To say the cavs would have smoked the dubs without kd in 2017 is crazy..... It was a reason they were up 3-1 in the first place. They was the better team but losing bogut was a huge blow, steph and iggy was not 100%, and they just flat out choked

I think it’s a mutiple of factors Team Loyalty and Competitive Balance: Durant’s move from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Golden State Warriors in 2016 is often cited as a major reason for the criticism he receives. Fans value loyalty and see his move as a betrayal, especially since the Warriors had just defeated the Thunder in the playoffs1. Additionally, joining an already dominant team was seen as damaging the competitive balance of the league.
Social Media Presence: Durant’s active social media presence and his use of burner accounts have been controversial. While some fans appreciate his unfiltered communication, others view it as unprofessional or overly sensitive2.
Leadership Style: Durant’s leadership style has been under scrutiny. He has stated that he doesn’t have the charismatic personality that many of his peers possess, which affects how he’s perceived as a leader3. Charles Barkley, for example, has openly called Durant a follower rather than a leader, which has influenced public opinion3.
Handling Criticism: Durant’s responses to criticism have also been a point of contention. He has been labeled as soft or emotional for defending himself, which some fans see as a lack of toughness2.
Especially considering how active Kevin is on social media 😂😂😂

The KD move pretty much gave Lebron James a Get Out Of Jail Free card for making superteams to most people (although they'd been giving him excuses already). The Warriors move pretty much gave Lebron fans the pass they were looking for because all the media could focus on a that point was KD and the Warriors.

Let’s just be clear about what we’re arguing about, cuz mfs seem to be having two different debates at once, and not realizing it. We not questioning his greatness. We questioning his placement as a top 15 player in history. KD’s a legendary player, but he’s not in the conversations of a Hakeem, of a Curry, of a LeBron, of a Kobe, of a Duncan, he not in there. Kevin Durant, (assuming he doesn’t win a third ring), is in the conversations of a Karl Malone, of a Jerry West, of a Oscar Robertson, of a Charles Barkley, and even of a Giannis. Let’s stop putting KD in conversations where KD just straight up doesn’t belong in. THAT’S the gripe

Its extremely bias. I tend to side with Lebron’s side if I had to pick in the situation. My rationale being there was no chance for Lebron to win out east, even more so on the Cavs. The ownership seemed to be really against getting him another piece to contend with. No matter how far he made it , he wouldnt win because the team construction of whoever were to come out of the west was too much. It was proved in 07 and he gave the Cavs 2 more seasons to show they were willing to work with him, they didnt. He created a monstrous team to get out of the east and contend with the west. KD however was in position to beat the then widely considered “GOAT team” and folded, and rather than run it back he joined (as the best scorer in the league) a 73-9 record team. Both situations aren’t highlights of theirs careers and should be looked down upon imo, but my point is one has far more legs of integrity to stand on. Neither move was good for basketball, but KD’s was spineless. There was literally no reason to leave OKC

Why does nobody hate the Steph, Klay and Dray for recruiting KD though? They are just as guilty. Draymond called KD in the locker room after game 7 in 2016. They were at his house in the Hamptons to get him to join. Idc about them wanting to add a great player to their roster. If they were that good, they would've ran it back as they were contructed. They werent confident that they could beat Lebron & Kyrie. Period.

Because they proved they could win before and after, they just grabbed the opportunity to make their team better.
The Cavs made a move for KD too. So Lebron, Love and Kyrie are bitches too?
The GS were that good, period. Still, if you replay the 2016 Finals 100 times GS wins probably 60% of them(That means they lose 40).
Why shouldnt they increase their chances if they had the cap space?

@@sergeistalin7916 To your first point, it was not simply about winning before and after KD. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown is not the reason they wanted KD. They got him for the Cavs.
GSW won in 2015 because the Cavs core players were injured in 2015. Give KD the Heat without Chris Bosh and D Wade and he has a ring in 2012. There's a reason GSW is 1-2 against Lebron without KD.
The Cavs are weak af too. The Cavs were already a superteam, so there was no need for KD. But KD wouldnt have joined them anyway because he had to avenge his loss to Lebron in 2012. That's why the Warriors made sense. They'd just lost to Lebron and KD lost to Lebron in the finals 4 years prior.
The Cavs had the Warriors number. The best player pre-KD in the Warriors/Cavs rivalry was Lebron. And Kyrie was arguably the 2nd best. GSW could've increased their chances by playing better than they did in the 2016 finals. Klay and Steph were trash for most of that series, but nobody talks about it.

@@smoothsavage2870 1) My point was they are not hated because their legacy wasnt built on KD, they already won and made 2 Finals, even got a 73/9 record while still having more money to upgrade the team. They already had a legacy. KD cheated his legacy by joining, thats why he is hated.
      2) And the Cavs won in 2016 because Curry, Iggy and Bogut were injured. So whats the point?
      3) Maybe, since for them is a job, teams are always looking to get better.
The Cavs and warriors in 2016 with injuries were a really close series, without injuries i put the warriors slightly over. Still is like a 60% chance to win. You expect them to flip a coin to decide if they win instead of improving their chances?
Would you have being fine if GS traded Barnes and a few pieces for PG instead?
      4) I agree they played like thrash, everything that could go wrong for GS went wrong. Still they were 1 shot away to win. Thats why their legacy is already set. They werent frauds that got lucky, they were legit.

@@sergeistalin7916 1) They got a 73 win record but also are the only team to blow a 3-1 lead in the finals. That would've been their legacy if KD didnt ruin his own to save theirs. KD joining them is the reason they didnt go on a 7 year drought for championships, because they werent beating Lebron (barring injuries).
      2) The Cavs won because they were the better team. Bogut isnt the one that needed to make shots. Steph and Klay were and they failed. 2 out of the Warriors 3 wins in that series were because of the role players and not Steph and Klay.
      3) The only person it's a job to is the FO. It's not the players job to call on other players to join their team after they just got their asses handed to them. That's weak no matter how you slice it.
      4) They were one shot away and neither of the folks that were the most important to making the shots could do it. Their legacy is only set because KD improved their chance of beating Lebron because he was the equalizer. KD is the only Warrior in the Steph era of the franchise's history that was as good or better than Lebron at any point.
