You know whats cool. As a singer, you need to be as relaxed as possible. All of the hand movements or facial expressions people tend to do are either for show or bc they didn't learn to vocalize correctly. He also lowered the key so he didn't have to strain, which is respectable as hello and smart for your vocal chords. This guy is a genius.

Lewis has such a deeply rooted and strong voice that really contains a personal story with many emotions, I think this is why hes so popular and why many people enjoy being able to listen to his music and feel calm even if they dont relate "specifically" to the message in the song.
I find it is rare to find a singer today that hasn't had some alterations to their songs (voice double, tuning etc). Lewis is a true natural. Its stunning to hear him sing with such soul and gravitas

I lost my lady to suicide on Thanksgiving, and as a song says, I left my guard down, just when I was getting used to being someone she loved. The song really hit home for me, I thank you for this with all my heart, I just wished I could have been her someone to love forever.. please remember suicide prevention and mental illness, is a very serious issue that we have in America today.

This guy is just genuine. His accent is who he is to the core. If you tried to clean up the pronunciations, you would gut the song of all of the emotion that flows out of him.
