I grew up hunting as a kid and stopped when I was 12 or 13. I have always loved hunting and fishing but after my dad left I didn’t have anyone to hunt with. I used a climber one time as a kid but it was set up for me I never knew how to set them up. Now just this year at 39 years old I decided I had to get back into hunting I don’t need to have anyone to go with I can go by myself. But now that I waited so long to get back into it I am relearning everything and learning a lot of things I never learned along the way. I never was able to harvest a deer. The only time I had one come out on me while I was hunting was the time I used the climber I was 10 or 11 at the time and I thought it was so awesome that I could just climb a tree like that so I climbed like 35 feet up a big pine tree. When the deer came out I was too scared to shoot because I was so high up and there wasn’t harnesses back then I don’t think, if there was I definitely wasn’t wearing one. But I was afraid the recoil of the 12 ga was gonna make me fall out of the tree lol. I ended up passing up the only chance I ever had to land one. Hopefully I can get one in January into the beginning of Feb season 2024. I will be so stoked . I’ve been out about 4 times this year for doe and the 6 day buck but no luck because I still suck. I’ve been using a blind because I don’t have a climber but I’m gonna get one for January. Hopefully the good lord blesses me with a big buck. Thank you for your video. New to the climber world and put it to use this hunting season. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxlQ7TDIrnnSXXbRgFFaxqwullRJJIuYAs I felt safe while climbing up and down a tree. It did take some time getting used to climbing and descending the tree. Once I figured it out I was comfortable going in climbing a tree knowing I was going to be up a tree quickly and most importantly quite not scaring every deer out of my area. I am 6’2” and 240 lbs, fit and comfort were great. I bow hunt and found no issues hunting from it. It is a little bulky to carry in and out of the woods vs some of the smaller open front climbers but I thought it was worth the bulk/weight due to ease of climbing (using the rail to sit on) and comfort for long sits.
Update definitely follow these tips I rushed up a tree without checking my teeth when I was wild boar hunting and had an accident. I ended up a few miles into the woods dangling from my harness. You should always use one and don’t end up like me. I stayed over 24 hours dangling before a local farmer found me. I thought I was coyote bait. Good thing I was able to forage some bugs on the tree to stay alive. I felt like an off brand bear gryls tbh. These are great tips Dylan. I won’t be rushing my climbs anymore!

I saw some of your fishing videos I didn’t know you made hunting videos as well. us new guys appreciate the good how to content. Hey Joshua thanks for watching and leaving a comment! I really appreciate it, but once you get up you can attach the harness to the tree and your safe! You can attach it at the bottom of the team and then slide it up as well when your going up, but I usually wait till I get to the top
@@ExtremeOutdoorsmen yes, is that how you carry the stand through the woods normally? Those two pieces interlock/stack tighter making the stand easier and more compact to carry. Just have never seen them a summit stand carried that way.
@@RDO156 I thought the same thing. I hike 3 miles round trip to my trees. If I did em like this I’d get snagged on every sticker bush and honeysuckle shrub on the way. To each his own though. If it’s comfortable rock it bro 🤙🏼
@@michaelws6247 I own three of those climbers, been using them since 2005, never in my life have a carried that way. I kinda was curious if there was a benefit to carrying it like that and I’m missing something? From my experience and knowledge, I’d say what a pain in the ass! I might make a how to video that illustrates how the pieces go together and once attached to the tree, the importance of using a tether and the correct place to attach it to platform. That’s something I often never see in how to videos like this and it’s pretty basic and crucial for safety reasons. I’ve had the platform drop once several years ago and it wasn’t fun. It was also the last time I didn’t use the tether. Maybe I’ll make a how to video? I’m not knocking this guy, I just want to know is there a benefit from carrying this way?
@@RDO156 tether is huge. The first time I tried out a climber I was about 8 feet up and the bottom dropped. My wife was with me so she just moved it up so I could reach but yea. The thought of being even just 8 feet without anyone to help.. that would be a hell of a way to start a hunting day.
That's pretty cool. I've always used a ladder stand. So much easier with a climber for sure 👍 I've got some tree's up at the cabin I want to cut some limbs off and I could use that just to get up the tree to cut them. Awesome 👌
@@ExtremeOutdoorsmen but in fairness I wondered when you breath, take a breath, ikr it's so hard when filming I've been trying myself, I don't like hunting but was listening to a bigfoot story where the guy was talking about this tree stand, I had no clue what it was so had to look it up, great video just not something I personally can support but I wish you all the luck and success in your channel,. ***The bottom nestles neatly into the top for a compact fit. Also, get Thirdhand straps that connect top to bottom for safety and for silently holding the unit together when carrying. With all respect, this is NOT the way to pack and carry a Summit stand.
Thanks for watching dude and putting in your word!! Thats how I learned how to pack it and carry it lol Been doing this for years!! Thanks for the input
@@ExtremeOutdoorsmen I apologize, as I was hurrying when writing my comment. Your video will help lots of people. Over time I learned to nestle the parts together and secure with the straps that also lock the top and bottom together once up the tree. Maybe play with it and see if it works for you. Keep up the good work!
Have had one for 15 plus years, it's great, but I agree the slide into each other so they take up half the space if your not walking down a nice trail. Also mine came with a rope connecting the top and bottom sections so they are attached together while climbing. Only thing I'ld say, when I was younger and first got it , I weighed 135 lbs and one frosty morning the whole setup slide down the tree about two feet while I was climbing, just didn't bite in enough or I didn't weigh I dunno, but I just about pooped myself. They are super light compared to other climbers I've tried, like my dad's instead of cables has another metal bar, so it grabs real good, but heavier, takes longer to set up and makes noise with metal and bolts clanging together no matter how hard you try to be quiet.
I use the summit viper steel which is cheaper than the summit viper sd. It's cheaper by half the price or so but it's made of steel which is a bit heavy but isn't a bother
Summit tree stands are $300 and up. Not sure where you find a summit climbing tree stand for $100 to $200. Maybe used online. This guy sounds like he just smoked a lot of weed before this video. Don't get stoned before you hunt or use any kind of tree stand.
He doesn't have the plastic foot pieces set correctly and he is missing the bungy cord that locks your feet in, the stand works even better with those pieces included and set correctly.
There’s not righr ans way wrong to have those foot pieces bro lol they where I like em on my stand! Works way better for me. And that bungy cord piece is a pain in the butt I took that off it’s annoying on your feet. 👍🏻 thanks for watching
@@ExtremeOutdoorsmen You are having problems with the bungy because you have the foot holders to far away from your feet, it all work perfectly if you set it close around your boots. Your are having to tilt your feet way to high up to move the stand your way, but its your stand do what you want.
Lol what!? It’s super quiet man! And plus you don’t even have to be quiet setting your stand up in the woods, that means nothing. Once your set up your all good. Deer are used to loud noises. Doesn’t bother them
@@ExtremeOutdoorsmen you make that noise of pulling straps and teeth banging into bark in my woods and deer not only run, they never come back. must be nice where you are.
The first lesson is. Don't buy a climber that uses cables instead of chains. The second lesson is, don't take hunting advice from a guy with a man bun.
mine doesn't have cables or chains. it has a bar with a knife edge that digs into the tree. not sure what make/model it is, but it's that cat's ass. has a proper seat with a back on it. the seat is reversible, so that once up in place, you can choose to have the tree at your back, or sit facing the tree.

Thanks for watching ans dropped a comment! Really appreciate that. And yeah gotta be careful lol gotta find the right tree 💪🏼🤣 you’ll learn!
What do you attach the harness too ??? I Always thought these don’t sound safe but now I see how the mechanics of it work it can be a really good option. I saw some of your fishing videos I didn’t know you made hunting videos as well. us new guys appreciate the good how to content. Lots of other veteran hunter fishermen outdoorsman just act like everyone should already know this stuff.
Hey Joshua thanks for watching and leaving a comment! I really appreciate it, but once you get up you can attach the harness to the tree and your safe! You can attach it at the bottom of the team and then slide it up as well when your going up, but I usually wait till I get to the top
Where is your accent from? I seriously can't tell. Canada? Maine?
Haha Michigan Man! Thanks for watching 😂💪🏼
Really great video man!
Thanks for watching dude 🔥🔥
Am I missing something? Why do you stack the stand like that?
What do you mean stack the stand?! lol Like to carry it on my back?
I like your video man. Thanks you for the information
Thanks a lot for watching and dropping a comment man! Appreciate that 💯💯
I have 4 of em love em here in Ga we have pine's
That was extremely helpful
I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment!! Good luck in the woods 🙏🏻
Super review
Lmao thanks 🤣🤣 appreciate the support
These stands say 8-20 tree diameter. That tree has to be larger. So my question is, how much larger than 20 inches can you go?
Honestly man it’s up to you and how comfortable you are with climbing the tree I’ve gotten into some giant trees as long as the bark is good 🙌🏻
@@ExtremeOutdoorsmen Any recommendations on when there is too much wind to be safe? Or would you say that is a comfort thing as well?
@@jonah1821 I think you have diameter and circumference mixed up. That tree he attached to is 10 maybe 12" diameter max.
Thanks for the video. I have never used one of those! Looks simple enough.
Thanks for watching dude! And yeah I love these climber tree stands man, they are super nice and easy to use 🤙🏼
Definitely need more of an angle setting up that treestand
Alright!! Thanks for the comment 🙌🏻
That's pretty cool. I've always used a ladder stand. So much easier with a climber for sure 👍 I've got some tree's up at the cabin I want to cut some limbs off and I could use that just to get up the tree to cut them. Awesome 👌
Right on!! Thanks for watching
Dude why do you sing song talk?
Why don’t you!?
@@ExtremeOutdoorsmen but in fairness I wondered when you breath, take a breath, ikr it's so hard when filming I've been trying myself, I don't like hunting but was listening to a bigfoot story where the guy was talking about this tree stand, I had no clue what it was so had to look it up, great video just not something I personally can support but I wish you all the luck and success in your channel,. But hay if your at 7k you don't need my subscription. Just remember to take a breath..it could be worse every time I turn a camera on my husband he does this childish squeak voice I'd never heard before starting to film my macaw in free flight, pop over I don't post much on TH-cam it's more tiktok for me... last time I looked at my sub count here it was 240 so I can appreciate the work put in for 19k I've 8k on tiktok one of these days I'll push them over to TH-cam, when my husband learns not to squeak.
Super! Thanks. ☺️
Yeah thanks for watching 💪🏼💪🏼
OMG! Nails on a chalkboard! How many times can this guy say, “cliiiibmer treestand.”
Lol as many times as I want it’s my video 😂😂
Awesome video bro. Never used one but need one when I get back to bow hunting.
Yeah man they are super nice man! I only use climbers when I’m hunting 🔥
Good Demonstration ❗❗❗

His words are in slo mo or something, I love the video tho😂
Haha sorry about that 😂 it’s jus my accent
***The bottom nestles neatly into the top for a compact fit. Also, get Thirdhand straps that connect top to bottom for safety and for silently holding the unit together when carrying. With all respect, this is NOT the way to pack and carry a Summit stand.
Thanks for watching dude and putting in your word!! Thats how I learned how to pack it and carry it lol Been doing this for years!! Thanks for the input
@@ExtremeOutdoorsmen
I apologize, as I was hurrying when writing my comment. Your video will help lots of people. Over time I learned to nestle the parts together and secure with the straps that also lock the top and bottom together once up the tree. Maybe play with it and see if it works for you. Keep up the good work!
Thanks man! 💪🏼
Mine also came with bungee straps on the foot platform for your feet to lock into while climbing.
wish I woulda seen this video before I got my stuff lol
Thanks for watching!! I appreciate the support man 👏🏼👏🏼
Did I miss what brand stand you are using? I'm looking for a nice budget stand. If there is such of thing. Thanks man
Summit viper climber tree stand lol thanks for wtzhubd man! Appreciate The support 💯💯
I use the summit viper steel which is cheaper than the summit viper sd. It's cheaper by half the price or so but it's made of steel which is a bit heavy but isn't a bother
I think this guy dosnt believe in commas periods … just run on sentences
Lmao what’s wrong with that guy? 🤣🤣
Holy shit the voice was killin me
Lol sorry bro it’s just my accent 😂😂
@@ExtremeOutdoorsmen nah I ment that in a good way brother
Thanks for watching and supporting dude
You left one thing out about safety your thether between top and bottom is also very important please add that as priority. Thank you. God Bless
Great point! You are definitely right, I mentioned that in my recent video. I appreciate you watching and supporting 💯💯
You could nest them tighter.
I could man! But that’s how I use my climber and how I like it 👍🏻

Yeah reminded me of the Last kingdom from Netflix..
Summit tree stands are $300 and up. Not sure where you find a summit climbing tree stand for $100 to $200. Maybe used online. This guy sounds like he just smoked a lot of weed before this video. Don't get stoned before you hunt or use any kind of tree stand.
Lmao jokes on you, I’ve never smoked a day in my life bro that’s the funniest comment I’ve ever read! 🤣🤣

Alright we’ll then don’t watch 🤣🤣
Country hippie stoner? 😂🤘🏼
Lmao I love this comment 😂😂
Damn this guys voice
What about it? You got a problem
Sounds like if Carl Childers was from California 🤣😂😅😁
Lol thanks man! Appreciate that 😂😂
Let’s get him to 10k!!!!
Yeeesss thanks dude 🔥🔥
Super!
Thanks for watching!!
How the hell do you get in and set this up quietly 🤣
Great for private property I guess?

Lol I love the comment 😂
They have ones with chains? And why are those better?
The third lesson is, don't bend over in front of Peter Perkins.
mine doesn't have cables or chains. it has a bar with a knife edge that digs into the tree. not sure what make/model it is, but it's that cat's ass. has a proper seat with a back on it. the seat is reversible, so that once up in place, you can choose to have the tree at your back, or sit facing the tree.
