Hi Charlotte (Think I remember that was your name from watching your videos) We really like Taiwan indeed. Such a great place. Sorry to hear you had to leave. Hope you can return soon. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for posting videos. You guys are so lucky. You get to visit places while the whole world is on lockdown. You are in the best country to be in this crazy times. 😊
I just subscribed to you two recently and look forward to your videos. They have made me add Taiwain to my travel list. Still on stay home orders pretty much where I'm at so I'm grateful to have found you two so I can travel through you. :)
Hi Jen! sorry to hear you are in this unfortunate situation. Just know that this too will pass and you will be able to travel again soon ;) Enjoy our videos and stay safe!
Amazing video, I really enjoy it. Specially the footage by the drone. What a great monastery. I wish could be there also soon. Well done my friends. Two thumbs and stay safe. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Pretty sure these temples were built without nails, which would be the traditional method for temples and palaces. Did the visitor center or museum say anything about that? For example, the brackets at 6:55 look to be 斗拱. If so, each bracket is made with many many pieces of specially carved wood that do not fit tightly together (no nails - they are held together by gravity alone). Instead, these pieces move, almost skeleton like, during earthquakes. By doing so, the wood does not crack. Instead, the energy of the earthquake is dissipated.
You never fail Naick and Kim. This is really an amazing video. The glass ceiling uber car was superb. Thanks for making me happy with your videos always. I can't wait for the next video. P.S. Hope you can also visit the Philippines especially Cebu in one your future trips.
Great job, Naick and Kim. It's mazing. I have been to Taiwan a few times but never really got around to visit the places outside of Taichung. It's a beautiful country, with a lot of mountains, and great for people who love hiking. Look forward to your next video 😊😊😊
But please be mindful not to wear sun cream when you dive around xiao liu qiu island to protect the sea turtles and the marine lives in general. Everyone's prepared to get some serious tan if they decide to go there.
So glad to see you visited my hometown and love it. Fo Guang Shan is one of the holy places in Taiwan and it is as famous as Cologne Cathedral in Germany. One thing different is Cologne Cathedral is located by the main train station of Cologne and Fo Guang Shan is actually located at countryside and is build by hillside. According to geographical environment Taiwan is similar like Switzerland both are mountainous. That is one of the reasons you have enough stairs to go up and down. What the electrical lights you saw on the walls of the main temple they have the same meaning like you go to church and burn on a candlelight for your family or friends. All light must be paid with different price, it depends on the location of the light. I love Konkke, and am awaiting for you next videos. I believe your trip is Taiwan will be one of your the best and beautiful memories in your life Have Fun in Taiwan
Reason why you were asked when did you first come to Taiwan is to make sure you are safe for staying beyond the 2 week quarantine requirement.Really enjoy your videos. Stay safe.
Foguangshan has a building in the downtown area. It offers free calligraphy experience of writing sutras and has a incredible upscale vegetarian restaurant on the main floor. It may be a nice little detour when you visit the downtown area next time. Last time I spent 2 hours there overall including a dinner.
Those drone shots are EPIC. It seems heat+humility+sunset is the formula for great filming:D It kinda reminds me some of the beautiful shots in the movie The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,
Amazing! Very surprising that it was built only in recent years. Great drone shots. I agree with others that the man at the gate probably wanted to be sure you both had not broken quarantine.
We contemplated it. We have hitchhiked in the past quite a bit and love it. But given the current situation it wouldn't be very responsible. Maybe next time ;)
Fortunately, there are not many tourists at Fo Guang Shan that day, which makes people more comfortable and the quality of tourism is better. Thanks for the positive video as always, it inspired me a lot.👍️
Lots stairs because many places like to be in the mountains away from civilization. That is part of the Taoism culture. You are at a Buddhist monastery, but Taoist culture is everywhere in Taiwan. Climbing the stairs is also a symbol of the worshipers' commitment and determination to the faith. The memorial museum looks great, but it's not just a religious establishment. There are actually lots of commercial activities there such as booking a wedding, fancy expensive vegetarian cuisine, and expensive art work. Contributors' names are carved on huge marble slabs and grouped according dollar amounts. I love the vegetarian food there. Three restaurants to choose from depending on your depths of your pockets.
The reason why the man was asking when you guys came to Taiwan was to make sure you guys followed the 14 day self quarantine protocol. This is the very reason why Taiwan has been so successful in terms of the virus preventive measures because not only is it the governments duty to ensure the safety of others but the citizens too have the same conscious mind to ensure the security of the nation. Normally in some places, they request a National Health Card to check all the history and everything, but some places do it verbally because they don’t have access to the government database but again it is just to make sure you guys are healthy. If it has made you guys uncomfortable we apologize but again in dire times we only ask for drastic measures! Continue to enjoy your stay in Taiwan freely! And thank you for making these amazing contents!!
Wow, you visit 佛光山 in COVID-19 pandemic period. It,s really a special experience. Since you stay in south Taiwan, Tainan is a good choice to visit. Have a nice trip.
Highly recommended you guys go to Tainan, which's a old city of Taiwan. The city preserve many historic sites, have lots of traditional cusine, and you can try our traditional clothing "旗袍" (qipao).
WOW! You did a great great great job again. Nice shots, camera movements, background music, everything was so perfect except the heat, haha. Even the uber car was so surprising. By the way, some of the shots reminds me of Kung Fu Panda. LOL The most important thing is If you need a local guide or car driver, I would love to do it. ^^
You might try the 15th presidential and vice-presidential beer. You are able to buy it in convenient store , 7-11. family mart...it is limited edition once in 4 years.
When I came to the temple last Chinese New Year’s Eve, about in February, there are so many many people over there, and very crowded, it's so hot weather in Kaohsiung, even in winter. Hand fan is your good friend, when you walk around that can make you feel comfortable.
Goodness it must be hot to walk around in Kaohsiung in the middle of the day! Hope you guys get hats and/or find other ways (like eating watermelon!) to cool down. Take care!
If you still have time, as a foreign tourists to Taiwan myself, may I suggest the following: 1. Taitung (Mr Brown Avenue 伯郎大道, Duoliang Station 多良车站, Sanxiantai 三仙台,Zhaori Hot Springs 朝日溫泉 2. And if you are going back to Taipei to take an outbound flight and still have time, I suggest some places of you have missed but worth visiting, provided weather is good. Northern Coast Tour places like taiwaneverything.cc/2017/11/24/north-coast-bus-tour/ Special mention: 3. Bitoujiao Trail 鼻头角步道( worth going if the sky is blue not raining, picturesque view) 4。 Jiufen 九份(I suggest stay a night in one of the hostels or hotels)。
You can go to Little Ryukyu. It was a small island near Kaohsiung and Pingtung. You can take a boat from Donggang in Pingtung. It is suitable for snorkeling. It is also one of the few places in the world where green turtles can be seen directly from the land and the near sea. Of course, there is a bigger bigger sun 😎
Hello, there is a typhoon approaching, please prepare some food and drinking water. Please pay attention to the weather news and stay at home when you feel the wind and rain getting stronger. If there is a need, some convenience stores, such as 7-11 and Family mart, will be open during the typhoon.
In fact, each building of the memorial has different exhibitions, it is worth a visit. You can go directly to the memorial next time. Welcome to Kaohsiung!!
