Every year is zero tolerance for illegal fireworks and every year I'm still waiting for SFPD to show up. I'm sure a blind person could figure out which location the fireworks are being lit from.

Here in Menlo Park near Facebook HQ, we have a ton of Illegal Fireworks going off all day long and still going off and no Menlo Park Police nowhere to be found, the fireworks are still going off at this minute as we try to get to sleep for work in the morning fireworks are still popping loudly and seem not stop how disrespectful these folks are here in Menlo Park.
At this minute as I write this they are still popping a whole lot of the fireworks 12:51am Friday July 5th. 2024.

This is the first year I had to really fight the fireworks, they kept dumping embers that would trickle down and remained lit! I kept fighting the embers with the hose for literally 4 hours straight. I'm exhausted!! 😡

My large SoCal city bans all fireworks except for official displays, including enough neighborhood displays to satisfy everyone but die-hard pyros. But it's been unnerving hearing thr constant artillery barrage for days echoing off the mountains from some of the neighboring cities, i half expect to see a burned-out wasteland thr next time I drive north on the 495.
Not really, of course, but I don't understand how people can enjoy fireworks after some of the deadly fires of the last decade or so. Remember when that gender reveal party's fireworks down nesr San diego ended up killing people as well as destroying homes?

I was following the Almaden Lake fire as it blew up and SJFD had to call for help. As a disabled veteran with combat trauma i resent these fireworks like you wouldn't believe, and PD are powerless to stop it. Veterans and animals suffer endlessly during these evenings. The state needs to temporarily deputize citizens on July 4 to enhance enforcement of illegal fireworks. They should also be allowed to taze anyone shooting off fireworks or even possessing them and arrest them with a mandatory 1 year imprisonment with no parole.

The view from Pier 39 SF had a good view of the fireworks, the fog were just pretty much spectators. The one near Aquatic Park from a farther view looked worse with the fog.

People celebrate the 4th, I celebrate the 5th.
Every year this goes on. Our neighbors across the way were letting off fireworks till 1am in the morning. I reported them to the police around 11:30pm, what good it did, I don't know because at 1am they were still firing aerial fireworks here in the East Bay! Worse thing about this is we live near Lime Ridge here in Concord, we already had a fire up there this week, one of those hot ambers hit that dry grass you can kiss that whole ridge goodbye!! 😡

I did my own fireworks once, when it was legal. Found a nice big wide open field so nothing would catch fire and used a bucket of sand to set each kaboom stick. Didn’t have a single problem other then burning through $50 of fireworks in like 15min lol.

I would like to see how many 911 Fireworks called and how many citations were given or responded to.
I called 911 when over 30 Adults not from the neighborhood started shooting off skyrockets. 911 operator stated to call non-emergency line, but will relay message.
This went on for an hour until some of the fireworks ignited underneath a neighbors cars. I stopped them from firing off any more, but the group stayed around for another hour before leaving.
Another group came around after midnight, I called the non-emergency line. The group left 20 minutes later after finishing their fireworks.
Not a single Patrol Car came by. If I can expect Cops not to show up, then I know I have to take care of this early and on my own.
Those groups don't care if the homes catch fire, They don't care to pick up the trash they leave behind. They are smart enough to risk your life & possessions without risking their own.

I moved to Seattle several years ago and have really enjoyed lighting full sized fireworks in my driveway and think there should be places where you can set them off. That being said this year has been especially and I haven't gotten more than a few hours sleep the past 2 nights because of window shaking booms at 3 am. A holiday isn't too much fun when you can't sleep so please people show a little bit of consideration and only light you're fire works on the 4th and stop at midnight. As much as I like fireworks I like sleep more and will be voting for a complete fireworks ban if I can't sleep tonight.
