      Zeeshan Zakaria It can be multiplied by 10 because once it's designed for the military it's not just a drone

    In 1986, my friend wanted to send pictures of his farm to friends in Yugoslavia, so we hooked up my Canon AE-1 to his R/C-helicopter and got it to work, flew around the farm at different heights...took 24 pictures total...then had to wait 5 days for the pics to be developed, only to find that 5 pics made it, the rest where either outa focus or just sky...
    Today, it's sooo simple, the same can be done within an hour and pics sent instantly to any one or uploaded to the web in no time.
    So cool!

      There is already one system devoloping for Drone jammer which used for presidental cars or important places. System is basically using noise way to cut the drone for sending video to base or continue flying the interesting thing is if the small drones don't have a auto-pilot its shutting down the drone. Turkey is doing really good job even U.S. didn't have if they don't keeping secret.One other thing is jammer drone find the other drone and lock&jam it but who knows maybe they add small AA missile one day

    You guys should really go and look into this great hobby. The media tangles everything and just focuses on the idea that drones are bad because of the wars going on. The RC hobby are not part of that. We are totally separate and don't go around spying and killing. If you didn't know, there has been no peeping toms involving RC aircraft. All of you keep thinking that they are going to watch you sunbathe or dress, well you need to think more. They are loud and noticeable, you will see it. This is a hobby with more benefit than you guys know, some day one could save you.

      Schmidty You are 100% correct but if you look at technology advancements, those who use the technology 1st on a massive scale are the military and PORN! +Schmidty Today, I went RC flying with my friends, and I brought my DJI Phantom quadcopter drone with me! We had the best time ever, I recorded the whole thing with my drone, and nobody got hurt! I really dislike how drones are bringing negative attention to the RC hobby. Military drones like the Predator have absolutely nothing in common with consumer videography and RC hobby drones like the DJI Phantom.

    You can get a DJI Phantom FC40 for $500 or Phantom 2 Vision $879 and still have the technology as these $60K toys. I got an DJI Phantom that comes with a camera that you can link through a smart phone or tablet. These companies are probably using DJI control boards, NAZA GPS, Electronic speed controllers and all other hobby grade parts already available and charging $60K.

    • @DannyNetwirk
      @DannyNetwirk 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with you to a certain extent. I have recently bought a Phantom 2 and have been watching a lot of similar videos to get a better understanding of them. DJI is a very good company at producing quadcopters, but I'm pretty sure that these military producing companies are not telling us everything that they do put in their quadcopters, and I'm sure the military is smart enough not to purchase a drone that has the same capabilities as a DJI drone.

    • @Speakerofthehouse2
      @Speakerofthehouse2 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The military will more likely spend $60k rather than be budget savy.

    • @ParkerLumpee
      @ParkerLumpee 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      FPV to a phone or tablet is not the same thing as what is in these drones... Anybody can go buy a toy copter, but putting together a useful aerial vehicle requires much more in depth knowledge. I guarantee that these are not using anything made by DJI. I think he's using an APM.
      EDIT: No, actually these are purely proprietary.

    • @Speakerofthehouse2
      @Speakerofthehouse2 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      What else would call a live video feed to a phone or tablet from a drone? Not FPV? Just because they wrote the software package and incorporated it into the same hobby grade toy copter parts that I fly via a tablet with a rubber case makes it worth $60K? I think you are missing the poin regardless of what parts they use. This technology is in it's infantcy.

    • @ParkerLumpee
      @ParkerLumpee 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Speakerofthehouse2 I don't doubt they are making a lot of money on these but they aren't even in the same league as a DJI. Real FPV systems have range of more than a few hundred feet, which essentially limits you to line of sight anyway. 2.4 ghz wifi can't penetrate trees or anything so it has no real value for this application. And yes, for the average user that tablet to control it is very important. Most people don't want to have to learn to fly a copter, point and click is much easier.

      That's kind of what a drone is though, isn't it? A drone isn't specifically military hardware, it's a reconnaissance vehicle. If you strap a gopro to an rc helicopter and fly it around and film stuff, it kind of is a drone.

    • @theflyinggasmask
      @theflyinggasmask 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @OneTwoMilsim
      @OneTwoMilsim 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Flying Gasmask It doesn't change the fact that it's a drone. Drone is a better blanket term for unmanned vehicles that use cameras. A quadcopter isn't always a drone as it may be an actual transport vehicle or perhaps not have a camera.

      Hoverbot1TV I'm not defending this drone, I am against them because the NSA will use them to spy on American citizens. It's quite scary actually.

Would be great to see a follow-up tracking the companies (3DR went full force after DJI, which in itself didn't even get a mention, and now offers only business services), hobby (there are races with huge prizes, think 2016 Dubai), and regulation (FAA now has poorly written ambiguous rules). Time for a follow-up up on all those clips?

    My thoughts exactly. I'm in the process of designing a tricopter that I intend to use for FPV flying. There is nothing wrong or dangerous about doing that. As long as you're responsible and don't fly in crowds of people, nobody is going to get hurt and it's really a cool feeling to essentially be able to fly around on a moments notice.

    In Australia a Drone or RC Aircraft with a camera (for business at least) is considered a UAV, hence requires a UAV licence to operate and permits to fly near people or under 400ft. I read the legals and I could not find a mention of privacy, only safety.

    Drones can save lives too. Last year in the Canadian Arctic, one of the helicopters from a Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker when down with the loss of 4 lives including the ship's Captain. They were scouting the sea ice for paths through it. If they would have been using a RPV, these lives would have been lost.

    The guy sitting on the beach flying his quad is not flying a drone, he is flying FPV. I have a RC plane I set up for FPV and the closest it comes to being a drone is when either I flick a switch or it looses radio signal. When that happens it defaults to a return to launch setting and flies back to me.

    Regarding the statement @ 18:46. For real-time video, the scout UAV will likely provide a better image, not the hobbyist UAV. With the hobbyist UAV, the video we're seeing is HD video retrieved after the fact from a GoPro, which is not of the quality that you can get if you're transmitting video over-the-air. For real-time video, the scout UAV likely wins.

    I aggree... as owner of Arkansas Drone Tech... I can see the future of..drones... as people call them. I build custom per application unmanned rc aircraft. Quad copters ect. The now available technogly allows me to build a complete FPV platform with GPS system AND auto level sensors for less than $1000 with controller. Averege price is $250 fee for design and tuning. $550 for items used in construction... Ive been in RC avionics for about 20 years. The advances in technology amazes me...

    I'm was and still am a solider, now retired. OIF2 we were using drone tech, that was, 2004-2005. I became so engrossed with the idea of a fully autonomous drone army that I started to realize it was probably one of the most dangerous techs to be created. Compare size to mass, a single drone army with only 40 drones or so could take out hundreds, if not thousands before running out of ammo. Then if their is no solider on the ground, why the fuck are they still fighting?

    "Tech like this is ALWAYS developed for the worst of reasons."
    Staying on top militarily is not a bad reason. In fact, nations that neglect military development tend to have a short life span as it becomes economically beneficial to invade them. Beyond that, the US is organized such that the government subsidizes R&D for all kinds of industries via military research budgets and technologies are always spun off into civilian applications fairly quickly.

    Yeah I know about those, but these mini-drones that the video mostly talked about are easy to take out.

    A distinction without a difference. A drone does not mean armed military drone. Anything that uses robotics to fly with some level of autonomy can be considered a drone. It's not hard to take that R/C model and strap on some improvised explosive and turn it into a killing machine.

    This is so cool. I just ordered parts for my drone, can't wait till its shipped! Though this will by my first build, and it only costed me ~200$. The hardest part will be writing stabilization software, i'm not very good at math, nor physics, so this will be a challenge.
    But if you only want to fly the thing, you can buy one pre-built from some hobby websites, you can buy one with mounted camera, or one without it. They aren't THAT expensive.

    Tomorrow's news: Unidentified hacker hijacks Law Enforcement and Journalist drones, millions of dollars worth of equipment have vanished into thin air - Government is looking to invest another 20 Million to purchase new drones; a fraction of which, will be tasked to search systematically for the missing ones.
