- HOW TO ANSWER - TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF - FOR DATA ANALYSTS // Learn how to answer “tell me about yourself” so you can stand out in your next job interview.
Nearly every interview starts out with the question “Tell me about yourself” and you’re expected to have a good response. The answer to this question sets the tone for the rest of your job interview.
I’ll go through the best things to do and not to for this interview question.
Then, we’ll look at why hiring managers ask so often “tell me about yourself.”
Then I’ll go through a 3 step formula to create the best answer to tell me about yourself. This includes examples for people with previous data analyst experience as well as though who are transitioning careers.
While the focus of this video is on data analysts, anyone can use this technique to stand out in their next job interview.

Hello Jen! this was super helpful, but I have no previous experience I am a fresher then what is good to say?
Talk about what you've studied. Talk about your interest in analytics (especially if it's practical). Talk about what you've done with analytics even if it hasn't been in a job setting.
Hey... If I am a student what could I talk about in hook?
I believe you can say your internship experiences or team project, TA, club activity or volunteer services.
Internships and projects are good. You can also reference what you're in school for or that you're about to graduate / just graduated.
