It can be a good idea to moderate the amount of flux used when soldering off/on a microswitch and cleaning/prepping its pads, at least until you've gained some experience working with that particular microswitch / that type of membrane and casing design. Flux can easily seep _into_ many types of microswitch casings, and make the button sticky and mushy.
I've actually seen that car manufacturers tend to stick within the same 6 or so models of switches. I'm amazed that the swich melted by your customer was still working.
What kind of flux do you use? Low quality and old flux is harder to clean. I thought I heard a youtuber say to store flux in the refrigerator to keep it fresh. Also, you have to use 99% alcohol. Not sure if the ultrasonic cleaner will clean inside the switch. Acetone will probably dissolve the switch instead of the flux... lol.
Can you please do a video showing how to use the microscope?? I got it but there are some things I don’t know how to do, like how you press a button that gets rid of the glare and stuff, any help would be appreciated man, thanks!! 😄
Just wondering....(not a critique or anything) those solder pads were so small wouldn't it be prudent to put some silastic around the buttons (if there was room)? Great work as always :)
Hi can i ask you something pro i have a board and i change my aio and out of suddenly from there onwards the board reading is memory 00 is there any way to help?
Always better than factory 😎😎👌👌👌👌
Waiting for the "Better than factory" t-shirt

Meat and drink for the Northridge fix! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
Love from Maldives 🇲🇻
ive found getting flux in them buttons ruins then, the stickyness of the flux makes the spring cap inside stick
👍 They are super finicky micro switches even if no flux inside. Having some extra stocked up is a good idea.

to get rid of glare just use additional light source from different angle and not just ring light.
@@gorky_vk oh thanks, I’ll try that tomorrow then 😄
