Getting into The Surge 2 made me pay attention to them. Getting into Atlas Fallen just a few days ago made me into a fan. If anything Deck13 really knows how to make these two things; make a world that's fun to explore, and have a rock-solid combat mechanic and design that's rewarding to learn and master.
I played the base game on Steam about 6 months ago, and just redownloaded it when it became available on Xbox Game pass with the new update. My take on it so far is that it runs smoother, looks better (improved lighting), and certainly sounds less wooden when everyone speaks. I think it's a solid update on a game that is a lot of fun, if not mentally stimulating lol
I heard about it being re-done, there was a lot of waffle before actually getting into the game. I'm glad it was very snappy to start and appreciated it
This review gives me the impression that I just started watching a long standing series mid way through, as if I missed a big chunk of context that enforces a lot of your choice of dialogue and opinions. I just heard of this game/saw it was on sale and thought it looked pretty great. This video comes across as negative with a lot of hatred for some reason, that sounds more like disappointment? I need to keep searching for reviews, if I just listened to this one it's pushing me to ignore the game.
