I had a big problem with fleas and I found a great tip on TH-cam with no chemicals to harm humans or pets. Fill a shallow bowl with warm water and washing up liquid, put it on the floor and keep a lamp next to it or even better use a bendy desk lamp and bend it over the bowl. Keep the lamp on for as long as possible and make sure that there is always water and washing up liquid in it. I left the lamp on for 6 days and was amazed by how many fleas were in it! I do this now every spring and autumn to keep on top of them. Also use ",ITCH" on my dog every month. Problem solved!

the fleas are scary.. there's a room upstairs in my house and there's a balcony and i speedrun to the balcony and only takes like 5 big steps to get there but there's a lot of them on my leg already.. they jump too fast
Yes but it's also to be wary of. ie don't inhale the dust. It's good for outside. Some people use it on their animals but I wouldn't like the animal to lick it off. Apparently it can get rid of intestinal worms though. It's confusing.
I do not own a pet but my neighbor does I had to cat sit for her a few days and the cat has no flea collar the owner felt she was an indoor cat an did not need one but gets she tons of stuff from amazon all the time so I got a flea problem If you use Borax can you leave the Borax for carpet can you leave it on for 2 weeks that should cover the life cycle of the Fleas and if you have a spray that kills fleas if you use both will that get rid of the fleas and can you leave the borax on indefinitely under a bed or couch
First, you should spray all of your carpeting and rugs with a product that is labeled to be sprayed for flea control indoors. Allow the treated areas to dry and then apply a light dusting of a flea dust to carpeting, rugs, and along baseboards. Take your broom and help sweep the dust into the nape of the carpet. Once the product is pushed into the carpet, regular vacuuming will not disturb it. You should be vacuuming every day or at least every other day. Then after 14 days, you should reapply the aerosol or liquid product to the carpeting and rugs again, to control any newly emerging immature fleas. We have an indoor flea control kit here... www.domyown.com/indoor-flea-and-tick-kit-p-14603.html
@@domyown but the fleas larvae eat poisoned fecal mater and vomit and will all die within 14 days or so But I already did spray bug stop it kills fleas then I put down a full covering of borax and brushed it into the carpet real well and now I am letting the poison continue to work for next 2 weeks before I will vacuum it up .so far its been 6 days and the little suckers that do straggle are all clear looking like glass and are not biting anymore after the 14 days I will vacuum and spray again with the bug stop from spectracide , I walk around and hit the carpet with the broom every day to get them out of the cocoon and have them eat the poison they wake up to I will let you know in the next week how it works out
Just had a pest company in , Rentokil, after vacuuming everyday, who said that i should have NOT vacuumed everyday.. The spray is made useless by that.
I think treatment only every 2 weeks is too long! They can breed after one week old. So do it 3 times one week apart, regardless which treatment one uses. This looks like a lot of work and toxic. How are the fumes after vacuuming?
How am.I supposed to vaccuum.everyday and get under furniture when I am disabled? I also live in a totally open plan house with no internal doors to close. I regularly frontline my small dogs but my mother let a stray cat inside her house for about three weeks. My dogs visit the house and since then they have had a few fleas on them.
Frequent vacuuming is suggested to speed up the treatment process so you would only need to do what you are able. If you do not have a closed room to move your pets and yourself into after treating a specific area you would need to leave the home after the treatment for a couple of hours to allow the treated areas to dry.
The fleas you are seeing would not be living in/on hardwood floors, but would be coming from a carpeted area, throw rugs, pet bedding or upholstered furniture in your home. Please refer to our complete Flea Treatment Guide for more information on eliminating fleas in those indoor areas, and for recommend product links for flea treatment inside your home. www.domyown.com/how-to-get-rid-of-fleas-a-483.html
After the day of fumigation from pest control, apart from vacuuming, can I steam clean right after? Will that suck up the pesticide too rendering my effort useless because it is just water? How many days after can I steam clean? Thank you.
We would not advise that you steam clean after a treatment since you will be removing the residual left behind by the products used. You can steam clean right before your next treatment and than apply products again or wait until you have successfully gotten rid of the fleas to steam clean. Treatment should be Done every 14 days for fleas. www.domyown.com/how-to-get-rid-of-fleas-a-483.html Please let us know if you have any further questions.
@@didocomeback After the products dry you can vacuum that day or the next day and you should continue to vacuum once every other day for at least 14 days. Vacuuming pulls fleas and eggs to the surface and also provides the stimulation the pupa (immature flea) need to exit their cocoons and expose themselves to the insecticides that have been applied.
The best flea medicine for my pet I've used is revolution, I get it from my vet, kills fleas, ticks, all sorts of worms including heartworm and even ear mites
You should apply it to the tufts, seems and the sides of the mattress but not on top of the mattress where you would sleep. You should treat infested or potentially infested areas including rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, pet beds, pet resting areas, room edges and around or under furniture or other stored items.
Products for pets are designed differently than those for humans. Just as chocolate is safe for most humans, it could seriously harm a dog or cat to ingest it. If you and your pet both have arthritis, the medicine for you and the medicine for your pet will be different because your systems work differently. The product is designed for pet use and pet skin, so its always safer to use gloves when applying it on the off chance it reacts negatively to a humans skin.

I don't own a dog or a cat, but today I spotted a flea on my leg. I'm guessing that when my sister visited last week with her boyfriend, his dog brought them. Since I don't have any pets, maybe they'll just die off?
If you haven't spotted any more fleas than just that one, it doesn't sound like you will need to treat. We do recommend that you thoroughly vacuum your floor and any other area the dog may have rested while in your home to help remove any fleas or flea eggs. If you do find that you are seeing more fleas we recommend you follow the instructions in the video.
