- Mark Pauline is the founder of Survival Research Laboratories, a mythical moniker among weird-techies, art-punks and general violence seekers across the globe. Pauline began his work in the 80s in the San Francisco punk and art scene defacing billboards and organizing public pranks. Through the decades, he has become a pioneer in technological and performance arts. His vaguely anthropomorphic creations are some of the most dangerous machines ever made, rivaling the military, but instead of turning their threats on us, the machines blow each other up and let us watch.

i always figured that he's got to have a really BOSS collection of mechanized prosthetic weaponry for that mangled paw! can't believe nobody tries to buy any of those machines! i remember the rabbit corpse in a simple metal exo-skeleton doing the most fuct up st. vitus dance being introduced to a flamethrowing metal beast... so kool.
He most certainly put M80s in school toilets as a kid.

I've met mark a few times, he was also friends with My older brother. He's a really cool guy, not pretentious like so many other people. He's much like You see here.
I have expedienced a bunch of violent shit in my life, and hearing the engine of a hercules turn on, or a breakdown at a live concert, none of it compares.

What else does he keep in gasoline cans? Why does he have to smell it to verify that it is gasoline?
Hopefully, something like hydraulic fluid, diesel or maybe acetone/ethyl acetate. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if some gas cans around there contain xylene or toluene, having some familiarity with the past 4 decades of their work. It might have been the only container handy that the solvent wouldn't eat when SRL's obtainium experts found an unguarded source.
