    Stu is one of the true uke masters. The only reason he does not have 5 times the subscribers is because he was in such demand and traveling all over the world. With everything going on in the world we all could use some UKULELE ZEN! Glad to be a subscriber to your Patreon. Very fair and worth every penny. I'll admit I need to smile more and I need to change my mindset to be more relaxed and not let people upset me about things. @@UkuleleZen thank you Stu but instead of teaching in a studio I teach private lessons at my students home or at a local park. One thing I learned a while back about teaching and that is that teaching is an extension of learning and you learn as you teach. I always consider myself a student first and a teacher second. I open my eyes and mind as a humble student. You would be awesome at teaching separately some meditation type classes. My guess is that you are also into healthy eating, holistic medicine and therapies, natural healing, etc. If you ever heard about Chinese Dit Da Jow, I make my own formulas. Thanks for all your fantastic videos. I'm Guro Rick, nice to be part of Ukulele Zen.

    Thanks Stu! I love your lessons. Do you have any rec's on how to hold the ukulele for this fast lick diddy? I"m not sure where to put the weight of the uke so that it doesn't slip out of my hands when I'm plucking the string down...

    • @UkuleleZen
      @UkuleleZen  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Lucy! I think holding it against your body but not too tightly is the way to go… If you can have your instrument attached to the strap that makes it really easy… Unless you have a soprano in which case the strap can be a little bulky. Let the weight of your arm do the pushing… It's more relaxed than a squeeze but a little bit of squeeze. I feel thing that's a little hard to put into words but I hope you get what I'm saying....please subscribe to keep in the loop of more videos from my channel 🎶🤙😊

    Why is the last note on the run down, just before the A chord, not an A on the low G string?

    • @UkuleleZen
      @UkuleleZen  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many possibilities...for this lick, I'm choosing to resolve to a C# (1st fret of 3rd string). This note is the 3rd of the chord which has a different color than resolving to the root note of A. The note we end any melodic passage on carries more "harmonic weight" because it's the last note heard. Many ways to play & resolve the lick of course...I recommend comparing ending on C# to ending on A. In the end, it's all a matter of what YOU like best.

      Honestly, I think it’s one of the best carbon fiber instruments I’ve ever played. These new models have a thinner lightweight top that allows for more resonance . Of course it’s nothing like a tone wood… But as far as carbon fiber goes it’s heads and tails above the rest! There’s a link in the description if you want to check it out (being nearly indestructible is also a cool feature!)
