    Man those who are starting college watching this kind of content are so lucky, one of the “bad sides” to watching these kinds of videos is that you realize you were never “dumb” or “not talented” enough you just didn’t have the right roadmap the right information, the right teacher to guide the decisions you make.

    im 21yo, in my 3rd year of bachelors(cse) and ngl since i started getting serious about career and what to do , i realised that people of my age have done so much already that im late and regret those 2 years of wasting time doing nothing with an average gpa , makes me feel demotivated but i try to counter that feeling by making myself believe that its never too late and 1 year can change a lot and i already started being dedicated , religiously learning , building stuffs , cut off useless scrolling time on social media and made a routine
    Im not confident enough to get an internship at microsoft and other big techs due to lack of skills but im gonna aim for it next year with a strong resume . 1 year ,12 months , 52 weeks , 365 days, each day making the most out of it .

    The fact that you need to have extensive prior experience to get an INTERNSHIP is wild! This applies to almost every industry. I left my career in sales about a year ago to pursue software development. I had no prior experience whatsoever but have become fairly proficient. I knew it was going to be an uphill battle about a month before I put in my resignation when I tried to hire a summer intern with no prior sales experience but had an insatiable desire to learn. My boss told me there were other qualified candidates that I had interviewed that would be a better fit. None of them had the personality for sales and didn't even seem interested in learning more other than "how to make more money." I've started applying for internships but haven't gotten any call backs yet. I'll get there but this notion of requiring 5 years of experience for a sub-entry-level position is making it very frustrating.

      unfortunately employers stick to the handbook on employing and not actually understanding the implications of what they’re doing. I like how you preferred passion over experience, as what defines someone’s victory in tackling problems at their workplace isn’t merely on experience but a strong mindset from passion.

I live in the rural area with no opportunities for software dev, so I fear that will be my one and only door here into the tech world. I want this, and I’m just scared to miss my chance and all this be for nothing. My issue is the when of it all. When do i start looking for internships? When do I actually have enough classes and knowledge to be useful to a company? When will I know enough to actually do a leet code problem? And will that be enough time to get good at it, apply to these internships, and actually get one before graduation? It’s all very stressful, not to mention the Resume part where I have literally nothing (technical) to put on it since I’m changing fields completely from healthcare to tech.

    You Said Python is Good But what about Java Script is it Good to go for DSA

      I discourage the use of JavaScript for coding interviews - it’s a bit too loose for my liking. But if you’re already used to it and finding success, then I wouldn’t necessarily recommend switching.

    hey aman,
    i am international high school senior from india. I recently got into Georgia Tech for CS and the cost for 4 years would be 200k USD. I also got into University of Texas at Dallas (UTDallas) for CS and I got a scholarship there. So at UTD my cost for 4 years is 50k USD.
    So do you think I should spend extra 150k USD and get a Georgia Tech CS Degree as it is a brand or should I save money and go to UT Dallas.

    • @AmanManazir
      @AmanManazir  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Thanks for the question! It depends on how much money you have. I lean towards picking Georgia Tech and grinding as hard as possible - put your entire life into CS + software engineering and within 3-5 years you'll earn the difference back. The name-brand does matter and more importantly Georgia Tech will be very competitive and will motivate you to do much more. Good luck.

      @@AmanManazir my dad does have enough money to pay extra 150k (if worth)
      so say i choose GT and grind hard. But like there's one more thing that scares me. The traditional CS/SWE jobs are gonna go down probably and i am international so it would be even more difficult for me to get companies who sponsor intl students.
      So could you suggest a backup plan i should lean on. Should I minor in finance or something.
      or should I just focus on core SWE and it will not be a problem?

    • @AmanManazir
      @AmanManazir  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Minoring in finance is a waste. I would recommend getting great at AI - if you can double major CS + something AI related, you'll be set for the new AI based economy. You can do this.

    • @AmanManazir
      @AmanManazir  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Will make a future video on this. Short answer is to get as much experience as possible this semester and summer.
      This includes tons of projects, hackathons, clubs, etc. Try to find an internship or research to put on your resume.
      Sometimes companies will hire people with little experience if they do well on the interview, but it's tough. Good luck.
