I own a 2018 Cherokee trailhawk with the v6 and of all the vehicles i ever owned this one is by far my favorite. It is my swiss army knife on wheels. It has a very unique look that really grows on you. I was gonna wait for the 2019 but I am glad i did not because to tell you the truth it looks too plain for my taste. I read a lot of negative comments about the looks, but it is unique and isn't that what Jeep is all about. It deserves a lot more respect than people are giving it.
I saw one at a Dealership recently. The features in Limited spec are many and brilliant. It drives extremely well too; very solid and powerful. Good job Jeep.
I must say Tom, I dont know what it is, but I did not like this car until after watching this video. I would never buy a Jeep, but watching this definitely changed my mind about its styling. Keep up the good work!
Great review. I have a 2016 V6 Limited and LOVE it. The 9 speed is silky smooth and so far decent fuel mileage. I'm from Canada's East coast so at times been in some very deep snow and ice & slush. The Active Drive I has no issues at all in just about any highway situation and let me tell you we get a lot of snow. 3.2 is very smooth and lots of power. Interior is one of Wards Ten Best.
Have your dealership check the electronic brake module. There is an issue . Water can leak into the connecter amd corrode the terminals. This can cause the brakes to engage while driving. It is an easy fix . Chrysler knows about the issue and will likley do the repair at no cost .
Absolutely true about seeing it person makes a world of difference. Just not sure it will age well. Trail Hawk is the best looking and the Easter Jeep models look cool too.
Go to AUX mode and turn the volume up past 20 and listen to the STATIC ... this happens with or without anything plugged in ! 2015's don't do it , only 2014 with 14.25.0 software , jeep refuses to update the issue ..
I gotta say, the 9-speed automatic sure seems impressive, at least in terms of theory. But I can't seem to wonder what it would do to the driving dynamics and the overall performance of the car once you look past the better fuel economy you can get with more gears.
my 14 didn't have this parking option. Its more of a pain in the ass having the uconnect intergreated app. cost almost thousand to replace the head unit! Not to mention the transmission has a ton of problems!!!
If you check out the Trailhawk owners in the Cherokee Club, this is every bit as capable as a Wrangler. I bought one because the looks are modern. So far, 155,000 other people agree with me making it Jeeps #1 sales leader. It's LED running lights make it look mean and the front, well it reminds me of a snake - albeit an angry one.
For some reason, if the front end of the car wasn't so long and proportioned correctly with the flow of the shape, it wouldn't look as bad. The Trailhawk versions are better looking (started seeing more of those on the roads now). But since sales are pacing up to/passing the Wrangler, I guess people like them.
StreetsOfRage94 What i want to say is because it's a front wheel drive base car that primary sent power to the front wheels I'll pass. But got to admit they have done a good job.
The only thing I don't like about this is that its a Jeep. Although, this particular Jeep has Fiat DNA in it. So, I am willing to consider it...after long term use reviews, of course.
Many SUVs have a base FWD model for people who won't be using AWD and/or are on a budget. It's nothing new. You can always buy an AWD model if you wanted.

I must say in the beginning it looked like a monster out of Mary Shelly's Frankenstein but this little SUV is growing on me

I agree completely
Same here! It changed my mind a little. Still don't like the front end though, but its growing on me.

3:57 - (about the power lift gate) Tom: Cherokee's moves out of the way quickly - and then impatiently pushes the liftgate up :)
Does it have one oil pan or two?
Nice video, I just bought me a used Cherokee Trailhawk this morning, I can't wait to get it!
Do you still have it? Can we see
HogsFan91 I traded it in in 2018, so no. 😕

How much mpg city/hwy would this Jeep get in Florida?

Yes but this jeep sure has record sales and has helped save Jeep in the US.
short but good review.

i think this vehicle would have looked awesome had they just done the headlights a little more similar to the grand cherokee

The lack of wheel articulation is quite embarrassing and downright dangerous for any serious off-roading.
+s50201, well then, stick with your Wrangler. Sheesh.

I just bought one a week ago

Mine in a 4wd

1 complaint: it's a front wheel drive suv/cuv . I don't drive front wheel drive.

And most Jeeps come with as 4X4s. There are very few 2-wheel or front-wheel drive Cherokees in Jeep dealerships.
The Cherokee is a lemon. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Transmission, brakes, fuel tank.
The interior looks better than the exterior. I've seen it in person and it's still a fugly car.
Stop hoarding the tp lol
