don't have any "tempo" or "timestretch" options in my inspector.
Love this video, great stuff, although I must admit, S1 does seem a bit convoluted in it's approach. One can do or understand very few things without googling first.
What is the best settings for midi? In my project it is set on seconds I discovered by checking it. But when I re-arrange parts of the song, it also messes up with the tempo that's been untouched.
the 'please do not follow' option didn't work for me on studio one 7, I have to right click on every track and edit 'file tempo' value to '0' to disable timestretch.
In my understanding, it doesn't stretch anything, but the beginning of the event follows the tempo. So if you had a single drum hit that you duplicated and repeated on the quarter note, those events would move with tempo changes without technically stretching.
Hello, I need help please! This is the second project that im having this issue with this past week. It's happened many times before where the tempo changes but usually I press "dont follow" and it goes back to normal when I export. This time the whole project is changing tempo before and after export, I selected all track, pressed "dont follow" and nothing changes. I have the option of stretching audio off when starting a project and it still does it, Ive tried changing the default tempo to match as well and nothing, not sure what im doing wrong. Thank you
I have song that has tempo changes in the middle of the song, but when i transfer to show page it doesnt follow the tempo changes,i need to render the click...can you check this joe...?
Hello! To render the click, while still on the Song Page, click on the wrench icon next to the Metronome icon at the bottom of the Transport Bar. You can render the Click there as a separate Stem with one more click. Once that's done, copy/paste it over to the Show Page as a dedicated Player.
This is aggravating when I go to play the metronome and I'm searching for the timing it changes my grid then i can't get it back to regular 4/4 it's killing me
When is Presonus going to address the bug where audio stops playing on some tracks at random? Super annoying! This needs to be addressed! I have read that MANY folks are having this problem.
Why would you want some audio files to match tempo and others not? Easy! If you're scoring for video. I just ran into this with my novice experimentations in scoring. I'd like my music to be able to change tempos as fits the exposition, but if your folly and vocal tracks change tempo... that's an issue!
I don't even have the stretch setting you are talking about and I have studio one 6 professional..I haven't ever had most the things that were supposed to come with my purchase almost a yr ago. Yall be using alien daws compared to what these people at PreSonus gave to me for 150 dollars.

Thanks so much! Importing files and having them speed up was something that drop me bonkers. "Don't follow" is a simple fix - love it!

Studio One has many bugs unfortunately :(
In Reaper they admire if you report them and try to fix them ASAP!
In S1, well... that's another story 😅
It's not a bug, but not all parameters in the inspector support batch editing with a multi-track selection.
mmm creative possibilities with this... I've often wondered what save tempo to file did and when it would be appropriate to use it. Thanks for another informative video. Whatever the topic I always learn something fro you.
You're welcome!
I wish you could make don't follow a default setting for new sessions.
You can.
@@HomeStudioCorner Can you show us?
@@HomeStudioCorner can you say how it works ?
Thanks Joe, that was very helpful. I am always dealing with this problem it seems. Thanks.
Always happy to help! It's a simple fix once you know what it is!

thanks Joe, exactly what i needed. 4.46 was my issue.

Glad that this can help you!
Yeah I'm here because I just f'd up my mix lol Thanks for the lesson.
THANKS A LOT!!! "Don't follow" solved my problem. 🙏
Been there... done that!!!!! Very useful info! Thanks for posting!
Happy to help!
Thank you very much! Where can i find this setting on my drummer? To him bpm is beers per minute.
🤣
This comment wins the internet today. 😆
So when do you use Follow? I understand Don’t follow and Timestretch. But Follow is a weird one.

Please do a new video of the mastering page.
Hello! What topics on the Mastering Page would you like us to cover?
the 'please do not follow' option didn't work for me on studio one 7, I have to right click on every track and edit 'file tempo' value to '0' to disable timestretch.
You explained Don't Follow and Timestretch ... what does the FOLLOW setting do?

This was driving me bananas. Thanks for helping

I am facing this exact problem too. Baffling how it isn't addressed yet.

THANK YOU!
you are a real Guru.
A million Thank you this is life saving LOL

If your audio file doesn't have a tempo when you right-click, try bouncing it to a new file. No, I don't know why that works for me :P
