They follow like clans, following the strongest and sometimes the smartest Mandolorian amongst them. But following by royalty just makes them like any other humanoid race.
Evan Light I also hate that they made seem like they were just an Aryan-looking race in TCW and I know they kinda fixed it in Rebels. The first Mandalorians were the Taung species who followed the strongest wisest among them but as time passed they accepted other who craved battle and the Mandalorians became a cultural identity. Anyone, be it Twi’lek, Sullustan or whatever the fuck Unkar Plutt is, with a penchant for combat and caring for family and friends can be Mando. That's what I love about them. So far Disney hasn't fucked them up completely and I hope to Kad Ha’rangir they do The Mandalorian show justice.
Unfortunately all the information we had on the Mandolorians (Outside the films, and CW) is no longer cannon so.... The writers have more creative freedom to do whatever they want.
23:44 He does not change into Alec Guiness's pose. He's actually adopting Qui Gon's battle stance. It's a gambit to lure Maul, who is a character entirely driven by what happened on the day he lost to Obi Wan and who's most salient flaw is his pride, to attempt the same moves that worked on his master. So when he goes for the hilt bash to the face, Obi Wan is ready for it and promptly kills him.
@@maxrebo2466 why does it make a difference how old it is? It doesn't change what was said, nor the message made to the viewers. It also doesn't change how people feel about the show or the video so of course they will still argue.

Obi-Wan’s switch from the two-finger pose in Twin Suns to the “defensive pose” is actually way cooler than just channeling his shift to Alec Guinness’s personality of Obi-Wan. The pose he switches to is the same as Qui-Gon’s. It’s almost as if he is saying to Maul, “I am even stronger than I was in our previous duels, for I now encompass the wisdom of my old master whom you struck down.” Maul sees this and attempts the same combo that he used to kill Qui-Gon which Obi-Wan counters with ease, cutting Maul’s saber in half. Those 3 minutes between those two is the best storytelling of the entire show(even if it piggybacks off the rest of the storytelling between the two in Phantom and TCW).
But because of clickbait greedy youtubers who love to mindlessly stir up hate like this guy, so many people will pass this up and never get the nuances.
Most inquisitors were order 66 jedi survivors the rest were palpatines second choices if darth Vader was a fail, (I think this is true dont quote me tho)
14:02 "[Sabine] couldn't be more Mary Sue unless she was also force-sensitive" Sabine from the Ahsoka series: "Hello there." Though, to be fair to the Sabine from the Ahsoka series, they make her so fucking incompetent she stops feeling like a Mary Sue.
Oh, god I hate it when ezra's talks during this scene. Ahsoka and anakin had so much emotional impact, because of their background, then this fucking kid is just like hey, fuck you.
Fun Fact: The original concept for the Twin Suns episode was just gonna have Maul and Obi Wan, Maul was gonna have visions of his past including stuff Satine and Savage Opress, but it was turned down because he didn’t want people who haven’t watched Clone Wars to be confused.
@@arnoldgreen4278 Dave is an idiot. He wasted a great Maul centric episode just to make Erza more important than he actually is. We wasted most of the episode watching that annoying brat walk around the dessert, when we could have gotten a great Maul centre episode about him trying to find Kenobi. What A waste
@@zemox2534 I wouldn’t put it all on Dave. It’s quite clear from the Bad Batch that he still knows what he’s doing. Maybe something happened behind the scenes and it wasn’t his fault.
About Obi Wan's pose in the Maul fight, I'm pretty sure his changed pose isn't supposed to mimick Sir Alec Guiness' pose, but rather bait Maul into an agressive start because Qui Gon started his fight against Maul that way. So Maul tried the very trick he killed Qui Gon with on Obi Wan, but of course Obi Wan was prepared. This makes it even better IMO
Nothing can make this crap better in any way. Darth Maul, one of the greatest villains of star wars and one of the most dangerous men in the galaxy, gets his ass whopped in one second by a man he knew and hated for his entire life. Watch TCW, Maul and Kenobi are equally capable, and suddenly Obi wins the fight with no effort for absolutely no reason and with no explanation. Is terrible. Maul was just wasted in one random episode of a dumb kiddo show without even having a proper end fight.
I dunno, you'd think it'd be a fairly obvious trap to Maul. The fact that he was not only caught off-guard by it, but killed instantly, was super weak.
Garrett Seaton rebels is absolute ass and the 2 episodes he directed of the mandolorian were the easily the worst ones Dave’s talented but he is on an awful streak right now
I think Disney held this show back a lot. Those few scenes that are actually good were the creators actually trying. The rest was that kid bullshit because of Disney.
Just depends on the medium. This show is aimed for kids, so you can only take is so far. But then you also have the final season of Clone Wars and The Mandalorian that also has Disney's hand in it. It's not disney, just the producers of the show.

I enjoy only episodes I and III. I do not like II if I’m being honest. Do I enjoy them more over the originals? I don’t. I enjoy the original movies a lot more. Maybe I might like episode III more than A New Hope. Who cares though? Also when have I never accepted I was wrong? I don’t see how you think you know a lot about me. You’re just stereotyping people for no reason. That is the problem with a lot of toxic people these days.
The show would have scored major points if they all died in the same explosion that Kanan did. I would watch that scene over and over again with some much glee.
I agree, I would love the show if Darth Vader and Maul massacred their ravaged corpses for wasting my time- I could not put the story down because I expected some redemption toward the end of the story; but they were all very disappointing. Them all dying at the hand of awesome Vader would be very convenient for the Empire, coming to power lore.
The reason I love The Clone Wars is that it was a show that could present different genres of fiction within it. One episode it could be a political thriller, then a neo noir, then an action adventure! I loved how diverse the show was with its writing. I also loved the performances from the voice actors, the writing and the constant never ending expansion of the Star Wars universe.
I think what they could’ve done to IMPROVE the Grand Inquisitor would be to have the Grand Inquisitor defeat Ezra and Kanan in every encounter, with each following encounter slowly going more in the Jedis’ favour due to them learning, but everytime before the Grand Inquisitor can actually finish them off, he’d get attacked by a Rebel squadron and be forced to retreat It would’ve been a better way to explain two unskilled Jedi constantly escaping the second deadliest mf in the Empire’s ranks time and again
Yeah, they even brought it back in the Disney+ season when Dauth Maul tears off a peice of a Star ship's interior, uses it to block a bunch of lasers and FUCKING THROWS IT AT A FEW STORM TROOPERS TO CUT THEIR HEAD'S OFF! Not even with his lightsabre! Its gruesome, and threatening like it's supposed to be!
@@joalitionstatus8368 You say that but why is it that nearly every piece of Star Was media uses the thicker lightsabers over the thinner design? Heck didn’t they even edit the thin designs in the OG?
He also uses Qui-Gon's pose which makes Maul try to do the whole hitting his head with the hilt then stabbing him move he did that killed Qui-Gon, which I think was Obi Wan's intent so he could easily counter it.
@Sarcasm Patrol wdym what you said was said since it came out it was purposely like that that's like me saying han solo dies from being stabbed and you saying stole my comment but OK
I completely agree with you on the first two season. As the last two came, I did come to appreciate it. I did like how Ezra struggled and finally made his decision to choose light in the last season. Kanan and his death was big hit and was a real sacrifice. He showed what a true Jedi would be in those times. Most of the crew I could do without and be happy if they weren’t there but then grew to care for them. Mauls death was so beautiful as he came to peace with his fate. I care that Ezra is lost and we still don’t know what happened to him as well as Thrawn. I really hope they don’t mess up Ezra character in Ashoka.
@@paulrietveld9837 dude I’m self aware of that 😂😂 that’s the literal point I’m making… If he sees Ahsoka now and realizes that what he said about her becoming a Jedi came to fruition he would just be like “see I told you so” 😂
@@Braig-si5zp He is so annoying. He always succeeds at everything easily and is good at everything. He never struggled with anything. I find his voice irritating. It got to the point with him that when he finds out that his parents were dead I just didn't care. Ezra is basically that person who is like, "I learned some bad news now feel bad for me." I am only in the middle of season 3 but I really hope that there is a scene where he gets viciously murdered.
I've said it from the beginning: This show should have been about Kanan immediately following order 66 and his time in exile or just in general about him. His two comic graphic novels are better than this entire series.
I sortive understand why Kanan got over his pre-conceptions of the clones a little quicker than expected. The problem is that he's mentoring Ezra. But, he's actually not teaching him just how to be a Jedi... also how to be a just man. Ezra was being mentored as a teenager. He can't possibly learn the ways of the Jedi the same way Kanan did since Ezra has already developed emotions and easily develops connections with others. If Kanan keeps his negative emotions on the clones, its possible that Ezra can also learn to hate. Kanan needed to overcome this in order to be a positive example to Ezra.
See this actually does make sense I just owe he they would show stuff like this that actually has to do with why the characters make decisions. Otherwise it just feels random and out of place
Big difference. Aladdin is not an annoying brat. He is funny and truly heroic. Erza is an obnoxious little prick who gets what he wants because he is the lead character.

Did anyone who was a main character actually die from Order 66 tho? I mean sure, some of them later became main characters in the Clone Wars, but when George decided to kill them in Ep III, they were just a couple of folks just chillin in the backgroud and asking about droid attacks on the wookies
there's literally no main characters in the movies, you'd think anakin is the main character, but no. its not him, its truly nobody. everyone serves a purpose so the victims of order 66 were not the main characters. this is just my opinion, if you have a different one, feel free to reply.
“They got that Disney money, baby.” Actually they didn’t. This show pretty much had a shoestring budget. That’s why the animation looks so strange. It’s partly stylistic but partly because they didn’t have Clone Wars level money simply because it wasn’t allocated to them.
@@uncletheoneshotkid3001 I do admit that it was cringe and could have been improved upon way more and had many problems, but I still enjoyed it because of Kanan and Thrawn.
What? Are you sure? Don't you think that it would be the exact opposite? It would be cheaper and easier to create clone wars style carton given that they had all the assets and software ready to execute. I'm pretty sure with rebels they intentionally wanted to chase a different art style to somehow appeal to toddlers and differentiate from clone wars

To be fair though, cool as she is Hera is WAAAY below Thrawns level, Star Wars and Timothy Zauhn wrote a character who's smarter than their capability to write, so they have to bring him to Rebels level, which for the threat he could be us a complete waste of Thrawn. @@devildelirious8662 we’re only 3 episodes in, mind, but it’s barely scratched the plot. I have a feeling it’s going to be like Obi-Wan where it probably would have made a better movie. The pacing is slow, we’ve barely scratched the surface of the plot, and the character motivations aren’t really there. Like, why does Ahsoka want to find/stop Thrawn? (Besides the obvious, he’s the big bad, but what’s her personal stake in this, why does this motivate her?) Why does Sabine want to be a Jedi? Is it to feel closer to Ezra? If so, they haven’t said that yet. It’s an odd show, and as Marcus correctly points out in his commentary, Sabine has enough going on in Rebels, she didn’t need to add Jedi Padawan to the list. (And that’s not even getting into what the show is implying about who can become a Jedi……)
"It's for kids is" is not a defence against criticism. Exhibit A: Avatar: The Last Airbender. Top 10 best TV show of all time. I could sing that shows praises for hours without using "it's for kids" to defend it.
Exactly! Some of my favorite shows/movies are technically made for kids. Wall-E is one of my favorite movies ever, it's made for kids but adults can also enjoy it.
There's an element of art through adversity there as well, due to increased pressure from censors. More mature elements that are often included to increase appeal for parents need to be kept subtle, which can do a lot for quality. Sadly, a fair amount of people seem to assume kids are stupid, and thus tend to get lazy, but when they actually try you can end up with some pretty fantastic stuff.
Ieuan Hunt he literally addresses that criticism, by saying it’s tonally uneven, and he also admired the last air bender, did you even watch the video?
The graphic novels books and micro series had interconnected plot lines, with far more depth and complexity and character development. TCW was comparatively shallow and relied far to heavily upon the rule of cool, rather than developing the characters and plot. There are some exceptions with the the Mortis trilogy coming to mind, but for the most part it's just a dumbed-down imitation of what came before.
@@beanbag_37it is obviously set up. Why would the writers show her trying all the time. In the last episode she will use the force to change the course of the battle or something.
I just wish they focused more on story arcs like TCW instead of one episode that feels rushed, and develop their villains more. I mean seriously, did the Inquisitors from Season 2 even have any kind of personality other than "Ooh, look how evil we are!"
WillFanofMany That's dumb. Several Inquisitors survived after the events of ROTJ in Legends, so why not do it in Canon? Just have their main purpose during the OT be about sabotaging major rebel cells and operations.
Yeah seriously. Something I liked about clone wars is that they would take time for adventures sometimes taking 3 or 4+ episodes to get through it. It wasn't rushed and they truly developed almost all characters, for example that adventure with those droids stealing some stuff from the separatist just to crash on some desert planet and meet that clone who forgot who he was. That ONE CLONE has almost more characterisation alone than all rebels characters combined.... ONE GODDAMN CLONE!
It’s because the rebels have a pathological need to “customize” the Stormtrooper armor, kinda hard to reuse the armor when they look like they’ve been through a 60’s hippie gathering.
I hate how utterly goofy the Empire and Darth Vader look, I can’t take anything seriously because of their design. How does a show based around the Clone Wars represent the Empire better than a show all about the Galactic Civil War?
Even more so , after seeing Vader in the final clone wars episode . They made him look legit , unlike rebels . His mean look persona is an awfully childish trope and is an insult to Vader and millions of dedicated fans .
Rebels design is based on original concept art by Ralf McQuarrie for the original trilogy. I think that's pretty cool. But how they massacred ma boi Hondo is unacceptable

The IG-100 kicks major ass. You can use it in space, on vertical surfaces. It's one of the most iconic Clone Wars vehicles, right next to the troop transports, the Star Destroyers and the AT-RT's.
The absolute best thing that came out of this show was the conclusion of Darth Mauls story. His last moments with Kenobi were everything this character deserved, and over all they did him justice in this show. His loneliness and emptiness and his constant desire for companionship were portrayed really well and I was really sattisfied with seeing how they handled his character, after watching clone wars as a kid and being a major Maul enjoyer.
Why don't they just have Starkiller instead of those dumb inquisitors, or better yet Vader should be the only one going around the galaxy killing jedi survivors.

another problem with the spinning lightsaber: they’re made from light. they can’t produce lift and push any air. i know it’s a stupid show in a the star wars universe but still
I actually enjoy a lot of what Rebels has to offer, but yeah the flying lightsabers were really stupid. That being said, they do say in one of the episodes that lightsaber blades actually have weight and mass to them, which could be part of the reason why the inquisitors can fly. Still pretty dumb, though.
@Angel Dust the blasters in star wars fire plasma bolts but are you sure about lightsabers? They don't have any fuel cell like blasters do. Do they just use the air to create the plasma? I'm not trying to say you're wrong I just got confused thinking about it.
Matt TheDestroyer 2 it’s not that they’re skinny it’s that they don’t have enough glow around them but I know what you mean that’s bothered me since episode 1

I feel like the first season of rebels should have only focused on Kanan Hera and maybe a third character and focus more about how he was the last surviving Jedi after Order 66 and now the Empire is after him as the show would progress it would slowly go to the more traditional Stormtroopers and the Imperial style that the original trilogy was known for then introduce characters from The Clone Wars characters like Obi-Wan and Ahsoka and the finale would create the entire Rebel Alliance and Canaan would probably die in an epic way

Queen of the Mandalorians...
Thats not how the Mandalorians work...
I wanted to burn the whole show after that part lol at least just call her Mandalore
Mimhere Yes but hey it's a Disney. Fuck us Mando fans.

Rewatching this in 2023 3 episodes into Ahsoka, and hearing “she couldn’t be more Mary Sue unless she was force sensitive” - WELP.
Jesus. Is ahsoka even any good?

I miss clone wars so much it was one of the best shows ever created they never even got to finish the storyline
lol clone wars was a rule of cool bastardization of the books, micro series and graphic novels.
Matt Sinz How so?
The graphic novels books and micro series had interconnected plot lines, with far more depth and complexity and character development. TCW was comparatively shallow and relied far to heavily upon the rule of cool, rather than developing the characters and plot. There are some exceptions with the the Mortis trilogy coming to mind, but for the most part it's just a dumbed-down imitation of what came before.
Matt Sinz I partially agree, but I think TCW was still very good.
Or classic to modern Star Trek, both are enjoyable just in a different way.

I just wish they focused more on story arcs like TCW instead of one episode that feels rushed, and develop their villains more. I mean seriously, did the Inquisitors from Season 2 even have any kind of personality other than "Ooh, look how evil we are!"
Logan Smith Team fucking Rocket are more enjoyable then they are, and that's literally what they're supposed to be.
His name was Gregor: Clone Commando... and when he returned in Rebels, they made him crazy...

My dad loved the clone wars when I showed him the show.......... he is 50 btw
It’s because the rebels have a pathological need to “customize” the Stormtrooper armor, kinda hard to reuse the armor when they look like they’ve been through a 60’s hippie gathering.
14:08 *Morgan Freeman voice*
She was, in fact, force sensitive
I thi k they used a lot of original concept art that didn't make the final cut... yeah, they took the shit that didn't work and made a show out of it... doesn't make any fuckin sense

ACtually Starwars the clone wars was not at the end at the best ...
THere was more action and bum bumm ...
Star wars the clone wars was at its best in the middle, when we saw our characters grow after knwoing them already, when it showed politics and at how the people suffer in the conflicted...
The hole mandalorine thing was ok to good, but got boring pretty fast ...
And the hole darth maul arc a little to much, should have endet with darth sidious killing him, if not before ...
When it showed new aspects of the world like the clone academy and the outposts of the republic...
By the way am the only one that wished for a ashoka tano - Anakin lovestory ... Padma and Anakin just doesnt work for me ...
THe problem of Rebels for me is just that is boring and the animation looks kind of sterile...
Also why watch something you dont like, because it says Star wars on ? Bah ...
And i agree the characters have no character ...
I must say that i like the idea of new more star wars the clone wars, but i must say that the series got also a little boring at the end.
THough i liked the 66 chip arc ... But the problem is we already know what will happen and the writers just didnt have anything new ...
MAybe after this long break they have a fresh breath air, since it is annouced to start again this year or next ...
One problem i noticed is that some characters shouldnt reapper or just die since they are not giving anything new ...
I had enought General grivous gets captured or cornered but escapes ...

If it’s too long, either you were very, very thorough (ala YMS debunking the Kimba controversy), or maybe you’re rambling and not very organized.
I personally love any kind of content, as long as it’s well made and isn’t full of fluff.
It’s weird to me that people complain about videos being too long when we live in an era where people binge watch entire TV/film series. You can stop and start whenever you want. Also streams tend to be hours upon hours long. It’s up to you to decide whether or not you want to watch all of it or just the highlights.

Y'know, I agree: This show would be better if Kanan and Hera were the main characters. The story does feel more grounded and the stakes feel more real when it's just the two of them, because they both behave like competent adults.
But also its still kinda a learning thing for them and everyone still there not always competent and wise and know everything thing
Agree with this
I feel like the first season of rebels should have only focused on Kanan Hera and maybe a third character and focus more about how he was the last surviving Jedi after Order 66 and now the Empire is after him as the show would progress it would slowly go to the more traditional Stormtroopers and the Imperial style that the original trilogy was known for then introduce characters from The Clone Wars characters like Obi-Wan and Ahsoka and the finale would create the entire Rebel Alliance and Canaan would probably die in an epic way
If they were to focus on a third character I think it should've been the Grand inquisitor. I'd love for them to go more into detail with his backstory, plus it would be interesting to see things from the Empire's point of view in a show
