I have no idea why some critics did not like her addition of our national anthem. They criticize your temple and certain techniques. I disagree. Her version was one of the best I’ve heard in a long time!
Because it's really pitchy. Her voice strength and quality are excellent, but the low part at the beginning was just a bit off. She found her sweet spot when she was in her vocal range. Hard song to sing, even for some of the best.

There’s something about this anthem that makes people want to do their very best and causes them to add flare/theatrics. But the song is amazing on its own and all it needs is to be sung as is, with an incredible voice.

That's her trademark. She's known for it. I've even seen reviews of her studio albums call her voice "appealingly nasal." Which is the truth, nasal singing usually is bleh to listen to. But Idina's doesn't grate on my ears lol

I've already been a fan of her before Frozen. And her vocals are almost as good as when she was in Wicked.

It’s funny because the phrases are sung in nasal position but the belts don’t sound too nasal. She has a beautiful tone too
