    I really liked the "auto supply" check box on planetary and interstellar logistics towers (also the "hat") that will, when working with blueprints, will fill those towers with shuttles and freighters on placement.

    I always enjoy your factory game based videos. I've learned a lot from watching them. I'm not quite as formal as you are with calculating out ratios exactly and such (that's too much like my job) but I do appreciate the elegance of a well planned design. And there are getting to be games now that have so many options to play with.

    I love the little drone idea. Now all they need is the one at the other extreme, some sort of space station / space elevator with it's own super-hauler that can store and carry multiple items but the super haulers can only go between these huge space stations. Then all bases are ticked for you distribution needs.

    Don't forget the new tier 2 Chemical Plant. They even said that the model is currently temporary until they implement the final design in a future update.

      @@musizlover2008 tbh power is just a feel good number once your get your Dyson sphere going or artificial sun. Building space and frame rate are your biggest enemies once you starting to saturate the whole galaxy.

      @@musizlover2008 Tier 2 no question, (at least till the combat upgrade). The saved space can produce a LOT more power, not to mention the small savings from not needing an entire extra logistics station. Far more time efficient too. It's the same with any of the higher tier machines and proliferator, less energy efficient, but the space/time/framerate savings are worth.

    This will be good for the hubs... Make a charging station that also refills your inventory with belts and inserters and whatnot... Or eventually just be on the planet I guess.

    Maybe you mentioned it, but the Logistics Stack multiplier i believe increases how much can stack in the left side columns when the bots bring you your requested goods. If you dedicate slots to requesting all your most used items, it actually gives you a huge increase in effective inventory capacity since the bots fill that up first. You just move the items to your main inventory when needed. Almost like each square acts as a small storage container.

      @@professorpwerrel I know you can't craft from it so I'm pretty sure you have to shift it over, it's 2 clicks but you just set your request to be higher than the stack size x the stack multiplier so it's always filling some of your inventory. Used like that for when you are mass upgrading. Have like 10 hats at your belt production zone 5 delivering the upgrades and 5 retrieving the old belts as they clutter up. The second part of the "Collect All" option would be good here but it's not correctly working.

      @@HelicopterShark Good points, I was misremembering how annoying it was to get belts for manual construction. Once you're dealing with blueprints it'll be barely an inconvenience

    These bots are a _God send!_
    My sky is not filled with these handy little fidget spinners! All my assembly stations have them! In any given assembly station, each ingredient item has a 2x2 storage with a distrubutor, and the final product goes into a 2x2 or 2x4 which also has its own distributor. And if an item needs heavy fabricating, and becomes very high demand, i stack 2x4s. Then I surround that stack with multiple single-tier 2x2s with distrubutors on those, supplied from the 2x4 via loaders. That way, rather than the 10 outbound bots from 1 distributor, i can have 30 outbound bots. Or 40. Or possibly more.
    I don't care what anyone says. I love this new system.
    My only complaint is i cant adjust the desired product quantity on a recipient building. Which is an inconvenience at worst. But negligible any other time.

    They should really implend the following
    A) Let me decide what can be placed inside the warehouse. Like with Factorio, where I can say I want belt and iron on place x and y and the rest is locked.
    B) Let the receiving end be able to gather more than 1 resource
    C) Let them be able to deliver from and to PLS and ILS
    Only than can you have a cool design, otherwise it is going to be so big and not worth to try and build something cool.
    The idea is of the spinners is a nice touch. I like them a lot.
    I usually lock all place apart from the first one, since the spinners will just keep on loading until no room is left for them to load.

    Love the update on this keep it up, also did you know that the planetary logistics tower has 4 spaces instead of 3 😁 and there is now a upgrade to the chemical plant called a quantum chemical plant produces more than the normal one

    Hey Nilaus. While you're on a break from Factorio, I'd love it if you did a Factory Town series. I've been playing it a lot lately and it's changed so much since I last played. I always learn a lot from watching your videos, so it'd be cool to see you play it.

      I played Factory Town like 2 months ago but asked for a refund after 2,5 hours of playtime. Don't know why, but it didn't click for me like Factorio did. Do you think it has changed much? I still have to try DSP though, seems a lot of fun, but something keeps me away from buying it.

    Couple other nice things in this patch:
    Logistics Stations can now "auto-replenish", so it will automatically pull drones from your inventory instead of manually having to do every one
    New chemical plant with 2x base speed of the normal chemical plant.
    4 slots in planetary logistics instead of 3
    A lot of CPU and GPU optimizations

    Currently it seems that the second part of the "collect everything from you" function isn't working. It's meant to be able to sort your trash can out to other boxes.

    Strange... It shows that there has been a new video added today and that this playlist now contains 4 videos. But then it says "One not available video is not displayed". Maybe some bug?
    Video suggestion: It would be awesome to see a cut of all the Dyson Spheres that you have built altogether. I mean in all savegames/playthroughs. Maybe also with some commentary on the stats and their usage as well as the system's function in which you have built them. In one of the many videos we get to see a few that have been built in one savegame but since there are at least 3 now already, the total number of spheres is surely fun and enjoyable to watch!

    what a good way to implement logistic bots simply - rather than factorio style provider/requester chests with threshold, just "balance all the chests of this item equally" - very nice

    I'd love it if your blueprints were saved as zip files and offer an all-in-one zip as well... well found the zip. too bad it isn't listed first =/
    if you could upload to the dsp blueprint website it would be great too!
    another 2 suggestions. put your prints into folders so it's easier for us.
    mark the output sorters of the HUB production so it's easier to set if we dont have the building/item researched.

      Gonna make a huge difference early game... can't count how many times I run back and forth to the mall to grab more belts/sorters/buildings... and those few extra items that land in your inventory that you just don't want.
      Can also impact any part of the game, just have requests for belts/sorters/power poles always on and as part of a hub have it setup those for delivery to icarus.

      @@mogman5 i don’t see much benefit to it in the end game honestly, with the large inventory it’s easy to carry enough for monster builds. Maybe if you can put those on top of anything to completely remove belts it’s another story

      @@Redneck353 If I'm reading those upgrades right, you can hold ~10 stacks per logistic slot eventually. Will make the truely monster builds a bit smoother from the extra storage alone, and I bet you can get it to a point where you essentially have infinite solar panels e.t.c. in your belt so you never ever have to stop building. (literally drop a blueprint for stations with buildings feeding into these logistic drones chests, drop a planet sized blueprint. Go ham.)

      @@jasam01 I reached a point my computer is melting ... and with the last lvl inventory i never had a lack of stuff unless my mall had a struggle with material income, IMO the best use i could imagine is to replace belts totaly if you can put those "hats" on top of smelters, assemblers, and so on.
      Would make lower rss seeds still rely on belts probably due to limited rss
      Do you know if there is a slot in the towers for some of those drones so they can suply?

    The way i see it is that there are three use cases for logistics. 1. Move between planets. 2. Move between locations on a planet. 3. Move within the same build.

    I am running for achievements again. Figured enough updates happened to make it a little more fun and different. I have to say, these little fidget spinners are nice for some smaller builds or cramming cube builds in weird spots.

    Things you missed.
    You can drag and drop an item from the inventory to an empty logistics slot in your inventory you don't have to search through the menu this also means that you can use the slot multiplyer as additional inventory even if you don't have a hat for that item.
    Stack multiplier = how many stacks of an item can fit into the logistic columns. So at x2 you can fit 600 belts or 400 sorters before it overflows into your inventory space. I wish the limit bar had some smart checkboxes that you could set the min or Max to the stack multiplyer or multipler +x so that way you don't have different numbers for different things. Stack multiplier upgrades with inventory size.
    Limiting how much a hat requests is done by limiting the auto storage of the box/boxes under that hat.
    You can't hand craft from the logistics column even though the replicator says that you have the mats in stock (perhaps they should shade the mat blue if you have the mats only in the logistics column as I can see a reason to prevent direct crafting so you can "lock" some from being used)
    Worth noting that you can't limit their range with a slide bar like you can on towers, something that could have use cases.
    A good use for them is as single item PLS towers. Good because they don't have the footprint collisions that towers do. They can effectively add up to 2 slots to a standard 1 tower factory design as you can usually fit the 3x3 storage box in that awkward space either side of the tower and use them either for a material that is not used up quickly (10*carry capacity/travel time) or where I see their use as the supply of proliferation spray or warpers to that tower freeing up those slots.
    They will save so much on early game spegetti. That you may end up not needing as big of a early game green turbine production because the cost of green turbines can be offset by the savings on long belt chains connecting factories.

      I wish they did it that you could have a dedicated storage box with a hat on it that just had bots (figit spinners) in the storage box and these bots just went out to fill and assist in the demand of other hats in range. But thinking about it that's likely op as they just increase in efficiency way to fast. Think your uber eats delivery driver vs a dedicated restaurant delivery driver for dominos.

    I spent a few hours last night (24h ago) poking around with the logistics bots. (Fidget-spinners! Hahahah! Awesome name.)
    Endgame, possibly add the hats to boxes on your everything-everywhere hub.
    Stuff that I found useful to auto-add to Icarus:
    * belts
    * sorters
    * fuel rods
    * logistics bots (fidget-spinners!)
    * logistics drones
    * logistics vessels
    My next project will be to use the quantum chemical plants to free up space. Then a hydrogen-neutral refinery line.

    Nice addition to DSP, something that has been in Factorio for quite a while but you need to get all the way to drones. This gives access at a significantly earlier stage in the game then Factorio does.

    These logistic bots will be useful for handling green turbines and organic crystals in the early game. Those never really fit into any designs before we get the towers.

    One thing that is still unclear is if the box has a limit set do the drones keep or override that? So for example for a Mk1 belt box if you feed directly from an assembler into that so limit the box to maybe 4 stacks. Then have bots on that to collect the belts from your inventory when you start upgrading. Are they able to put them in the box even tho the box is filled to the limit you set?

    2 questions.
    1. How do the hats work on big boxes? Can you put 2 hats on a single box?
    2. Do the hats work on machines as well?

      Only on storage boxes and only one per stack of boxes (small or large) you can add boxes to the top of the storage box that has a hat already on it without removing the hat but you do have to take the hat off to reduce the height of a stack of boxes if you ever need to. Also you can't put a hat on liquid tanks so you just put a small box next to it taking from the tank to transport those but I wouldn't see this as worth as you almost always want the liquids faster than the bots can carry

    Hi, I have a question about these logistics distributors: is there a way to limit the total quantity of items requested in a chest ? In your example with the electromagnetic turbines, the drones will eventually transport all 1400 of them in the requesting chest. Is there a way to tell the system to keep like only 50of them ?

    One thing I frequently do if I'm just running a little low on something that's not coming in for some reason is create a little mini-factory, just a quick chain with assemblers/smelters connected to a storage box for each ingredient and one for the end product. I then after a while forget where I put them and have to search all over the planet if I'm running low. Something like this would be a huge benefit for my rough playstyle.

    This is a pretty good game. The only change I didn't like is when they added sprayers to belts; I think it just made it way too complicated. I played DSP and finished it twice before the newer changes. I will play it again when they add combat.

    Sooooo its just Factorio's bot system. Minus the seperate trash slots that factorio has.
    The benefit of these bots is, you don't need to build a stupid expensive tower for logi drones, much less a big tower that takes space.

    anybody else wish they behaved like the ones from factorio? they need so much more nit picky stuff in this game.
    the distributors should be able to share bots, share item availability, and a few more than 10 in one task
