    If you ever decide to do lease purchase, always go with companies that pay percentage rather than per mile. You got loads out here that are 167 miles that pay 915.00 (furniture). Getting paid 1.25 per mile for that load would have been trash. Even based off the national average you are still getting underpaid.

    • @aviatortrucker6285
      @aviatortrucker6285 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PhucYuBich Percentage also sucks if the rates are low. You need to figure out how much you’re going to make, how much total time, including fueling and pre-trip hours and then figure out your dollar per hour. Many people are not considering the taxes and other expenses. They have when they say what they get paid. The first year I did my lease I wrote off everything and still, my accountant told me I owed the IRS $9800. One other thing to remember when you are 1099 or a lease operator you will have a very hard time if any being able to obtain a mortgage because the amount of money you report to the IRS will be what they consider your income is. Even though I had a mortgage house and sold it I claimed in 2016 that I only made $15,000 for the year. In 2017 I filed a $750 loss. Needless to say I had to become a W-2 employee for six months to be able to show a finance company that I am able to pay a mortgage.

    I appreciate the video. Sorry you had to experience what you did. The honest truth with lease purchase is that the company controls your success; not you. If you depend on them for miles, then they have the control.
    Your sacrifice isn’t in vain, though. People will find your video and think twice about leasing. Others will still do it, anyway. I hope you are doing better now, and I wish you well.

    I’ve worked for companies that do leasing. It was the biggest rip off because you’re buying yourself a job with no benefits. When they tried twice to give me a load under 600 miles which were set to work four days, pick up 69 miles away, load the next day and deliver three days later on 545 loaded miles I told him that I cannot pay for this truck with that kind of run. I told them you find me big miles or you send me a bus ticket. I don’t put up with that shit no more.

    The lease purchase drivers at Swift who make a little money are the ones training students. That's what the program is designed to channel you into doing. But if you do train then at the end of your lease you will have a truck that for four years has been beat up by students who grind your gears, lug your motor, and bounce over curbs. It won't be worth the balloon note.
    I was a company driver at Swift for four years. I lived in their truck to save money. No rent. No light bill. No car payment. When I left I bought my own truck and went to Landstar. You will never get ahead by doing the same thing every one else is doing.

I mean I guess if you have no family then going over the road for $500 a week still let you make a living and if you're not paying any bills and living out of your truck then I guess you could stack some cash. But the only type of videos I ever hear are bad ones. Rarely do I hear a good video about trucking. It's always just garbage. Get people continually go to these companies even when they have been forewarned by multiple videos from other people.

    Bro. If your leasing, your not an OO. It is a scam. You will end up owing about 10K to 15 K at the end of the year to make a couple hundred dollars per week extra. Plus you still work for them. Exclusive. You cant take any loads from anyone else. I drove for 20 years and tried 2 different Leases, both were a scam. Ben out of Trucking for 15 years doing Air conditioning. Dude I would’ve quit as soon as I got that first negative check. You shouldn’t work all week to be negative. I’m at Roehl only getting 1k on a good week… as a flatbedder. I hate the pay here and am trying to leave. You’d be better off sitting at home watching tv from the sound of it. They’re just using you to pay their truck payment. Also I thought $2 per mile was on the low end for loads so how are they paying you $1.25? Are they taking some of the pay and still sticking you with the bills? I’d be trying to sue. I’m pretty sure there was a class action lawsuit against felony express for their predatory lease program.

    Do not take loads that are 1.15 mile get a new driver manager. Also mileage is based on map mileage which is based on city to city not actual mileage. The trucking industry rips scams and steals everyone s actual miles. They should be sued for not paying every single mile you run. It is like they are not paying you overtime for hours work. Truck drivers need to sue these and every company for lost wages and you can prove it by your actual miles verses paid miles. Start suing for actual miles. You will win and the companies will have to pay not for the unpaid miles but damages!!!

I made 103K in 20 2296K last year and I’m tracking about 90 this year. Are you doing better than that leasing a truck? • @frontlinewitness

      I'm going to prime for Tanker and thinking of doing their lease/purchase program. Here's why. I'm good with money, already have an LLC and can put money back for emergencies. No credit check or down payment for a new truck, no forced dispatch, go home whenever, walk away from the lease any time and go company without any financial backlash. Now, the truck payment is expensive at 1-1.2k/week, BUT that includes maintenance (Blown tire, breakdown, electric issues, tow, breakdown pay etc.) that payment also includes insurance, an emergency fund, and its a 3year note, meaning the truck is paid off and yours at the end of that 3 years, this is Prime, not swift so maybe swift is different. Now, yes, you can go buy a new truck, but how many people have 25-30k CASH to put down, plus a great credit score, your monthly payment will also be lower buying a new truck, BUT you're gonna be paying it off for 7-8yrs, by that time you probably already got over 500k miles on it, vs having it paid off in 3 years. Yes, you can buy an older truck cheaper, but many brokers and companies require a truck be under 10 years old.

      @@frontlinewitnessI don't get it so if your truck payment is $1,200 a weak and you only make $3,000 a week as a owner operator leased then how does that work. That would leave you with 1800 dollars left over before taxes and all of that. I mean if that's all you got to pay for it then I guess that ain't bad because after taxes you would have maybe $1500. I try to watch these videos but I still get confused on how all of that Leasing and owner operator stuff works. I'll be out of a kind of one owner operator does but I just get confused whenever they talk about being an owner operator but still working under a company

    Two weeks and you only made $50?! I call BS. It sounds like you aren't cut out for trucking. No offense, but all you've done is complain. No company will make their drivers *lose* money. If that were the case, they'd lose everyone overnight. Trucking is a people business. If you are complaining constantly, your dispatch will gravitate to other drivers. It's just the way it is. I know two lease drivers for Swift who clear $3k per week. Will you become the next Elon Musk or Bill Gates driving a truck? No. But you aren't going to go in the hole or only make $50 in two weeks. Sorry. I don't buy it. Stay safe out there.

Just like the casino advertised jackpots. Get a grip. There's a sucker born every minute. The criminal minds behind Trucking is a fascinating and clever money grab.
