When he was doing donuts it sounded like it was running on 3 cylinders AKA most C10's seen in the wild. A 383 SBC stroker with EFI is one of the easiest things to tune ever. Pretty much every dyno shop in North America has a base tune and could load it in minutes that would work better then the crap tune he had in it. Shame.

It's those torque converters man! They rob you! That's a sick truck I'd love to see it at it's best. And that Lexus is the first Lexus I've actually wanted to own, I can't imagine it with a tuned 2JZ.
Torque converters multiply torque. They're one of the reasons autos are the best transmissions for drag racing. The issue was tossing EFI on the truck and imidiately loading it onto the trailer assuming that because it idled it would be good to go.
Man it's such a bummer when someone shows up and their car isn't running right. Feel bad for them and it makes for a bad race.
