Aldi Dinner Fav in our house ... Crockpot - 4 hours on high Chicken breasts, 1 jar of Alfredo sauce, 1 car of Marinara sauce. When crockpot time is almost up cook 1lb of rigatoni pasta. Drain. Shred chicken. Add pasta. Enjoy ! We serve with garlic knots or Texas toast and a side salad. All ingredients from aldi and so delicious @
Corn can be considered either a grain or a vegetable, based on when it is harvested. The maturity level of corn at harvest affects both its use at meals and its nutritional value.
This is one of my fav videos you’ve done because I realized I typically do all this on my own (in my head) and it’s fun to feel like we’re doing it together😂 I also LOVE hearing dinner ideas from other families!
🍎🍎🍎 on our Aldi trips we always have to pick up a few of the big choceur chocolate bars. Less than $2 and huge, perfect for having a little square here or there when you have a craving!
I solo parent a toddler, and we have finally gotten to the point where my daughter can have a lot of the food we can. It makes meal prep and cooking soooo much easier.
I'm very familiar with your go to recipes (and I myself cook many of them) = me yelling at the TV "no, its the curry chickpeas you put eggs on!". But I'm sure it was good on the chickpea stew too 😂🍎🍎🍎
LOL, my favorite meals growing up was Sloppy Joe's with tater tots and Hamburger Helper. On Fridays we always had fish sticks with mac and cheese. Simple comfort meals were the best!
I’m so glad I’m not the only one buying clothes 1-2 sizes up for my little. 😅 They just grow so fast! Love this style of video, thanks for the company today Jess! 💗
Raise your hand if Jessica taught you that corn isn’t a vegetable. …double raise your hand if you googled this and now realize a LOT of things you thought were vegetables are not and now your mind is blown 🍎🍏🍎🍏🍏🍏🍎🍎🍎
It *is* a vegetable (starchy vegetable) when it's ripe, filled with water and fresh. This is how we tend to eat it anyway. When it's more mature and dry, it is considered a grain.
Botanically, corn is a fruit but it is most commonly referred to as either a vegetable or a grain. According to the USDA, whether corn is classified as a vegetable or grain depends on when it is harvested. When corn is considered a vegetable, it is harvested when it is soft and fresh.
Aldi cranberry chicken salad for a quick lunch (I like the mini 4 pack) and they have snack packs of mozzarella balls (three balls per pack) are the perfect quick snack with tomatoes
I just love a realistic grocery haul! 🍎🍎🍎 Yes we’re getting organic & whole grain, aaaaaand we will also be getting breadsticks & cheese. The perfect balance.
Sloppy Joe’s side is carrots and on that side is macaroni and cheese. For the tortellini soup wilt a bunch of spinach during the last little bit of cooking time. 🧑🏻🍳🤌🏻
Aldi has a great organic granola with flax and pumpkin seeds or a chia and coconut mix that we love. For breakfast we add a scoop of organic whole milk plain yogurt and some blueberries or fresh fruit on top. I love there protein bread, makes a great snack with a slice of cheese and some carrot or cucumber slices. They have a great selection of organic pasta's and quinoa as well as brown rice options. Sloppy Joes are so easy to make. 1lb of the aldi grass fed ground beef, browned with some diced onion, garlic and green or red pepper. Mix ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, worchestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
I’m watching this washing my daughter’s makeup brushes for her & I hear you say, “Here I am in the toddler section!” & it just hit me how much I miss those days when I had a reason to be in the Baby/Toddler section😢So please thoroughly enjoy your time in the Baby/Toddler section because it doesn’t last forever!❤
The sausage is near the milk and yogurt with the bacon the refrigerator section at my Aldi is bacon/sausage, butter margerine, sour cream, chip dip, flavored coffee, coffee creamer, milk and eggs, hope that helps.❤❤❤❤
I love the Italian loaf bread from Aldi! There’s only like 4 ingredients. They are super good for grilled sandwiches! Only bad thing is they go bad pretty quickly so I’ll put it in the freezer a lot of the time.
This soup is so delicious and a crowd pleaser. I just make it without sausage and sometimes add peas. I have made it for people who don’t like soup OR pasta and they loved it
Hi Jess! The sausage is in the same cooler as the bacon at Aldi Edited to add…you guys should visit the Fair Life farm in Indiana. It’s called Fair Oaks. It’s prob about 2 hours north of Indy right off I65. I took mine when they were little and there’s so much to do. I recommend their harvest festival in the fall. Also the hotel is fun too, the rooms are farm themed. Edited to add again … 🍎🍎🍎 Also, try the chocolate brioche buns. They’re exactly like Starbucks (imo). Put them in the microwave for 10 secs and they’re a delicious quick dessert.
We Love Aldi too and thankfully our Meijer is basically right across the street from Aldi so I’m always hitting up both. We get all our lunch meat, sliced cheese, salami from Aldi. The ground Italian sausage for the tortellini soup is near the fresh fish and pork items.
Hi Kessica, do you use a chopper? I use one and now my daughter who is much older eats it all. I also put my onions and garlic in the food processor and all other veggies in the chopper by the time the veggies cool sometime you can barely see them. I also hide carrots and green peppers or sweet peppers and very small chopped carrots in our taco meat and she doesn’t have a clue!!!! Don’t worry their palate will change everytime they try something new more than once. Then they will be eating you out of your house😅 Have a great day!!!
Enjoyed. Felt very real and also how easy it could be when you plan the full week. The Alexa tip was veeeery much appreciated. Perfect for our household. Love these videos 🍎🍎🍎
Loved this style of video way more than expected! I actually don't shop at Aldi anymore because in my city, we have a local grocery store that is even cheaper and always has the best produce in town! 🍎🍎🍎
I don’t use sloppy joes sauce for sloppy joes. You just brown your ground meat of choice with chopped onions and bell pepper salt peppper onion powder garlic powder and paprika. Then add a couple big squirts of ketchup, 2 tablespoon sized squirts of mustard, 2 tablespoons sized scoops of Brown sugar. A few dashes of wsauce and apple cider vinegar 2 or 3 tablespoons. Mix it together and taste. Adjust seasonings if needed. Toast hamburger buns under the broiler and I like a slice of American cheese on mine. So easy and you most likely have all the ingredients on hand. So yum😊
Corn is a veggie. It’s just a high starch veggie . This is true of potatoes too. That’s important for people who are things like diabetes but they are still veggies. It also is why they are on the starch section on the MyPlate by the USDA.
We LOVE the street corn dip. I also enjoy a lot of their cheese selections. The mozzarella is actually pretty great. We always get the multi grain tortilla chips as well. Crowd favorite!
My husband and I weekly meal plan and we find it helpful to write the meals down in a shared note on our phone so we can reference separately when texting about dinner and we check off the options we've made
Best "homemade" sloppy joe recipe that's super easy and delicious. 2-3lbs of ground beef (about 2 1/2 lbs is best) diced onion super small and diced green bell pepper super small. Saute onion and pepper and then add ground beef. Sloppy joe mix: 1 can tomato soup, 1 bottle chili sauce (you find it right next to the ketchup and cocktail sauce), 1 tsp of sugar, 1 tsp of white vinegar. Once meat is browned, drain meat and mix in sauce. Simmer for 10-15 min and serve!
Pro tip for Aldi 😂 put your bags in the trolley at the register and put the groceries straight into the bags at the tills , it saves having to pack them again 😊
🍎🍎🍎 Aldi does carry the roll of ground sausage, it's in the refrigerated section where the hot dogs and bacon are. But it's all the way at the bottom so it's easily missed. The packaging is tan and brown I believe. Also, the good chocolate chips(actually they are chunks) are in a black bag with red writing. They don't always have them but they are delicious!!
Jessica, that Irish butter is the better butter ever! I put it on some chocolate chip muffins fresh from the bakery this morning. Thank you for recommending it.😊
13:55 somebody else might have already mentioned this, but I believe the evenflo revolve should be in the normal position even if there isn’t a child in it while driving ❤
Hey jess, if you didnt knowz if your garden tomatoes have any pink to them at all coming in you can pick them and put them in a paper bag wirh a banana and theyll be fipe in a couple days 😊 (i think you can with green ones too but not guaranteed to ripen)
🍎 🍏 🍎 I’m in Portland Oregon and don’t live near an Aldi’s or meijer. I am looking forward to shopping for a tent camping trip the week after next. It’s from Wednesday - Saturday. It’s with my church but it will be about 40 - 70 people. I will be sharing a tent with a friend. That’s the one time I enjoy cooking is at camp but always simple meals. My favorite is a BLT for lunch. We can make the bacon & toast at breakfast and have a small cooler bag and add the butter and mayo to the toast and put tomato’s and lettuce in a bag then take it with us hiking. Then put it together when we are ready to eat. It’s yummy.
We use pitas for pizza, so that could be a good alternate if you can't find puff pastry. Also you set off my Alexa and added something to my shopping list. 😂
🍎 🍏 🍎 ice cream!!! Love all your style videos! You just put me in a good mood and it makes me mad when people complain about things in them! I don’t think you need to change anything!
The ground pork is in the frozen section at Aldi. Also, you have to try the chocolates. Specifically any of the ones that come with the little individual bars. The closest to real German chocolate you can find.
I know Aldi used to carry sloppy joe mix, but we actually started making our own a few years ago. It's easy, uses ingredients we always have on hand and it's really yummy: 1 c ketchup 1/4 c water 2 T brown sugar 2 t Worcestershire sauce 2 t yellow mustard 1/2 t garlic powder 1/2 t onion powder 1/2 t salt 🤗
🍎🍎🍎 The pumpkin & butternut squash pasta sauce from Aldi once their fall items come in! Tastes similar to the Trader Joe’s autumnal harvest sauce but a bit sweeter. Absolutely delicious!
My favorite item at Aldi, which is weirdly tough to find in other stores, is meatloaf mix. It’s a mixture of beef, pork, and veal and makes the best meatballs or meatloaf!
Aldi does sell the sausage in a roll. It is in with bacon, rope sausage, butter and cream cheese at my Aldi store. I buy it quite often. To make egg roll bowl. A favorite at our house. The lime tortilla chips at Aldi are really good as well.

That quarter/cart exchange at an Aldi parking lot is the best. Love when that happens to me.🤗
Aldi has a Kerrygold dupe that is so good!
In most areas I believe the Aldi ‘Irish Butter’ is actually made by Kerrygold.. check the ingredient list, but it could be another easy money saver!
My greatest Aldi must-haves are the white cheddar popcorn, strawberry vanilla probiotic soda, and the small batch wide pan sourdough
I solo parent a toddler, and we have finally gotten to the point where my daughter can have a lot of the food we can. It makes meal prep and cooking soooo much easier.
The Aldi sausage is usually on the bottom shelf by the bacon/turkey bacon section. Usually in fridges by the dairy products 💞💞

Good to know - where do you find them at Aldi?
In the ready-to-go section (take & bake pizzas, microwave ready meals, etc). Turmeric shots are great too!
@@maddykunshier6410 I need to try those. 🌟

Well my mom took me to Weight Watchers in 5th grade, so I've been knowing this a while. But regardless, it's lame and corn is yum.

Our family really likes the French Toast Brioche bagels toasted with the Aldi brand Irish butter.

Never been to Aldi, but now I want to go! I’m here for the comments on what I should pick up 😊 great video, really liked this style Jessica! 🍎🍎🍎
I’m finally in an area where it’s not a trek to go to Aldi. I’ll have to actually shop there. 🍎🍎🍎 Love chatty videos, thanks for sharing Jess!!
Coleslaw is a good side to sloppy joes😋
The Tortellini soup is sooo good! We add shredded carrots, kale and mushrooms to ours.
I love the Italian loaf bread from Aldi! There’s only like 4 ingredients. They are super good for grilled sandwiches! Only bad thing is they go bad pretty quickly so I’ll put it in the freezer a lot of the time.
Same with their small batch sour dough!
Corn is Considered a starchy vegetable when consumed fresh, as in corn on the cob. It is considered a grain when it is dried and ground.
I'm so glad Jess linked that tortellini soup recipe! She's talked about it for ages and I've always wanted to try it!
I screen shotted it ages ago and now it is my go to comfy soup.. I LOVE IT
It’s delicious I’ve made it from them many times. It makes a lot for 2 people but it’s very tasty.
My family lovesssss this soup!! We make it at least once a month-every two months.

I don’t use sloppy joes sauce for sloppy joes. You just brown your ground meat of choice with chopped onions and bell pepper salt peppper onion powder garlic powder and paprika.
The cauliflower crust pizzas in the refrigerator section at Aldi are amazing!
I agree on the Meijer cottage cheese. It's the only one that I will buy. I feel the same way about Meijer milk.
It’s yummy.
🍎 🍎🍎 I appreciated the Aldi haul. I never shop there because I forget to, so you’ve motivated me to try.
Wild to me that school has started there! Here in MN we start the day after Labor Day every year 🍎🍎🍎 Love the meal planning inspo
We use pitas for pizza, so that could be a good alternate if you can't find puff pastry. Also you set off my Alexa and added something to my shopping list. 😂
At my Aldi the sausage is in one of the wall fridges near the meat but separate-either on the top or bottom shelf. Hope that helps!
🍎🍎🍎 Love the lemon and lime versions of the cookie thins from Aldi!
🍎🍎🍎I love the chocolate granola in the bag down the Aldi cereal aisle! It's a perfect late night sweet treat that's a little healthier
🍎 🍎 🍎 Love the Aldi calzones for lunches. Thank you for another great video, Jessica! 💖
🍎 🍏 🍎 ice cream!!! Love all your style videos! You just put me in a good mood and it makes me mad when people complain about things in them! I don’t think you need to change anything!
Loved this! Thanks for sharing
The ground pork is in the frozen section at Aldi.
Also, you have to try the chocolates. Specifically any of the ones that come with the little individual bars. The closest to real German chocolate you can find.
🍎 🍎🍎 I really wish we had an Aldi near us. Great video!!!! Loved it!
I know Aldi used to carry sloppy joe mix, but we actually started making our own a few years ago. It's easy, uses ingredients we always have on hand and it's really yummy:
1 c ketchup
1/4 c water
2 T brown sugar
2 t Worcestershire sauce
2 t yellow mustard
1/2 t garlic powder
1/2 t onion powder
1/2 t salt
🤗
🍎🍎🍎 Sourdough bread. Thank you for the meal ideas. We have saved so much at Aldi as well 😁
🍎🍎🍎 love love love that seed bread. I had that with avocado and eggs this morning when I started watching!
Rainier cherries are the best!
Aldi does sell the sausage in a roll. It is in with bacon, rope sausage, butter and cream cheese at my Aldi store. I buy it quite often. To make egg roll bowl. A favorite at our house. The lime tortilla chips at Aldi are really good as well.
I need to start shopping at aldi more! 🍎🍎🍎
