Let’s stop pretending leetcode is this insurmountable obstacle. Just do the Neetcode 150 in order and you’ll be fine. Should take you a month at most, assuming you’ve taken data structures. I did this and got 4 job offers, including an experienced hire job, this grad season

The fact that you need to have extensive prior experience to get an INTERNSHIP is wild! This applies to almost every industry. I left my career in sales about a year ago to pursue software development. I had no prior experience whatsoever but have become fairly proficient. I knew it was going to be an uphill battle about a month before I put in my resignation when I tried to hire a summer intern with no prior sales experience but had an insatiable desire to learn. My boss told me there were other qualified candidates that I had interviewed that would be a better fit. None of them had the personality for sales and didn't even seem interested in learning more other than "how to make more money." I've started applying for internships but haven't gotten any call backs yet. I'll get there but this notion of requiring 5 years of experience for a sub-entry-level position is making it very frustrating.
unfortunately employers stick to the handbook on employing and not actually understanding the implications of what they’re doing. I like how you preferred passion over experience, as what defines someone’s victory in tackling problems at their workplace isn’t merely on experience but a strong mindset from passion.
Thanks to your video I just realized why I have been failing every hackerrank coding interview. And I have had a lot of interviews. Lol. Thankfully I have been able to land an unpaid internship as an artificial intelligence engineer and we are riding with python and I am struggling mightily I'm going to start leetcode tomorrow so that I can get better at my job

last suggestion is what actually works, unfortunatelly if you're an international student your not going to have any connections and any referral you get off of linkedIn still won't get you interviews.

Any advice for someone who is about to graduate with no internship experience?
Will make a future video on this. Short answer is to get as much experience as possible this semester and summer.
This includes tons of projects, hackathons, clubs, etc. Try to find an internship or research to put on your resume.
Sometimes companies will hire people with little experience if they do well on the interview, but it's tough. Good luck.
