Ted Heath was a man and politician who thought about the UK's future and place in the world and, rightly, saw that place as being part of Europe. Enoch Powell, by contrast, was a romantic imperialist and unrepentant nationalist who only looked backwards. His only legacy now is to be occasionally referenced by elderly "Enoch was right" racists.

Heath and Thatcher (Tory Libs) really pushed for EEC membership. Powell was more like the nationalist labourites of Hardcastle and Benn, but with more overtly racist views. Tories are US and EU suck-up, like New Labour... We need a new Conservative party, because the Tory Party is about as Conservative as a Liberal Luvvy La La Lander... Although Conservatism is a useless philosophy when you want change, as most Conservatives do now-a-days, to a time when Britain wasn't chock full of weird and violent minorities.
