What about ZeroToMystary (ZTM), is this platform, resources, and instructors worth investing?

My friend is around 19-20 and after he graduated from Senior High Shool, he already has an internship. Today, I'm not sure if he dropped from college (not because he failed but to pursue his dreams) but now he's a entrepreneur in resident in Singapore. Its crazy how he just self studied and he is now a Founder of his own AI App.

I'm currently a high schooler senior and planning on going to a small nearby college to save money. I am majoring in Computer Science and have started doing Leetcode everyday. Although the market is really competitive, I've been watching a lot of your recent videos and they have drastically helped me with what I should do . Thank you 🙏

Hey how can i break into the network/linux/cloud industry? Im returning to work after a long time and I have a degree in electrical engineering. Is it tough to get into cloud ? I'm 27 years old is it too late for me ? Any advice?

can you still do this kind of career if you're in your 40's? I'm a high school Math teacher from the Philippines.

App Academy Open for self study then reputable bootcamp there’s one in SF I’m doing which has a professional project integrated. Switching fro medicine into tech 40-50 hours of study is a walk in the park.

Should I get a cs degree or go to a boot camp? A brutally honest and realistic answer? I failed university at 20 and now I just switched my major 5 times at 22 in community college. Rn I feel like a tunnel with no end? i might graduate college at 25-26 and if I need a college degree, How do I avoid using student loans?

Solid strategy. That approach would work quite well.

i know this is 2 months ago, but what are you doing now? are you still trying to decide on what to do?
really ask yourself if tech is for you. do you actually have passion for it? the competition for jobs in a bad economy is insane. are you willing to work harder than the rest?
if you really want to work as a dev or eventually an engineer, you have to start today, because its just going to get harder and harder to get in as time goes on.
College is a place for people to make friends. Those friends and connections will give you a BIG ADVANTAGE. they will be the ones getting you opportunities/jobs. Also, the degree on your resume is also a plus, especially if you dont have real engineering experience.
they things you learn in college can be learned just by reading books and googling. you just need to know WHAT TO LEARN. DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON BOOTCAMPS. Bootcamps only teach you the basics. they teach you enough to get a job at desperate startups and small companies. They wont teach you how the code actually works under the hood. You will miss a lot of fundamentals. And its the fundamentals that will make learning things easier.
Just look up college syllabuses, go to UIUC or UIC (or any other good public university) CS course syllabuses or use Aman's college notes. Use these to get topics on what to learn.
Also decide what part of tech you really want to do. is it web development? mobile/desktop apps? automation? networks? security? Research jobs and find out what they require, and learn those technologies.
For example, if you want to be a web developer stick to javascript and react. if you want to work for microsoft and work on one of their backend projects, you will need to learn about databases, azure, python/c++, .net. if you want to work for finance companies you will need to learn java, aws, ect.
Decide what you want to do, and stick with it no matter what. do not switch because you dont have time for quitting and restarting.
      SUMMARY:
      1. Decide if you actually like tech and are willing to sit down and learn 24/7.
      2. Decide what you want to do in tech. Pick an industry because you need to focus on learning ONE tech stack.
      3. Learn the fundamentals. How do computers work? Learn the layers between hardware and software. what is a data structure, how is it stored, how is it manipulated, what are different types of structures and which ones are helpful for certain scenarios.
      4. Look for jobs you want to work at. Check the technologies they use (what languages, what frameworks, networks, ect). LEARN THOSE TECHNOLOGIES.
      5. Build a few 100+ hour projects with those technologies. Use git to store those projects. Build useful projects for people/businesses.
      6. Put the projects you built for people/businesses on your resume as real work experience. make sure you can talk about them like you are passionate about them. A good project should show that you actually like building things with code and you are good at it.
      7. Apply to anything. Apply to small start up. apply to a tech giant. apply to anything that matches your skillset. if you meet 75% of a job's description, apply.
      8. During your interviews/calls, smile even if they cant see you. This is like your first date. They are humans. You want them to like you, so smile. And show them that even though you may not meet all of their requirements that you are willing to work hard.
Tech is really hard especially if you dont have a degree or friends in tech. The worst part is that there are so many people competing for jobs and every year they amount to technologies you need to learn to get in the door keeps growing.
If you arent good at interviews, or learning quick, or its hard for you to make friends, maybe tech isnt for you. In that case, I would recommend going into healthcare. maybe go to community college and get a 2-year nursing degree. pass the nclex and work as an RN. you wont be paid like an RN with a bachelors, but most places will pay for you to work and go back to school and get a bachelors and even a specialization. Healthcare job interviews are so easy. if you need a job, and you have a clean record, you got one.
Also if you need money to go back to school, the simplest answer is to go get a job. Your current loans will be frozen as long as you are still in school. So if you need to go back to school, you need to get a job. just apply to anything. no job is beneath you. go work at walmart, or any other store, ect. my local community college is $3K per semester iirc. If your loans already started, ask them to pause it and tell them about your situation. if you decide to get into tech, then get a job so you can pay for you loans' minimum payment while you study your ass off to get a tech job.
NOW is the time to work harder than ever before. its time to swim. sinking is not an option

not being funny mate but you've only really worked in the industry for less than a year and that was for a no-name company. most of the names you mention at the start of the vid were internships. why should i listen to you?
