Mind you these be the same people that will bitch and moan that the warriors were unbeatable. Then in all these hypothetical they have the warriors losing 😂😂
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly.. the hate is real!!!
FACTS BRUH
Low IQ comment thread. Warriors were unbeatable to their contemporaries. The people you refer to that have them losing, aren’t speaking about their contemporaries in those hypotheticals.
That’s what I was saying. Lol first it’s warriors a super team. But a pistons team that won 1 championships out of 9 years together can beat them. But they not considered a super team themselves lol these are people that just want to disrespect the Warriors. And this other guy brought up Pat Bev and the 1 game he played ok in which they lost lol
GSW would demoralize them from the first half
Facts
Wishful thinking
Clamps!!!
This the dumbest argument of the year
Facts lol
How
💯
Marz is the only one that is looking at facts over feelings. Yes the pistons were an all time defense but the warriors are an all time offense the pistons never played against.
The warriors are closer to the pistons defensively than the pistons are to the warriors offensively.
Facts aka bias😂
The question comes down to the rules under 00s the warriors will struggle to score 70 points
With current rules it gets tricky becuase you have to imagine how much BETTER the pistons scorers will be with a lack of physical pressure
And have access to Moving screens and gather steps and a lack of carring rules
Explain how a rule change (that didn't effect much for guards, I'd anything, made it easier for guards to play offensively at the time) would change those three bombing it from the 3 point line?
And offensively better? The pistons were a dogshit offensive team even for their time. And now you suddenly think they are going to be way better?
The gap defensively is significantly shorter than the gap offensively. Gsw in 4

@@vernonherbyou’re delusional lol.
The 2017 Warriors went 16-1. Only the 01 Lakers accomplished this. People underrating them smh.
Meanwhile, 04 Pistons were taken to 7 games against the Nets
Meanwhile the pistons didnt have 4 hall of famers*
The Lakers also swept that Nets team that took the Pistons to 7. The Pistons gentlemen swept the Lakers. Triangle theories don't work..
But the gentleman swept the lakers. Make it make sense

@@DD-rk6kn 15-1 don’t make sense.

If it was 15 that would mean they won a series at 3 games.
That hasn’t been a thing since the 80s
Yall talking about Darwin Ham & Lindsey Hunter vs the fucking 2017 warriors?! Huh?!
🤣🤣🤣
your trolling or actually stupid if you think 2004 pistons has chance against 2017 warriors
Marz broke it down perfectly. The gap in scoring with the 3 point shooting makes it hard to compare across eras. Shooting 33% from 3 is the same as 50% from 2. Warriors will shoot well above 33% from 3 so its going to be hard to exchange 2s for 3s. Warriors will win. If you say a team like Pistons will now just match them and shoot much more 3s, then you have now changed the way they played as a team and their offense
@Oppenheimer1967 good point Oppie!!
Love how people forget andre igoudala was still on that warriors team
Iggy played for Philly in the mid 2000s and got cooked by Rasheed and the Pistons.
@@conchobarthat’s a younger Iggy with on a way worse team. With all due respect to Rasheed and the 04 pistons, they aren’t beating that 17 warriors team. The warriors can demolish you in so many ways the 3s are just overkill honestly
GSW in 4 and they break the record for largest margin of victory ever 😂
Ong😂
What’s crazy is I believe they already hold that record against the Cavs who would also smoke the pistons 😂 prime lebron and kyrie needed to score nearly 140 points to win ONE game against them, yet the pistons who were complete dog shit on offense are gonna win 4? The absolute FUCK out of here 🤦🏽♂️
This is PURE NOSTALGIA, 2017 warriors has 30pts curry, 30pts KD, 20pts Klay that's already 80 pts from 3 guys.. Pistons averaged what 90?
this is a weird way to look at things
@@MarzTalksSports Did you see how hot the Celtics got from 3 during game 1 of the finals? If the warriors started shooting deep threes and made 35%-40% of them they will be up at least 20pts by half time. That pistons team can't compete with the modern NBA. They get swept easily.
@@pkagent14 i never said who wins. i just said that was a weird way to look at things
@@MarzTalksSports Your good. All I'm saying is that nobody from the pre-2010 era is gonna be able to comprehend why Steph, Klay, and KD are shooting so many deep threes. Imagine steph making Logo threes on a team from 2004. They would be mind-blown. Remember back in 2014/15 when steph started doing that it was insane to see. Now its part of the game 😂.
@@MarzTalksSports It's always been about who can score? This why most people picked the celtics over the mavs, it's math. If we doing prediction models then why not use math instead of feelings?

Not really saying people will step out shows you don’t really know how big a difference 2 feet is between the 3 and middy of Chauncey could step out so would people like Tim Duncan demar Mj artis Gilmore Kareem Kevin mchale Shaun Livingston and way more people would be good 3pt shooters by his logic
@@krazykrazy8513the difference is Chauncey actually shot and made 3s so when he took those long 2s he was “settling”. Duncan & Kareem never shot 3s.
@@AreT-me7vwtayshaun prince would be a knockdown 3 pt shooter in this era too
Man it’s always fuck Golden State, but I gotta admit It took the league years to adjust to THAT level of shooting and offensive power. It’s RIDICULOUS to think any team in history would be able to figure them out and beat them in a 7 game series when they have never seen shooting like that ever
So the kd warriors broke the league but the 04 pistons 01 lakers 90s bulls etc can all beat them? Are they unbeatable or not

This is just crazy, the Pistons were a great team at protecting the rim, GS was the most versatile and unstoppable offensive team of all time.
Shooting 33% from 3 is the same as 50% from 2, those Warriors shot 40% from 3 as a team against opponents that learned how to guard 3 pointers.
The Pistons just wouldnt know how to stop that team.
They would let them shoot and get cooked, then they would overplay to stop the 3s and give up open dunks every possesion, then they would start to switch everything and they would get stucked with Chauncey Billups guarding KD on the post or Ben Wallace guarding Curry on ISO at 35 feet. That plus the most off ball movement that they had ever seen.
04 Pistons are getting SWEPT…I watched lebron single handedly walk them down. It’s just a different game

I understand it was a slow week because of no basketball but let’s be real lmao. Pistons would struggle to crack 70 curry and kd might combine for that. Ben Wallace would be dragged out the paint and he’s getting SAGGED off on offense
Thr Pistons held teams to under 70. They scored in the 90s.
Ben Wallace can defend the perimeter quite well actually. If playing with more pace the Pistons score more. If slowing the pace, the Warriors score less. I don't think Curry can guard Chauncey Bill ups because of size and how Chauncey plays him and Green will be in foul trouble. If KD scores 30 on Tayshaun Prince, they aren't playing good team offense and it's an ugly 30. Rip can do everything Klay can. No answer at all for Sheed. Would love to actually see it.
Ben Wallace stays in the paint on offense... He can dunk... Can't just allow him to keep dunking on you... When teams tried not guarding him he will continue to dunk on you and you will lose... It has happened before lol

Ima continue to say this. These pistons lost to the spurs the next year because Robert horry’s spacing…the kd warriors have better spacing than them…and im from Detroit
Rasheed Wallace averaged 13ppg in the playoffs in 04
Yeah seriously, people talk about him like he was a consistent 25 per game scorer. He was skilled for his era but the further we get from that era the more people overrate him and others.
And he shot 24% from 3 in the 04 playoffs yet these dudes saying the warriors r gonna have to run him off the 3 point line😭
The pace was slower then and the game was different. If you add possessions and pick up the pace and play modern offense older players would have more numbers and shoot better from the field like current players. Sheed has averaged 20 as a PF in that era. With no big body to stop him, the offense would cater more to him. Against that team he certainly averages around 25, maybe more.
Sheed 3s on that team were usually shot clock shit and bad shots. He typically can knock down threes at a fairly high rate. He won them some games off 3 pt shooting. If the Pistons played in this era honestly they would be a lot better offensively.
@@NothingElseMattersJM the convo was about the 04 pistons so obviously I’m gonna use what he shot in the 04 playoffs since that’s the version of these players the convo is about…it ain’t that hard to comprehend bud
So basically the pistons who were a bad offense in they own era. Would adapt and be a good offense against GSW.
But the elite defense of the warriors would have no chance of adapting against the pistons.
Crazy how GSW is the on trick pony with 4 titles.
But the pistons with aren't
It was kd and livingston from the midrange. The 16 warriors were 3 point heavy. That's why they added kd
The warriors were beating teams in 3 quarters. Warriors in 4
Are the 2004 pistons even beating the 2017 Cavs?
No lol.
If were to analogize this in terms of NFL, this would be like a team having Randy Moss, Antonio Brown, Tony Gonzales, Mike Alstott, solid O Line, Tom Brady, and an advanced reactive offensive scheme; and believing that the 1985 Chicago Bears would shut them down.
We mythologize these old teams to an excessive degree, even making way for some favorable counterfactuals but never do the same in the reverse.
Ex. "If person X was in today's era, they would average 50 Points"!!!! Nobody ever asks how good Prime Kawhi would be as an individual defender with 1990 rules and schemes.
I've debated people on Reddit who said MJ would be a 40% 3Pt shooter in today's era. How Sway?! He shot 32.7% from 3 with more judicious shot selection.
Some really toxic debates after the MJ doc came out. 😂😂😂
@@NothingElseMattersJM OK so he gets those coaches and becomes a great three point shooter. What skills are you taking away? Time is finite, and the time he is alloting to his three point game is taking away from other skills.
The problem with people who argue this is that they want to give MJ the elite 3 point shot, while holding all his other skills static, which is unreasonable.
GS dog walking the Pistons. Prime Steph, Klay, Kd and Dray 😂 like huh
2004 Pistons didn't even repeat. Why compare them to one of the greatest dynasty of all time SMH

@@Travdustnigga no. Cause the lakers 3peated before that & lakers literally repeated & spurs got multiple. 03,05,07. Like cmon.

I dont think people understand how crazy that warriors team was even though it was top heavy because of steph everyones job becomes so much easier
For ticket to say that the warriors struggled with the clippers in 2019 is insane work fr. They beat them in 5 games and in one of those games KD went off for like 40 something.
It's not just one team shooting 3s and one team shooting mid-range jumpers. That mid range team is also getting more "and 1s" leading to shooting more free throws. That is also causing foul trouble for the other team. Going to the foul line will also assist in greater offensive consistency, as opposed to the 3 game which can be more hot or cold.
The problem that is that GS is going to be more efficient in the midrange and at the paint too.
Shooting 33% from 3 is the same as 50% from 2. Warriors shot 40% as a team in an era in which teams already learned that they had to guard the 3 and how to at least avoid easy 3s.
GS doesnt matter if they are hot or not from 3, against them you have to always guard them as if they are hot because letting them make 2 shots can end in Klay or Curry scoring 8 3s in a row.
That creates missmatch problems and openings in rotations.
Marz is right , they talk like warriors played iso ball 😂 they moved the ball twice as nice as pistons moved on defense which is all time level
We don't know how old teams would play under the new rules, but we do know how modern NBA teams play under the older rules. FIBA and Olympic rules are just older NBA rules. Steve Kerr coached Team USA to a 4th place finish in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. So its fairly easy to assume the 2004 Pistons would nearly sweep 2017 GSW under the older rules.
Thank you marz
Tayshawn Prince did not stop Kobe by himself, they were triple teaming Kobe in the 04 Finals, Kobe just wouldn't pass the ball 😅😅😅

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Now after post-injuries, people forget KD to the point that comparing JT to KD is funny.
Lebron in 2006 took the 64 win piston team to 7 games with nobodies there’s no way in hell that they could match up with the 2017 warriors they would beat the breaks off em
Lebron should be asked this question
Assuming that the 2004 Pistons offense and defense are integrated into the modern offense, this Pistons team is uniquely structured like a modern NBA team with Rasheed Wallace being able to hit the 3, and Tayshawn Prince being like an OG Anunoby. I think the Warriors with KD there wins this series in 6, which is a credit and respect to how good of a defense and the potential flexibility of that Pistons team.
Pistons are a worse version of the 2008 Celtics trying to stay relevant by milking 1 ring. A young Dwade was giving them work in the 2005 playoffs before he got hurt and I think the Heat could’ve beat them if they were healthy.
For people speaking on 1 ring for the Celtics and or Pistons is ignorance at its finest. It's hard to repeat on any level of athletics if it's completive. It's plenty top 50 or 75 players to go ringless and yall talking about 1 ring smh. Straight up clueless causuals everything I see a take as such.
@@user-dq6kc1rx1ishut up.
Detroit is getting smoked. 4-1 at best. Don't care if it was today's rules or 2004 rules. Nobody on that Piston's team poses such a significant threat offensively and it's too much fire power to stop.
If the Warriors can be beaten by the Pistons, it's probably time to stop classifying them as a super team. Because nobody has the Pistons as an all time great team.
Marz is exactly right. Yes, teams can adjust, but the biggest difference between today's game and previous eras is the understanding of the game. There are no rules against teams building what the Pistons had in 04. The reason teams don't build that way anymore is because 1v1 matchups are far less viable when teams are able to run 2 man on an island and the help defender is punished with open threes. People are calling Gobert a fraud for not being able to guard Luka in space. Teams switch because guards can shoot over screens and the coaches have realized that if you set screens further back the guard can drive into a 3pt pull up instead of a deep middy. The Pistons would have to make many adjustments like possibly sitting DPOY Ben Wallace because Curry and Draymond are nasty on the high ball screen and Wallace is never gonna be near the rim.
Ticket stop it

KD would be the x factor for the 17 warriors
04 pistons in 7 this would be an interesting series. Chauncey vs steph would be interesting.
Look I love that pistons team I swear I do, but we are truly forgetting who 2017 Kevin Durant was if you think tayshaun prince has a realistic chance of guarding him than have at it. The warriors are spacing the court out someone will get open on screen and then just like that series over what are we doing?
I’m usually with ticket but the pistons could not score against the warriors enough
I love them early 2000’s Pistons teams but they trippin balls my boy. Not the 17 GSW. Their bench was also the 2016 bench that helped get 73 games. How is Ben Wallace defending 5 out???
This old dudes got taught by a young bull in grey hoodie 😂
I feel like it would be a good serious but I’m be honest I think the warriors win in 6 the space and gravity that Steph pulls is crazy and add on Kd,Klay and Iggy there going to either put 2 eyes on Steph or Kd which leaves shooters and cutters for open shots and easy looks.
Old school offense would be better based off lack of defense alone plus they switch too much
Lindsay Hunter was a excellent defender
Andre Iggy makes a difference too

04 pistons are so underrated! With chauncey as one of the best floor generals of his era, big ben the 4x dpoy, sheed one of the prototype stretch fours, rip's constant movement and bucket-getting, and tayshaun as a top tier wing defender, those guys were a problem!
