    The modern CVTs in the latest Nissans actually are on of their biggest assets, especially when driving offroad, in the snow, in the mountains and with a trailer. With this transmission, you simply do not have those "holes" (power/momentum loss) other vehicles can have when doing an unfortunate shift at the wrong time. The CVT is much more flexible and much quicker to react. I really put it through its paces for over two years now and it never even flinched. Plus Nissans AWD tech is as good as it gets as always.

    It’s the tires, not the car, when it comes to driving in actual snow. You can have the most intensive AWD, but without traction, you’re just spinning.

    I have this same year and model and can verify this car is pretty good in the snow. This newer model actually handles better on slick icy side roads compared to my 2018. A few things missing from the video. No mention of the new drive mode selection. No comparison of one drive mode vs. another. No mention of the AWD system in general. I like the raw video demo but some technical commentary would have made this great.

    • @williampulley
      @williampulley 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@packey746 2018 Still deacts after 25 mph. 2021 the snow and mountain will stay on after 25mph but the manual warns not to drive at length on dry hard surfaces or risk trans damage. Also, the traction control seems WAY better. The 2018 would practically stall the engine. 2021 does not have that issue and works just as well.

    It certainly has the ground clearance. And i think with the proper tires it would do just fine.

    • @charleshines8523
      @charleshines8523 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is just it, proper tires. I have a set of Cooper CS5 grand touring tires and they have terrible wet traction and almost no snow traction. I was out once and with them there was less than an inch of snow on the ground and I had to move very slowly on our back roads. Lucky for me I was a couple miles from home because having to move so slowly it took a while. It is either that or I end up in a ditch or in woods over a hill. Where I live there are plenty of road sides you *do not want to slide off of for anything* . I am in a rather hilly part of Pennsylvania and I also lived in Pittsburgh and that is NOT a place to be with bad traction in the winter!! I have a 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport SV and most of the time it is front wheel drive but I was able to "lock" AWD for low speeds with a button. I should get a set of good all season tires and be rid of those terrible Coopers once and for all. I don't care if I have to pay a disposal fee, just get the damned things off my vehicle and if you know what is good don't let me see them ever again!!

      You will never make it through over 2 feet of snow and off road. Most people will go through this type of level

      Even if you had a proper off road vehicle you need the right driver

      @@SamCarLegion sorry..that is not two feet of snow let alone OVER two feet.
      look, sam, love ya but keep it solid.
      i grew up in deep snow...and we never ever had raised SUV or AWD.
      and we got through.
      ya, we got stuck now n then, but this should have been VERY doable for a raised, and one of the higher, SUVs.
      so no, not acceptable.

      @@paulpellico3797 I live in Canada snows pretty much every day. No disrespect at all, but I do know most people don’t experience this kind of level of driving at all. In some areas it was well above 2 feet of snow and it did very well.

      @@SamCarLegion then edit that stinky part out...because i just gotta believe my lying eyes.
      it was nowhere near 2 feet except where the snow was plowed higher by the car itself.
      hell, the car itself isn't 2 feet above and it was clear going into the situation.
