  • HOW TO ANSWER - WHAT ARE YOUR WEAKNESSES - FOR DATA ANALYSTS // Going into a job interview, you’re hopefully prepped to really sell your skills. You know how you could help the company and why you could be a really great fit.
What about those pesky questions that are specifically about where you fail though?
Today we’re looking at how to answer what are your weaknesses for data analysts.
At some point in any job interview, you’re probably expecting to be asked “What is your greatest weakness?” or some variation like “If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?” or “What would your previous manager say you struggled with?”
You might have even heard that you should avoid this question by responding with something that is usually perceived as a positive. Maybe this worked in the past. It doesn’t work now.
We’ll look at why this is a terrible way to answer and how you can identify an actual weakness to talk about that doesn’t hurt your chances of getting the job.
I’ll even give you some examples so you can identify your own weakness to talk about if you’re asked during a data analyst interview.

Hey ,I feel $29 is kind of higher priced for an e-book. It translates to ₹2100+ in India which is kind of pricey.
Can you bring the prices of e books down to $10 around .
Just a recommendation ,it's obviously your choice

Hi Jen, gotta say your videos give very good insight into the industry, I stumbled upon your videos and cannot stop watching them. Got a question to ask. I am a CPA financial analyst and I use mostly excel. Over here in Australia, the strange thing is data analyst seem to out pace me in salary with little colleague education and industry qualifications, I am willing to learn SQL, SAS Bi-report Tableu and even Python, as I think they are great tools. How can I leverage my CPA in data analytics to make the most of what I have. Data analyst seem to have a much better work life balance and better pay, so unfair that's why I am planning to do it. Thanks

Once you build the skills, look for roles that have some sort of financial aspect to do them. Being a CPA will help you stand out. And even if you land in rolls that don't have any financial aspect to them, that education and certification as a CPA will stand out as someone who is skilled with numbers and business.

@@TheCareerForce Thanks Jen, hopefully hiring manager over here won't think I am over qualified, since most candidates here don't even have a relevant degree or a degree. If I learn enough SQL, Tableau skills, and some Python on my own, would I still need to start from bottom of 70 k a year?

If you find roles where your existing experience directly connects, you should be able to start above entry level.

But... What if I do not have any weaknesses, and I am all-around superawesomely-superawesome?! Then what should I do? How do I answer the question in that case?!
