I’m disabled and no longer able to have a normal life. I’ve been living vicariously through you lately. I was a super organized mama, organic gardener, gymnastics coach. I’m not stuck in my bed for about 80% of the day. But God is good and has taught me so much. I now have peace and joy again bc of Jesus Christ. I’ve always dreamed of having a life like yours. I commend all the hard work it takes to conquer all the everyday tasks. The photography and videography is so beautiful. You are such an amazing and beautiful human. Ur videos always help me to feel a little more normal. Thank you. Love the cute skirt too!! ❤
Jesus is Lord! My prayers are with you 🙏 I don’t know your situation, but as someone who was in bed without walking or going to the bathroom by herself, I am humbled by your capacity to shine so much harmony and love and kindness through your comment in a time of challenge. Against all odds, here I am healthy and walking every day. I’m wishing you all the best 🙏💫💕
I’m with you. I used to be very productive while taking time to enjoy life. I’m now relegated to the bed 24/7. It’s so frustrating. I’m sorry you’re going through this too. 🙏
I had a wise friend tell me once, “Too many good things is still too many things.” I always think about that when I’m realizing our schedule is getting too full. They may all be great learning activities but it can STILL be too many things!
Your son jumping on the freshly made bed was so cute and reminded me how my now grown son would love to do that too. That enclosure you have for your babies crib is a great idea... I've not seen that before.
To keep your pesto bright green, wait to salt your pasta water and blanch the basil leaves for 10sec once its boiling. Dunk them straight in ice water and lay them out to dry for a few. Keeps the pesto from browning.

Lisa, this was such an enjoyable and calming video to watch. Thank you for sharing your rainy day with us. At 56 years old, I wish my days were filled with homemaking and slowing down. I do work full time and have a 40 minute commute each way. It makes for a very long day. Weekends are sometimes slow, which is always lovely. Did you make your skirt? It is really pretty.
We are big Dave Ramsey fans too. Hey, did you know there’s a kids game he has out called “act your wage”? It’s a board game resembling the game of LIFE. It’s so fun and gets the kids learning of course as well. Love your videos, Lisa. Always gets me motivated to get up and tackle a project or make a yummy meal.
I love keeping a big jar of roasted tomatoes in the fridge topped with good olive oil. It stays fresh in cold storage for a very long time and it’s great heated up with crusty bread and a salad or with chicken like you made or over leftover pasta. I like to add a quality balsamic and lemon juice and whatever herbs I have on hand. It’s so versatile and takes minimal effort. This is one of the ways I give myself time on busy days.
Lisa, I love you and feel like we could be best friends. You're way better at everything than I am but my heart is right there with you as I remember with fondness the days of nurturing my family with homecooked meals and an orderly and God-fearing home. My children are grown and have children and grandchildren of their own. I still love taking care of my house and cooking from scratch!
I take my phone or an old tablet to the kitchen and Lisa and I cook together or do some chores. Im in motion with her and it doesn't feel so lonely or daunting to get through the rhythm of homemaking. Been doing this with various cooking shows i used to record, and now Lisa. We all need encouragement, don't give up momma's it does get easier❤
Theres a good saying " cut your cloth accordingly" and i find having that mind set stops you worrying about money. People seem to always be chasing more money . Yes it gives you or allows you to do what you want but i have found it does not make you any happier. When my family were children we would make a picnic and go to the beach during the summer holidays or just a take a drive down at the week end and take anyone who wanted to come with us. Those were lovely days. People waste money on things like coffee and sandwiches instead of making them at home . Yes im getting older but i see where some people will just do not see how much they spend. Anyway thank you for sharing. I do enjoy watching your home life and its a great way to make money. What a great life for children:)
You are so right! Having money only solves the money problem, it certainly does not solve any of life's other problems. My husband and I raised 4 children during times of unemployment and underemployment for my husband. We really struggled for years. But now the kids are all grown and we have a much more financially stable life. However, the other issues and problems of life have not magically gone away. I think it's so important to find the joys of life beyond what money can bring. ❤
Lovely Lisa, I adore rainy days. As a retired grandma, I adore lounging all day on my porch, snoozing on and off listening to the rain and especially during cooler weather. I have given myself permission to be lazy here and there. I keep up with the basics, and the occasional deep clean. I don’t have any junk drawers, and have always been a very organized person, so up keep is relatively easy. Of course, it’s only the hubby and me. Outside takes more of my time these days. Chickens and gardens!😉

Good comparison between managing our finances and managing our life responsibilities. When I paused to consider it at our age of retirement and grandchildren I could see that it still fits and could also see that we’ve been navigating in a similar way without realizing. That without the same pressures and responsibilities of our youth we can ‘afford’ to give much more into our grown children and grandchildren at this stage.
The way you dodged his sweet little toddler kick when you were playing with your son on the bed, I so relate. Playing with your boys is an agility test every time just to make it out in one piece. Every time I invite some rough housing with them I have to count the cost 😂

I made myself a home declutter challenge that will take me 11 weeks. We moved to this home in 2020 and had our daughter last June. We had put most things in our basement and then were given so much stuff for our little girl. I need to declutter the things that we don't need because I just can't handle it anymore
I love seeing your videos, they are so nice to watch and love your voiceover as well. All your videos and your sister’s videos are really relaxing to watch.

Housework can also just be repetitive drudgery and "wasting time" with entertainment can be helpful to keep one's morale up. Saying this as a homeschooling mother of five.
Have a question,... I am wondering why I never see the Berkey Water Filter you had at one time. It use to sit on the counter by the sink in the kitchen. Did you move or do you not use it any longer? Thank you. Enjoyed the video. I am a sucker for flowers.
As I have shared, we still have our Berkey but don't need it on a daily basis. We have a private well and had our water tested, it is very good so we have been happy to use it!
@@FarmhouseonBoone Apparently I missed when you shared your remarks about your Berkey. I apologize. It is nice you have a well and the water tested good. You are blessed. Have a good day!

Where do you get your flour storage bins with those red lids? I’m currently decluttering and rearranging my kitchen so it flows better and buying in bulk! Loooove your videos and I use so many of your sourdough recipes now!
I'm 60 years old. I've been married for 40 years and our priorities have always been our family, love, support, good nutrition and the ability to pay our bills (my husband works full time and I have always worked part time when my children each reached the age of 2). I have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. It's lovely to see that you also value these traditions. We've always cooked from scratch, with the very occasional takeaway or ready meal. We also grow some of our own produce. Herbs and fruit mainly. There's nothing like a home cooked meal. I'd rather cook something than eat out to be honest! BTW, I am extremely envious of your vintage American stove....I would love to own one. I'm from the UK and they're very expensive to import!
Lisa, we love kiwi co too and get 4 boxes a month. Tell me how you deal with all their creations! We are a family of six living in 900sqft. We cant keep each thing they make, but of course the children get attached to their creations and want to! How do you do it?
I really struggle with house chores. I’m thankful for my family. It’s frustrating seeing my friends and coworkers enjoy the fruit of their labor. They travel and do family activities. All me and my husband do is work AND still behind on bills
Honest question, how does Kiwico fit in with a simplified house? We have received subscriptions as gifts, or even received several boxes at once that relatives find unopened at second hand stores. My kids have the *hardest* time getting rid of the boxes, the special treasures, even the extra pieces from Kiwi stuff! HA! And we are a family that declutters -often-. Have you had to deal with this? How do you manage it? They are *crushed* when presented with the idea that the extra pieces are in fact trash, even after holding things for a while to let the newness wear off. It's really quite the struggle 😆
Between the rain and the piano, the audio in this video was so lovely.

I agree in the since that so much of our enjoyment and fulfillment comes from our mindset.
I love your homemaking videos. There is so much wisdom and truth in them. Thank you.
You are so pleasing to watch. Always a comfort to me.
Génial ! Merci merci merci, je galère un peu pour trouver comment faire facilement des animés et voilà, tu sors une autre vidéo avec des outils Canva que je ne connaissais pas, timing parfait !! ❤

Beautiful video, as always, Lisa! Thank you so much! ❤
As usual, love your braid!
Thank you so much 😀
Lisa, we love kiwi co too and get 4 boxes a month.
Traveling is not that fun
It is so expensive now and and people are using credit cards to do this which will increase stress at home.

Hey Lisa… how wonton get your basil to grow basil so beautiful? Do you have to replant each season?
Yes, we replant each year. No secret to it....basil seems to grow very easy here.
Where is your rug in your living room from? So cute!!
I found it on Facebook marketplace.
Another beautiful video! Loved the flower arrangement!
Thank you so much!
