    We appologise for the audio quality. We only realized the afterward the microphone I had on was not working. We didn't want to reshoot. So we had to use the sound from the camera that was filming. Thank you for watching :)

    I thought the audio quality was plenty good enough to convey the knowledge I came here for. Thank you!

    Definetly one of the better instructions out there. Can you do a video on how to properly do a waterchange with remineralization? I think that would help beginners greatly.

    Thank you for the information. If I ever have the space/time/resources to get back into the hobby, a Neocaridina tank will probably be where I start. (I miss my ghost shrimp.) You laid all the details out in an easy-to-digest manner. Can't wait to see your upcoming shrimp videos!

    & the most comprehensive online tutorial that I have seen , and I am sure super excited to have a tank setup and I will be doing it exactly as you explained. I know I will be returning to this video since I have never had the opportunity....that will not be the case in 1 months time. Red or Blue ? I think it is deserving to have both , so I will say Thank You for sharing your thoughts and I am going to buy a new aquarium so I can get Blue and Red !!! Fish and Shrimp are awesome and I am going to start both of them with 15 and then I will sit down and watch them with my binoculars for the first couple of weeks and that is my approach without having to approach ☯️ +🦐

    Very professional! Really well done. I know good sound is important but content overall is most important. My videos are very informal and I will also improve my videos soon. But good content is what people come for ultimately. Fantastic video.

    Im beginning with my own shrimp breeding tank. Got two 11 liter tanks with sponge filters. First tank is intended for Red Sakura shrimps and the second one - for Crystals. I'm not sure if my tap water is best suited for them (GH7, KH3, Ph 7). So i'm undecided yet if i'm going to try keeping Crystals there (i bought special shrimp active substrate lowering pH). Maybe i will change my mind and choose Yellow Neos instead. What do you recommend? I just watched your video and i have mixed thoughts now. Some ppl said that Crystals can be breed in tap water with such parameters. But i'm not expert and i rather belive you here.

    I use the soil for neos cus i heard they like plants. And the soil is better then inert sand for plants. The healthier your plants, the happier your shrimp. I am doing heavy planted tank with neo shrimps

    I really like shrimp & such but it seems very expensive to get an RO system, I want to do the best care but I can’t afford to be buying minerals every time I do a water change..

    Great video Jacques. What about rain water? Collected from roof but filtered and uv sterilised. What would need to be added if anything?

    • @McMerwe
      @McMerwe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, usually half a dose of shrimp salt. But measure the GH, KH and pH of rainwater. Try to match the GH as close as possible. Shrimp salts usually bring the GH to around 6. Hope that helps.

      Thanks 👍 so can rainwater be made suitable for neos, caridinas and sulawesi?

    Ask a friend to wash their filter in tank water add that to the new tank and thats a better and faster method than buying this bacteria in bottles, its called seeding incase you didn't know and strangely no one here will tell you about seeding they only ever tell you to buy bacteria.

    If you're going to use a heater, for gods sake use a controller. Heaters are by far that crappiest build component in an aquarium and on a long enough timeline WILL nuke a tank.

    Too bad you use aquel. My aquel heaters won't raise even the smallest tanks above 23°C (73°F) even tho they are supposed to.

    Summary of this infomercial: " These shrimp are difficult to keep, but if you buy all of these expensive products from my links, so I can get paid, your shrimp might survive. " Personally, I don't think it makes sense to spend hundreds of dollars trying to keep something alive that costs you $2. each. There are plenty of videos which show how easy they are with a few basic things you need to know. Provide the right environment for them, don't make sudden changes, keep them away from anything that will eat them, and they will thrive and you don't need a lot of expensive equipment and products to do it.
