Looking forward to seeing your video of the Stretcher Track’. I saw your entry in the ammunition box. 😁

Haha… the mission. We only did some parts of the stretcher. Most of it was fully off track. I don’t think I did any filming on the stretcher at all 🤣

Stunning mate, but those plants look brutal

Thanks mate. Yeah they are a little nasty but we tend to get stung all the time as they are everywhere, so you semi get used to it...

Awesome video as always Aaron, those mountain vistas looks exceptional and kudos for pushing through such rough terrain and aggressive flora to get there. I've only done the short Lower Portals hike at Mt Barney but would love to explore the park more when I eventually get back over the SEQ.

Hi mate, nice vid. Looks like the regrowth from the 2019 fires wasn't too bad that way. I tried the route via Montserrat Lookout and Cedar Pass last week but the scunge was horrendous.
Did you take the ridge straight up from Graces' Hut?
    Any issues with land access?
Looks like you took the track down via Bulimbah Nature Refuge instead of heading south-east along the fire trail.
Is it acceptable to go that way?
    Cheers.

Thanks mate. Yeah, I wouldn’t recommend going via Focal. I’ve heard it’s nasty in there now. We did indeed take the closest ridge to Graces. As far as I am aware they are OK with walkers passing through.
Descending via Bulimbah is the closest access for both ascent / descent but I would recommend getting in contact with Mt Barney Wilderness for permission first for this route.
      I hope that helps.

I went via Focal/Cedar Pass before the fires and it was fine. At the moment I'd call it pretty much impassable.
Reckon I'll give it another shot to Double Peak going up via the way you did.
I have reservations about doing the full Ballow Circuit, especially the Big Lonely ridge.
If you've committed to going down that way and it's just a chest-high tangle, it would end up being a nightmare.
Have you heard anything about that area?
      Thanks Aaron.

@barefootmedia648 haven’t heard of anything down that region recently, but I would assume it would be nasty. Pretty sure the fires burnt down there.
