  • Jamie Hughes reveals the secret hookbait that not only won him £60,000 back in 2019, but continues to be his standout hookbait of choice when fishing bomb and pellet tactics for carp on commercial venues.
    It is no secret the effectiveness of Sonubaits Pro Expander pellets, but our new signing Jamie Hughes has kept his use of them up his sleeve until this point, revealing how to prepare, present and fish with this great bait.

I’m a true lover of using these pellets and in fact all the Sonubaits pellets/baits when fisheries allow them. They are pure quality. So looking forward to more of your team up videos. Des (and Joe etc) always tell us we MUST keep these pellets in water on the side tray as they breakdown if not. Notice Jamie seems not to keep them in water on his side tray. Is this correct and is it the glycerine that allows this? Many thanks T

    Adding glycerin to the water might just be the answer. I have never soaked them overnight in water alone, preferring to soak the 8mms for 45mins and then pouring away the remaining water and adding a little flavour/colour liquid. In the morning they're right, even the centres. I shall try the glycerin next time!

Jamie is not as experienced on the more natural venues used for international competitions. Jamie is without doubt a forward thinking fishing machine but I'd say Des is a more complete angler. • @swwren
      @swwren 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I try an air tight bag and freeze them, seem to last ok. Might need a sprinkle or fine spray during the day you use them.

    • @robertwren8878
      @robertwren8878 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another way is to put them in the pellet pump ( no water) and extrude the air or you can now buy food containers that extrude the air and will stay fresh indefinately,another is the small machine that caterers use which extrude the air and seal the bag which keeps it fresh and doesnt affect the structure unlike freezing.

  • @robertwren8878
    @robertwren8878 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I understand that this video shows what Jamie does with the expander for bookmark and hair rigging. Now I can tell you depending on the weather match anglers like to pump fresh halfway through a match but overnight is out of the question and so is waiting an hour or two so in effect this video is incomplete and should be re done to tackle this issue should you want to feed these and keep as hookers or hair rigging. You can see by the comments that there is confusion and can you please slow down Jamie's explanations to Andy findlays way of instruction it's just too fast. My question is for speed can we pump them and still retain that structure even if we add glycerin or not.? Robert.
