Cliffe Knechtle has a good dialogue with students at Texas State University. Recorded in October 2019.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

Although I am an atheist, I remember Cliff coming to my campus in the 1990s. He is one of the few believers I respect. He at least listens to the doubts others have.

I am learning more and more ways to make atheists KNOW that they are heard when they talk to me. Very important when talking to somebody about the veracity of the Bible, and the reliability of Jesus Christ.

@@mitchellc4 John 17:11 Jesus says both He and God are one. There are so many references in the Old and New Testament about Jesus being the Messiah, I am astonished that you can’t see that Jesus, Holy Spirit and God are one.
As a believer in christ, I’ve ultimately turned my life towards Christianity. I was once a Roman Catholic by heart, I learned so much from this video.

Just like Ice, water and steam are all H2o in 3 separate forms... Ice, water and steam are all H2o. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are all God.

Amen brother! Jesus is all over the old testament, even when Jesus dies on the cross he yells out the starting passage to Psalm 22 which is all about him.
I watched a lot of this guy's videos and liked them, but once I heard him say we don't hear about Jesus in the old testament, I don't think I can watch his stuff anymore.
Even in Genesis 1, when God makes man he says "let US make him in OUR image."
Just something to think about: if God's claims and work through men in the Old Testament amounts to nothing and is unreliable, then the new testament means nothing. In other words, of God didn't work through men before Jesus, why would he only work through Jesus and the men after Jesus? Jesus even quotes the old Testament and claims to have come to "fufill" it. I mean it's just crazy to think that this guy really only thinks the NT is credible and not the OT. Just one solid look at the OT's prophecies, and then one solid look at our recorded history shows us that God saw and spoke the future through man.
@@lackeyshaysu1217 Your comment about not listening to him anymore, because of his view of the OT, ma be a mistake. I believe his view is different than you are thinking. As he focuses on the NT, I believe it is because it is more direct evidence, and the OT would be more indirect evidence. I believe the OT has many prophecies, and Christiological views that you can find in each book, yet to understand whatJesus did on the cross is to hear about His death for our sins,, burial, and resurrection. The early believers were saved by believing in a coming Messiah, but now we have the Messiah, and need to look back, not forward to see Him, and believe.
@@scottm4042 I see your point, and I'm not saying that his view on the NT is totally Null and void, but what I am saying is that he only has half the glory of God. Half the story. This means that whoever he ministers to on the street will only get half the story, and this will confuse them when they go to the NT and see not only Jesus's references to the OT, but also all the other disciples, especially Paul. This to me is creating a sticky situation when trying to bring people to the truth of Christ. That is not content I particularly want to participate in.
My prayer, is that even though these people are only getting half the story from this man, that the seed will be planted and the full truth of God will be revealed to them.
@@lackeyshaysu1217 But, it seems you are judging him by one context. He refers to the OT as he says we were created with value, etc. In I Corinthians 15: 1 - 4, it says, this is the Gospel. People don't even have to know the rest of the NT, to be saved. Once a person has been born again, then they are free to search and learn as much as they can to grow in their relationship to God. But first, the Gospel.

The question should be is the bible the words of the Lord? and if so in which version has it been preserved in for our generation?
My answer is yea and in English it is the KJV. When the language is first form a bible follows shortly after and preserves both the language and God's word in that language. For example singular and plural are retained in thee and ye instead of using just you. Also any word added to make the sentence more understandable that is not in the textus receptus is in italics to let you know that the word has been added. Also the KJV includes multiple verses that have been removed from other bibles because the text that other bibles have been translated from is from the less popular and fewer manuscripts.
Sacrificial love. That's something I recently found I could manifest. Thanks for saying that, brother.

As I sit an watch this I can see that these young adults aren't able to recognize truth when they here it and I can also sense that it is because they are only able to see what's right in front of them, which is their preconceived idea that they are right and nithibg can prove it otherwise, close minded.
I can hear every single truth that is being stated by Cliffe and it truly baffles me how they can not, even though it's very clear.
Just to imagine that I was once just like them. Jesus, thank God, opened my eyes, simply by cooing to the end of myself and my preconceived notion of what I am willing to accept as an unbeliever, skeptic or cynic.

He is doing a fair job of proven the accuracy of the New Testament. One way is to read all the letters of early church fathers, like Polykarp. If we read those letters of just three of them they quoted the new testament so many times that if all the copies of the new testament were distroyed we could reassemble 24 of the 27 books from the new testament. There are also early new testaments all around the world back to the fourth century, when one is found they are commonly 99% accurate. Why, because the transcribers knew they were copying the very Words of God. When they found the Dead Scrolls, they were 1000 years older than any scripture we had, and again like 98.7% C C Z p

Jesus is in the Old Testament. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Nothing was made without Jesus, He created everything. Jesus was in the beginning and the Old Testament testifies of his coming. In the time of Moses, the blood of a lamb around the door to save from death is a foreshadow of Jesus. Glory to Jesus! He is the almighty God in the flesh. God himself came to save us. Only God alone could save us.

Mitchell C Jesus Christ is God. Only God can forgive sins, only God can raise people from the dead. You do find Jesus calling himself God in the Gospel of John, or the last Gospel. Jesus says things like, "Before Abraham was, I am." And, "I and the Father are one," and, "If you've seen me, you've seen the Father."

There is ONE Gospel, this is the Gospel of the Kingdom of God (YHWH)!
This is THE Gospel preached by Jesus (יהושע) during his 3+ year earthly ministry.
The Kingdom of God (YHWH) is the new world to come, inaugurated by Jesus (יהושע) at his return to Earth (Act 1:6; 3:21). This was the kingdom prophesied in the OT.
Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God (YHWH),
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God (YHWH) is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Mark 1:14-15 KJV
The New Testament record relates the content of the apostolic message as “the things concerning the Kingdom of God (Yahuwah)and Jesus (יהושע) Christ.” When Philip went into Samaria and “I preached Christ to them,” what they heard and believed is stated in this way: “But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the Kingdom of God (Yahuwah), and the name of Jesus (יהושע) Christ, they were being baptized, both men and women” Acts 8:5, 12
Believing in יהושע is a vital part of this, but his death burial and resurrection are only a segment of the overall Gospel.

In reference to cultural relativism, which I only just looked up. I think a temporary "putting aside" of personal bias could be useful in understanding a culture as it understands its self, *but* in order to develop a better world, we must acknowledge the impact of all behaviors and actions.
If we seek to improve the lives of each generation that follows this one, changes must be made based on research and study of all the factors that effect human life.
It is preferable to do this through understanding and communication, and any and all violence should be avoided as this will not create a long term solution, only understanding can achieve this goal.

I try to watch a lot of discourse on this topic and it truly is a balancing game. I was frustrated about the part I time stamped, but there were likely times I could've stamped for the students.
I imagine that a lot of public arguments can be difficult as you have a live audience (who may jump in to argue), and may make up your peers, and you might make a mistake but not stop to acknowledge or acknowledge and lose momentum.
I have had plenty of discussion and made plenty of arguments where an unanswered question or misunderstanding from one side of the other threw the whole thing off, so doing it in person must be even more challenging.

God did not create everything from nothing, this is not scriptural. This is what Hebrews 11:3 says : " By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible." this does not mean from nothing.

The reason I ask is because Jesus uses the, 'I am' statement found in Exodus 3:14 & they pick up stones to stone him for blasphemy. This is found in both those groups Bibles & in your own. The, 'I am' is the first time God gives his name & in that culture, at that time, it is saying you are God. John 8:48-59.
How do you think that passage doesn't claim Jesus is God? If it doesn't, why did they try to stone him? What law did he break?

Multiple people say ego eimi in the New Testament, but you’re not saying they are God?

The blind man just said ego eimi, did he just refer to Exodus and claim to be God?? Of course not
I believe in the Greek translation of Exodus it says
“Ego eimi HO ON”
Tell them “HO ON” has sent you (I Am has sent you)
Had Jesus said HO ON you may have a point, but he didn’t

Yes, actually God give us all the answers. The problem with most people is that they don't yet expect whom God wreally is. The aliens are the angels from the Bible. This is written in Ezekiel chapter one. Ezekiel describes a round craft that flies back and forth like lightning. The craft is described as round and huge and High. With a cristal dome over the top. The 4 angels are described as humanoid, with 4 wings each. And a helmet on there heads. The helmet has four faces on it. And the wings are described as straight wings, aircraft like. No father's are ever described.
