great video Des and the team its another little edge from the great man .Tight lines in 2023.Merry fishmas and a Happy New year to you and your family and everyone at Sonubaits.🎣🎄🏆
Hello, first of all thank you for the very instructive advice you provide. I wanted to ask you a question. Should the expanders that you have put in with water and flavor be left for 3 weeks to be ready? Or would it be enough to prepare them the night before fishing. Thank you very much and a cordial greeting from Spain.
Would you recommend 2mm pro expanders for F1’s and carp once lakes thaw out, fished over 1mm feed pellets. Also best size hook for 2mms. How many on hook. Thanks.
Great tip Des and Sonu, I like how you think of these ideas. Des do you ever feed expanders in place of hard pellets and does that give you an edge in certain scenarios 👍
I have also tried it and after two months the pro expander pellets are still hard but the color (washed out) has disappeared and there is only a transparent liquid (similar to water) filled to the top of the pot? What's going wrong here?
Does it have to be a full bag of expanders and full bottle of booster. Made a 4oz pot filled to top with expanders covered in booster and left for 4 weeks! And after 4 weeks still as hard as when I started the process. What am I doing wrong? 🎣🎣😁
Remove the amount you need for the day and put in a different pot and cover with cold water the morning before you leave , they will be ready when your ready to start fishing.
I have 4 m 6m on the go exactly how Des has shown 3 weeks later they are still rock hard Tried the same with 8mm been in the bottle for one week starting to go soft Question I need answering is do they go soft to put straight on the hook or do they still need soaking in water Thanks
I don't get it as to why you would want to take away the attractant of fishmeal and if that was your choice why not in the water to soak them? What is the advantage? For me it's leading us to believe that expanders are for just the hook but there not and great to feed by pult or in groundbait for carp and Bream shallow! You've certainly still got to put them in water still afterwards so seems an expensive packet of expanders to me that's a fact for a product that's already tried and trusted for maximum taste and attraction isn't it?
true but its all about giving yourself the extra little trick up your sleeve when Tom Dick and Harry on the pegs next you are using the same bait, Ive done this before and it works I won a match with 298lb 10oz and the person in second place weighed in 205lb 7oz using standard pro expander. Give a try you'll be amazed at the results 🏆🎣🎣
Des still has some of the original batch he did that we asked him to keep hold of to see what they kept like before revealing now. They're as good as new. 👌🏽
They still need to be prepared in water. They do go soft after a while of being in the Bait Booster but still too firm to hook direct and strike through. Although you'd probably get away with hair rigging them in larger sizes when looking for an extra durable hookbait.
Another very good instruction video, clear and concise in Andy’s usual manner. All good advice and no bullxxxt. Thanks Andy
Need a few bags of expanders and bottles of baitbooster to be burgled, go for it Des. 😂😂😂
Lovely stuff Des. I add water in at the time of bait booster and freeze them over night, soaks in much quicker.
Definitely be giving this method a go for next season brilliant tip👍👍👍
I love Des and his vids. Always very good.

Knew it, I’ve been doing small 4oz tubs with various flavours. Nice one Des 🎣🎣🙌🏼🙌🏼
Now we need Andy Finlay to corroborate this tip😉
good job there Dess, Thank you 👍👍

Size 18 for 2mm expanders mate, if you’re struggling size 20 and and definitely awesome fished over 1mm pellets
2mm and 4mm's are ideal. 4mm's if it's really good. 2mm if the fish are really shy. A size 18 hook is ideal. 👌🏽
Thanks Des for the Great Tip.
Done this December 1but still got wet booster in how long before it all soakes in do I need to let air in any advice welcome cheers
Can you do method feeding on these. I soaked these 2mm could not get them to hold in mold.

Feeding expanders can be a brilliant trick. Especially feeding 2mm Expanders, occasionally 4mms when targeting skimmers, bream & F1's.
I just add a bit of bait booster to the water ..
Good shake ...
Fridge over night .. perfect
I'd love to use this bait booster, but it's nowhere for sale in the EU. Why is that?
Definitely give this a try.

Same as iv had same thing hard as he'll not taken any liquid in... des ship why this
Still need to be soaked in water . I find it best to put bait boost with water when I soak them overnight.
Remove the amount you need for the day and put in a different pot and cover with cold water the morning before you leave , they will be ready when your ready to start fishing.
Would you use these for lose feeding
Are the expanders soft enough to hook after just being soaked in the booster?
Not quite, over a very long time they will soften through but are still quite dense without the usual soaking process prior to your session.
I have 4 m 6m on the go exactly how Des has shown
3 weeks later they are still rock hard
Tried the same with 8mm been in the bottle for one week starting to go soft

Couldn't you use and pellet pump to speed up the process or is it to thick to be drawn in by a vacuum

Mikster
If you read my question it still hasn't been explained as to dessies process as it makes no sense!
Making some up now 👍🏻👍🏻
Had my first ever win on these bad boys.
Great stuff
Nice info dess
Are expanders meant to be used as hookbaits only or can they be used as loose feed?
Yes they can but they will still need to be soaked or they will float.
How long do they last for once soaked with bait booster.
Des still has some of the original batch he did that we asked him to keep hold of to see what they kept like before revealing now. They're as good as new. 👌🏽
Thanks Des something I will try these expanders are the best makes my fishing so easy @sonubaits👍🏻🎣🎣
Can we ask Desmond if hes ever doubled up and repeated the process once the first lot of bait booster has penetrated thr pellets.
Des, after the pellets have been in the bait booster for a few weeks do they need to be put in water or can they go straight on the hook
They still need to be prepared in water. They do go soft after a while of being in the Bait Booster but still too firm to hook direct and strike through. Although you'd probably get away with hair rigging them in larger sizes when looking for an extra durable hookbait.
So many different ways and views on which is best and which causes pellets to split 😢
🔥🔥
Des ship the screaming skull what happened to u 😂
Mr basically 😆
