      After I came to Christ I realized that it's only by God's grace we can be at this point because all the stuff I know now still probably wouldn't have changed me into a Christian. It was purely the mercy and grace of God that brought me to him.

    Anytime a person says "I don't care about God" or "I don't want eternal life" if you, too, feel extremely sad for that person and yet motivated to show them the love of Christ, that must be God's Spirit within.
    I can remember back to a time where I also didn't care. Thank God for His mercy and grace!

    Sadly, this generation increasingly thinks that disagreement is hate. So, they cannot be friends with their ideological opponents - in fact, too often they hate them.
    This is because people don't think the truth is outside of ourselves, to be freely dialogued over. They think it lives within their identity, so to contradict them is deeply, personally offensive.
    This is the greater problem. We are getting close to a situation where controlling debate and disagreement is seen as an act of compassion and virtue. In reality, it'll destroy more than it saves.
    As a footnote, another answer lies in the Cliffes and Stuarts of this world. They are an example to all in the way to conduct oneself.

      I think it's more based on the justifications for bad behavior that religious people used and defend by pointing to their god.
      "I didn't decide that God did, and he's perfect."
      The common rejection of science is another factor, often picking and choosing which science is real to them, and denying the rest.

    • @itissayu
      @itissayu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Paul Moody yes I’m sure she is love by her friends and family. Well God created us, so He literally offered everything. But He also offered to take our punishment. The wages of sin is death. We have All done something against God. Back before Jesus died, to be forgiven, you had to give sacrifices like sheep, to God, over and over again. But Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice. So all we need to do is ask and receive forgiveness. Again it’s up to you to accept that forgiveness. IF God was real (I’m saying if because you don’t believe in God so I want to speak in your perspective) IF God isn’t real, than love is just science. So our family friends, their love would just be a chemical reaction. But ofc Im sure you love your family and friends, and that it’s genuine. But it can’t be made by science. There has to be a creator. Many atheists believe in the things that make sense and can be proven, like science and things you can see physically. But love is not physical, it’s not science, so what is it? I didn’t want to try questioning your belief, but because you questioned mine I believe I can also question yours. Just the way I can’t give you science facts to prove God’s existence 100%, you can prove to me 100% God isn’t real, because I have had my personal experiences with God, and no matter what anyone tells me, my mind won’t be changed, I’m guessing the same as your mind won’t change about God not being real. I respect you. And I really wish the best for you. All I can say is, my life is better because of God, and His love for me and for YOU is real, even when the world hates Him, He will continue to love. God bless you.

      @@paulhadlington8179 witchcrafts real. I was an atheist and then got into witchcraft. I remember during this time I was suicidal, obsessive, depressed and anxious all the time. I saw demons and felt their presence. You might think I’m crazy but there is something more after death. I know this for sure. I called out to God if there even was one and asked Him for a sign. I begged and asked Him for just one sign. That’s all I wanted. The next day I had forgotten what I even asked for the day before. I walked to school, open the doors of the building, and walked in. I was early to class so I decided to take a detour and walk around just to kill time. I walked into an art exhibit at the school, I saw a sculpture of a man and written under it were the words “Jesus will be here soon”. This is when I knew it wasn’t just a coincidence. It was the sign I asked for. From that day on, I researched more about it. I don’t like to be called a Christian, rather I am a follower of Christ. It’s not a religion, it’s a relationship with Him. I have never felt more satisfied, content and reassured in my life before ever since I put my faith in Him. Once you put your faith in Him, you will be reborn with a new heart. That doesn’t mean I am perfect, we will never be perfect. Only God is. I don’t worship Christ because I don’t want to go to hell, it’s because I love Him and He loves me unconditionally. We can talk more if you’d like, I’d love to answer any questions you have. I’m not here to convert you or force you. Besides God doesn’t want us to be forced into loving Him. He gave us free will for that reason lol. Anyways sorry I rambled a bit too much, good day to you.

      @Paul Moody it appears sir that your questioning mind has been callused into a certain belief that God is not a good God. Whatever you’ve been through that has caused you pain, God knows about it, and wants to remove it. Putting a wall between you and God isn’t profitable nor is it going to help you, so you can either continue to endure what you are describing, or you can surrender to the One who created us and let him fill you with joy, peace and love and happiness and maybe one day you can be on the other side of a comment such as yours urging that person to rethink what they believe. A holy life isn’t necessarily easy but it is certainly rewarding. If you want to receive the promises of God from the Bible then the sinful life must go. Hence why it is called the sacrifice of righteousness (Psalm 4:5).

    Self-sacrifice works on your depression your self-esteem yourself worth etc. When you help somebody else expecting nothing in return depression diminishes self-esteem and self worth increase. I was horribly abused from age four until my mother passed away two years ago. The only thing that saved me was self-sacrifice. I went into the medical field and worked my heart out for others. I then went into social work due to disabilities and worked my heart out for others. I know that I have done what the Lord wants me to do I believe I was put here to care for others. As soon as I can get out of my house in a wheelchair next week I will be at a soup kitchen or volunteering through a church. I have made a mark on people's hearts and that is my greatest joy along with receiving the love of Jesus Christ!

    22:38 I have this memory, I must’ve been 3. Parents thought I was asleep. I was going to go in their room to sleep because I couldn’t on my own, but I heard yelling. It scared me. I heard things I couldn’t understand and can’t remember, but I knew they were angry with each other. I sat in the hall, and this is my clear memory:
    Why do they keep yelling? I don’t get it. Just hug each other. Stop yelling.
    I have another memory. I got older, and I valued my intelligence. In fact, I valued intelligence above all personal attributes a person can have. I reflected on the earlier memory and thought:
    Huh. I was so sure I was right at that time, that they could just stop fighting and make up. But that’s not how it works; one of them has to win, then the fight can be over when one of them accepts they lost.
    So here I am now. I agree with three year old me. Maybe one of them is right and one is wrong, but it’s RIGHT to make peace, and WRONG to stoke strife. It doesn’t matter if one person is absolutely right and the other is absolutely wrong. They’re both in the wrong for turning a misunderstanding, or a disagreement, into a destructive battle.
    Man, I was a wise 3 year old!

    It’s sad. Jesus says “I love you” and people answer back with “love is just a chemical reaction” Jesus is simple and straightforward, but the world tries to complicate things. I hope people understand God loves, just because He loves us. Not because we deserve God’s love, but because His love is unconditional.

    • @itissayu
      @itissayu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Paul Moody and this is why, I know you aren’t fully educated on the Bible. There is both the Old Testament and the New Testament. When Jesus died, the old rules, were not longer something we followed. We don’t give living sacrifices anymore right? People can get divorced right? Forgiveness was given to us on the cross, and a lot of the Old Testament rules are no longer followed. The things you say about His love not being unconditional, is also not correct. If His live was conditional, we would not have freedom, or the first sin we committed, God would have sent us to hell already. I never understood why people think like this, God shows us, He loves us, people refuse to love Him, and you think God will allow you in heaven? His home? To someone who doesn’t love God? Hell WASNT made as a threat, Hell is a place that shows us, that apart from God, everything else is evil and dark. Satan was Lucifer once, an angel, but he wanted to be more, he wanted to be God, and God saw his evil heart and sent Him to hell. It isn’t a threat, it is the outcome of being apart from God. You can’t just say “I don’t love God” but expect eternal peace with Him in heaven?

      @Paul Moody slavery isn’t even promoted in the Bible, give me a verse to back it up please?

    • @itissayu
      @itissayu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Paul Moody at the end of the day, there is only to places, heaven and hell. God isn’t making it hard for anyone to believe? The Bible is there, it is up to you to have faith. Without faith you won’t believe, you’ll doubt. Believe me I felt and thought the same way as you. I wondered, so being a good person isn’t enough to go to heaven? Because I would meet really nice people who weren’t christians. But I learned, we are ALL sinners. We all deserve hell. People get offended when someone says “we all deserve hell” but we arent perfect, we arent saints, we have done something against God. So people wonder “why did God make us imperfect and to be able to sin? Wouldn’t he just have to make us perfect so no one goes to hell?” And this is where unconditional love comes from. If God made us these robot type humans who have no choice but to love him, that would be manipulation. Not love. But He gave you a free will. Freedom. So you don’t have to believe in God, it’s up to you. But you can except to go to heaven, or be happy after death if you didn’t wanna follow the creator of everything?

    • @itissayu
      @itissayu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Paul Moody it is your decision. I respect anyone who chooses (remember you have the freedom to choose which God gave you) to believe or not believe. You wouldn’t alllow a stranger into your home right? If they say “oh I’m a good person let me in” you will still not let them in. God gives us a chance on earth, if we don’t take it when we face Him, He tells us “depart from me I never knew you” the Bible says that. God won’t allow someone who hates or doesn’t believe in Him to His kingdom. And the same with you, you don’t want to believe in God so you don’t want anything that involves God, so hell is a place that God’s presence is not present. But Jesus died for you. He took your sins. The wages of sin is death, and Jesus took that punishment of death (death and also the wrath of God, which Jesus experienced God’s full wrath, since Jesus carried every Human’s sin, He at the moment was not holy), so you wouldn’t. experience the punishment you deserve, that I deserve. People try to find all reasons to not believe in God, but God will always love you. But love does not equal justification. We sin, SOMEONE had to take the punishment. Jesus did. But it doesn’t mean we automatically get forgiven at birth, we have to live for God, which is such a beautiful thing. To know you were never alone, that every day when you wake up, it was God who woke you up, that your breakfast, your education, your family, your health, your room, it’s all blessings. When you realize that blessings are every where, a new way of living will open for you

    • @itissayu
      @itissayu 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Paul Moody it’s your decision to not believe in God. Also you do realize we are all not “good” we have all done something wrong. So we all deserve this eternal agony. But Jesus is offering to give u a better place to be because being non existent is not an option. But AGAIN, your life, your decision. In my eyes yes, other religions are not true, the same way other religions don’t think Christianity is true. It is called respect. I respect you, I respect other religions, period. So if you do not want to believe in God or any god that is fine, but death is something no one can avoid, so I guess you have to find out what’s gonna happen after death. It is YOUR choice. No one is forcing you. I am only here to show you, and tell you that God loves you. You may not see or understand God, it still won’t change that he loves you 🤷🏻‍♀️😭 God bless

What sort of view or interpretation of God and eternal life does she have that would make her think she doesn’t want that and instead would want to just simply rot in the ground after 80 years on earth?

    The most important reason for God to give us free will, is for true love to exist. Robots don't love genuinely, they MUST produce actions that are programmed in them to look like love. The free choice is what makes it true love. You aren't forced to.
    God put limits on Adam and Eve, because a father who puts no limits on his children does not truly love them.
    The limit was for their good and holding to God's word was how Adam and Eve showed love to God. That was perfection.
    They were materially provided for and immaterially provided for.
    The free will to choose to disobey and not disobeying was what made the love between Adam and God perfectly true.
    Once he disobeyed, their relationship was no longer perfect and death entered the picture.
    Jesus was with the Father from the beginning. In perfect love through the Holy Spirit.
    He obeyed and did everything the Father says and does.
    Since before the creation and when he entered creation.
    Even after Jesus entered creation he obeyed the limits God put on him. Which was bodily limitation, to die before his natural death.
    His obedience even to death is what we understand as reconciliation with God the Father's perfect love.
    Through Christ, we are perfect in the Father again. Like Adam before he disobeyed.

    Could it be that God simply overrides our free will and chooses whom He will save and whom He won’t save?
    And that choice is based upon the sovereign choosing of God. He’s God. He can do what He likes. It’s not up to us to question Him.
    And could it be, that the real reason why He chooses one and not another, is because it’s just His prerogative.
    He can do whatever He likes and we don’t have to know why.
    And all this kind of makes sense, if you don’t think about it.
    But if we don’t factor into the predestination equation, God’s justice and mercy, then hey we aren’t really thinking with a full deck, are we?
    We know that God is just and merciful proved by the example of Jesus Christ dying on the cross for our sins.
    And because we know that God never changes, we also know that God didn’t abandon His justice and mercy when He put together the predestination deal.
    Okay so what’s the deal?
    Stay with me and let me throw this curve ball at you.
    Think about this.
    If you like the idea that you just somehow lucked in because for whatever reason God somehow picked you, like a name out of a hat, then you’re going to be feeling pretty good about that.
    It’s like being born into a super rich family. You’d be feeling pretty lucky that you’re not born poor. That’s just how it is.
    Same deal with being predestined by God if you just got lucky.
    If it’s true that you can say you were a lucky one, if you were born richly predestined, then hey what luck.
    But knowing that you lucked in, and others weren’t so lucky, you will not be able to escape from the inevitable sense of privilege, just like aristocrats of yesteryear.
    It’s not a bad feeling too.
    Kind of boosting.
    Hence if you like the Calvinistic view of predestination, now you know why.
    But can you be real with yourself and face it?
    It’s making you feel important.
    That’s why you like it.
    That’s why you’ve bought into it.
    Can you dig it?

    21:50 "Love, real love, sacrifices." Does this mean that I don't really love my parents because I haven't sacrificed anything for them?
    22:35 Taking responsibility isn't a sacrifice, it's the beginning of problem-solving.

    • @willywonka6948
      @willywonka6948 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @B M I will attempt to ignore your grammar in this response and instead focus on the question that you didn't answer. Why did Jesus have to die on the cross? I understand that it's to "pay the fine of sin" but I still don't understand why death was necessary. As God is omnipotent, and this debt of sin was toward God, God could have forgiven it. I don't understand why Jesus' suffering was necessary. And, if sin was such a big deal, why did God place the tree of knowledge in the same vicinity of Adam and Eve in the first place? God's omniscient, so God knew that they'd eat one. If God truly didn't want them to eat it, God wouldn't have created it in the first place.
      Also, you told me that, not only do I not love my parents, but that I don't care for them or anybody else. However, this is false, I care deeply about my parents and my siblings. I also love them, but since my definition of love (an intense feeling of deep affection) and your definition of love (sacrifice) are different, then what emotion do I feel toward my family?

    • @willywonka6948
      @willywonka6948 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @B M Okay, once again you dodged my initial question, but I'll copy it at the end of this comment. By the way, the definition that I was using for love "an intense feeling of deep affection." is the dictionary definition. Another definition provided is: "a great interest and pleasure in something". So, you may want to take your issue up with Webster and Oxford as opposed to me.
      However, the problem with your definition of love is extreme vagueness. Perhaps this is only because you didn't define it, but rather gave examples, so would you mind defining it? Until you do, I'm forced to conclude that helping somebody equals love, but here's my counterexample. I have helped out at a food pantry before and I didn't feel an ounce of love (dictionaries definition) toward the people that I was helping. I have also helped family members (in which I love) do things. So, by your definition of love, I love everybody that I'm willing to help (which would be everybody) and that's a ridiculously broad and vague use for such a strong word like love. I would much rather reserve it for people close to me and that I have a personal and deep connection with.
      Original Question Repeated: "Why did Jesus have to die on the cross? I understand that it's to "pay the fine of sin" but I still don't understand why death was necessary. As God is omnipotent, and this debt of sin was toward God, God could have forgiven it. I don't understand why Jesus' suffering was necessary. And, if sin was such a big deal, why did God place the tree of knowledge in the same vicinity of Adam and Eve in the first place? God's omniscient, so God knew that they'd eat one. If God truly didn't want them to eat it, God wouldn't have created it in the first place."

    • @willywonka6948
      @willywonka6948 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @B M Okay, I didn't ask for an example, I asked for a definition. Here's an example. Definition: a statement of the exact meaning of a word, especially in a dictionary. We need to explain our definitions so that we are both on the same page and are able to communicate in an effective manner. The disagreement we seem to have was based on the definition of love. I used the dictionary and you used a different source. I just asked for something more concrete that we can work with. As for my responses, they will go as follows.
      1. No, I'm saying Jesus didn't have to do anything for our sins, why would he? What does it do? And, if it just forgives us, why couldn't God just do that without Jesus dying.
      2. If God didn't intend for Adam to sin, and Adam sinned, then God made a mistake. (And I say God made a mistake because God is an omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent, perfect, spiritual being. Nothing can oppose God's will because God has the power to stop it and the knowledge that it would happen. Also, I do recognize that both Adam and Eve made mistakes, I'm merely suggesting that God also did). If God is capable of mistakes, then God is not perfect and then God's definition is no longer accurate. However, if we ignore this and continue with the definition that God is still an omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent spiritual being who is not perfect, then why should I trust God's word as absolute truth? This leads to the bible. You say that the answers to my questions are in the Bible and perhaps I should read more of it, but why should I take the Christian Holy text as opposed to all of the other ones? The Kitab-i-Aqdas, Tipitaka, Bhagwat Gita, Ved, Upnishad, Quran, Sunnah, Jain Agamas, Book of Mormon, Kebra Nagast, Holy Piby, Kojiki, Fudoki, Guru Granth Sahib, and Zend Avesta to name a few.
      Here's an analogy for the Garden of Eve. Imagine you have two young kids. Now, pretend you have to leave them unsupervised for some reason (perhaps you have to go to work). Now, you have some tide pods in the house and you recognize that they would kill the kids should they eat them. Would you, A) Set the colorful box on the table and tell your kids to not eat them, or B) Place them completely out of reach of the kids? God did the former in the Adam and Eve story and I don't understand why.

      @Paul Wieringa Jesus was born before the death of Herod. Why do you assume Luke is speaking of the same census event? Records do exist to show that Roman-controlled Egypt had begun a census as early as 10 B.C. The Census Luke is referring could have been earlier. Possible multiple census could have taking place. Luke implies 1st, which raises question if there were others. I would not consider this as a contradiction. Just fuzzy and uncertain historical timeline

    It seems that God alerts us to the existence of predestination so that we can get some understanding as to why others won’t accept God’s deal.
    We the believers have repented because of the orchestrated life that God gave us which made it possible.
    He gave us this life because He knew we would repent.
    But for those who won’t repent He doesn’t predestinate.
    He leaves them to the wiles of Satan.
    However it seems that Satan’s powers are so overpowering, that if God doesn’t get in there and predestinate, no one will be saved.
    It takes two to tango.
    It’s God’s will and our free will.
    Part of the predestination package is our free will.
    Those whom God saves are those who will ultimately throw their free will into the deal by saying yes to God. And it’s these ones that He is predestinating.
    And He tells us of the existence of predestination so we can get some understanding why others don’t become believers.
    It’s because, intrinsically, they don’t want to be believers. Therefore God doesn’t help them to become something they don’t want to be.
    But what a sadness.
    For we sorrow for the lost but with a Godly joy for our own salvation.

      I kind of thought u were right but the part u mentioned satan being too powerfull that we can't choose God is wrong which makes me disagree with you in the predestination idea cause we should choose him out of love and not out of reactions to our written life

      @@yosephfetene4663 Thanks for your reply. I am sure I could have explained it better.
      But let’s get it in perspective.
      If we were to compare Satan to a speck of dust compared to the entire universe, it gives us some idea of his incredible inferiority to God.
      He is nothing compared to God.
      However compared to you and I he is much greater. Angels are certainly greater than us.
      And it’s because of this greatness that God needed to step in and help out and He does so with predestination.
      Does that explain things better?
      Here is a video I did on this topic which perhaps you might care to take a look at sometime. God bless you.
