- After a few years of waiting we finally got to shoot with Gabe Franco and his carbon fiber widebody Chevy C10 drift truck and it was awesome! Not only can Gabe build as seen with this badass small block Square Body C10 but he can seriously drive and you can tell that his happy place is sideways and smokin' tires so sit back and enjoy the ride...

Basic SBC build sounds insane, Gabes C10 is a stripped down Mechanical Barenuckle Fighter💯👌👍
remember kids instead of going into debt for the next 8 years buying a car you can build something like this. im surprised that is only a sbc 350.
Shows that a few hundred hp with a proper set up can really rip!

For a car to have fun with sure I wouldn’t recommend this if it’s gonna be your only car .

I'm a Ford guy with a fondness for the old square bodies and this is probably my favorite build featured on this channel. I LOVE trucks that get used for their intended purpose!

I wonder if it's one of those weird offset grind situations. Or a 3.5" stroke instead of a 3.48. I've seen stuff like that. Saves you from needing to deck the block during a rebuild.

I learned by watching Tony Angelo how much goes into just about any vehicle if you want to drift properly...it takes some work....stuff way above my head.. but I do respect the work done

This makes me, for the 1st time, feel how old I am. I built a slammed 7/9 '85 square body on 17s with a built sbc 358 20yrs ago........Drifting wasn't a thing back then, but I get the build, 100 % !

I do so enjoy the stuff you guys find!!! This guy and his truck are AWESOME! I’d hang out with him, and I’d love to drive that truck! I like to build race trucks, myself (Built my first one, when I dropped a Twin-turbo 300zx motor from a ‘91 TT ZX into my 1990 rcsb Nissan Hardbody with the Z’s manual transmission and a ‘88 corvette rear IRS setup. That was back in ‘92.). There’s something about taking a pickup and making it handle better than a sports car.. or making it faster than the fastest muscle cars…. It’s just wrong, but in a way that just feels so… RIGHT.

I’ve owned a total of 8 different Squarebody Chevys and this one is by far the coolest thing I’ve seen done to one, I currently own a jacked up 3/4 ton with about 40k dumped into it and it could totally use that wide body kit. This kid is a savage behind the wheel, great work to both of you I love it!
3:09 Driver cars are fun, and top dollar cars are beautiful, but they're all purposed builds, which depends on the owner's goal(s). Some guys values experiences more than creativity and art. Action-orientated, adrenaline junkie versus guys that rather chill and enjoy X thing. Usually happens to those who experience long term isolation with time to reflect on their own character. Hence, why all builds are different, all builds are a reflection of their owners. Not to get too preachy, just talking my mind out! Sick C10 tho 💪💪

I really enjoy these types of builds and the guys who drive the hell out of them. I get the whole collecting cars scene, but driving them hard and enjoying them for what they were meant to do is so much more honest and real (and relatable). Awesome truck and video!
The first ride I bought was a C10 . It had a 350 engine with a Holly 4 barrel carb, 4 speed transmission.

During high school I drove 30 miles in and back off the ranch each day. I had a '57 Ford with police interceptor engine. There was about 20 miles of gravel/dirt. Every day was a chance to "drift" all the corners going to Dad's place. We called it "puttin' her sideways" in those days. Finally, the road maintainer got with my Dad and complained that I was putting all his gravel into the ditches...... Did I stop? Oh, hell no. I could slide that Ford forever.....new ones....not so much. P.S. It's not about horsepower but rather; a responsive engine and torque.
Housing tract sites were always fun too
