I’ve actually been looking for a way to make my iPhone better as a slide copier, and I think that long range macro might be just the thing I’ve been looking for. Certainly worth a shot. Thanks, Shayne!
I think it might be fun to comare the iPhone 13 Pro/Max Macro with the same offering on the Samsung S22 Ultra. Also, using the iPhone, there's an app (CameraPixels) that has a "focus stack" mode that works pretty well for increasing the DOF on "macro" shots.
Excellent video thank you. You don't mention the other macro lens by Reeflex, the Macro 10X ( you used the Macro 75mm). Did you test it? Do you think it is necessary to have both or the 75mm is enough?
I'm just not seeing what you are. To my eyes, the app images are just as sharp as the lens images. Totally agree on the DOF issue, but Apple is appealing to the average consumer who doesn't know what the DOF of a macro lens should be. I think you should have also included the Moment macro lens which gives you the ability to go in much closer.
@@ShayneMostyn all the new videos are with the 13 pro max i have the s22 ultra my friend the 13 pro max and in the videos it seems the pro max is better but then we compare photos on the daily basis why does the s22 ultra take better pictures when me and my friend compare but then in most videos I've seen the iPhone seems better but when we compare the s22 ultra is miles ahead. Not sure if most companies just make better software to treat images from iPhones and then the samsung doesn't get good software.
@@unknown-wm9ru i mean miles ahead the problem is the software lacks but you can not compare 50 mp vs 108 mp on editing software if you load the images the S22 ultra definitely is better because it captures more detail. But when you post on instagram its optimized for iphone thats why you get all the wort memes about andriod cameras. Just because the software is specifically made for one brand in mind.
The camera app on the iPhone is always going to be better than any app for astrophotography. Reexpose and others will do the 30 seconds, but not nearly as good as night mode with ProRAW.
@@ShayneMostyn I mean I can’t try proraw but I installed the reexpose app on my iphone 12 using the long exposure to 30-45 seconds I even got a somewhat starry night sky even tho I live in a populated city with so much light pollution and I even tried taking some usual shots and the results were phenomenal like fr
Cool comparison Shayne! Can clearly see how the iPhone ai doesn’t realise it needs to adjust the DOF when it comes down to macro shots unlike the lens creating that environment. You have given me some ideas to try out !
Fantastic stuff, Shayne! Inspired me to go out and give it a try.
Looking forward to what you come up with mate.

Awesome shayne!
Do you still recommend reflex for the 14 pro max iPhones?

Cheers buddy, very helpful thanks 🇬🇧
about the macro mode, is it using a macro lens or is this just digitally magnified and that's the reason there is pixelation? True of all iPhones?
Any brand gets a little pixilated when using in camera macro rather than a lens

Great comparison mate. The lens does provide for a much smaller depth of field but is so much clearer.
Absolutely mate
What temperature you're having this time of year, Shayne?
-2 up to about 15 Celsius.
@@ShayneMostyn, that's not too bad.
So now what happened to the s22 ultra ?
Nothing? Not sure what you mean?

Can u compare astrophotography with the reexpose app and other phones or just the standard camera app

Theyre not that common. Its good for small pests on the farm.
