This song is inspired by the mothers of the disappeared in El Salvador, but those mothers were inspired by the "Madres de Plaza de Mayo" in Argentina, that during the last military dictatorship in Argentina, claimed to the military government for the appearance in life of their sons and daughters
I just saw again the film 'Missing' about Pinochet's coup and the thousands of disappeared in 1973. This song came to mind. This song is timeless and applies across cultures and times.
Not a instrument player here, but what was Larry doing with his bass during the performance? He doesn't seem to be playing it normally. Am kinda curious with the pedal he got there.
That’s Adam, Larry is the drummer, a lot of U2’s music and sound was created by Adams base pedal, you can hear it at the start of where the streets have no name brilliant effect if you ask me 🙌🏻
when the blazers are you guys going to brace yourselves to perform here in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia....hopefully in this kaliyoga period ( this lifetime).
They performed with heart out for those mothers , I'm in tears. This band is the best of them all. God bless everyone.
Such a tremendous song...lost amongst all the hits on one of the biggest albums of all time ...
A song of mourning and dedication. God remembers the disappeared.
Hermosa canción la verdad es que esa banda es única
The tribute given here in this song; is beautiful and so, so passionate ❣️

Love Adam's mysterious pedal device !
It's not so mysterious, it's a Moog Taurus Bass Synth.

Cou cou c’est encore moi oh oh oh oh oh oh
What's Adam doing with that pedalboard?
It's a bass synth. You can program a cord progression and key it into the bar with your foot... clever things.
Why ? I don't know. 🙏✝️🤴
