I watched this video a couple of years ago. Please update this video with a recipe!!! I wish you would have responded years ago ! It looks so yummy! Please do another video!
I can’t seem to find the yeast cakes in the stores, can I substitute that with the dry active dry packets of yeast? If so how many packets would I use that would equal one cake of yeast? Is there any way you can post the exact measurements for this recipe, when did you put the eggs in, was the butter melted or soft ? That’s a very expensive dessert and I don’t want to mess it up by missing a step so if you could print the recipe that would help us all. Thank you.
I use my great grandmother's recipe, too. They were from Czechoslovakia, too. I make it for all the major holidays. Some family like rasins so I add that. I haven't made the poppyseed filling yet, but no one is asking for it. lol My recipe is somewhat different. I simmer the nuts until right before bubble stage. My filling is 1 lb ground walnuts, 1 1/2 c sugar, 1 cup milk, an egg white. I let that cool in fridge before rolling up. I've never used sour cream for my dough, but I'm willing to try it out! Thanks for the video. I love to watch these old traditions. Do you make the Christmas Eve soup?
You don't have to use the grinder, you can use a miniature food processor...sooooo much easier. Try it ! My grandmother came from Croatia, and she make povitica all the time, but food processor is easiest.
when did she put the eggs in ??? was the margarine soft or melted when did that go in think it might of been a good recipe---but she was rattled with all the people in her kitchen !!!
Would like a more organized new presentation of this recipe. Missed specific measurements of ingredients, eggs ???? . Were the rolls allowed to rise before baking ? Presentation too fragmented !
