Why Into the Nexus is a Disappointment
With the release of Into the Nexus for the PlayStation 3, it wraps up the future trilogy saga for Ratchet and Clank. While it is short and sweet there are parts of it that I am just not okay with. As both Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time show the true capabilities of Insomniac.

Why Future: Tools of Destruction Is Jarring
Honestly, I've never understood why ACIT is so liked. It's a good game, no doubt, but it's the furthest from the original Ps2 titles of any of the future games. It's the most pixar esc with its design, it has the least interesting music, it's story is so far away from the core of Ratchet and Clank and it further pushed the series towards being a completely different game series.
The only disappointment for me was the framerate, I Love the game otherwise. Short and sweet
I absolutely agree that Nintendo could (AND SHOULD) hire voice actors and have fully voiced cutscenes. But I believe that the reason they don't is because not enough people complain about it, so they've become complacent. They care more about profit than production quality, so they just stick to the status quo
9:57 Me when I listen to David Bergeaud music from R&C1
After 18 years, this is still my #1 favorite R&C game. I've played every mainline game in the series, and this one is still my favorite (however UYA, ACiT, and Rift Apart are all extremely close contenders). The only issues I have with this game are the space battles and the music, they're both kinda bland for the most part. And I do agree that the writing isn't as witty as the previous games, but the story and characters are very enjoyable to me, and I appreciate the more serious tone of the game
I just finished this combat wasn’t great and they leaned into the friendship crap to much in the story.
I feel like that game was okay, but i Liked Pumpkin Jack way more in fact i loved that game
Quest for booty helps make me appreciate this game more though
seems like a mix of tales of games with suikoden style character recruitment
The reality is people don't actually want shorter smaller experiences (even at an appropriate price). Imagine if Jak & Daxter had an ITN level game after 15+ years, it'd be better than nothing sure but people deep down always want this big thing and you'd have people complaining about it. Back to RaC though this ties into some fans whining they have to wait so long for a follow up to RA without considering modern game development pipelines, dev burnout and other priorities in general.
Its not bad actually… It is a great conclusion to the “Future” saga. It felt like Ratchet and Clank focused game again unlike from the previous games where they’re separated from the end of Tools of Destruction to them reuniting in A Crack in Time. It could have been more to it. ITN felt like a mix of TOD and ACIT for me. Overall, to rank the Future games only: 1st - A Crack in Time 2nd - Tools of Destruction 3rd - Into the Nexus 4th - Quest for Booty
Yeah i hate stat increase thing most rpgs do, it just serves a sort of filler for real upgrades/gameplay change if any.
Currently on sale for $15 so I'll give it a try.
I played it when it first came out, and loved it. I'm replaying it again now, and still love it.
Uhhhh I feel like Rinwell and Dohalim were very involved in the final act. Rinwell had the strongest connection to astral energy and she was the party's pseudo translator whenever they came into contact with the will of the astral energy. Dohalim served as the groups guide through Lenegis and he was front and center for parsing through the exposition dumbs during the final hours. I can agree that Law and Kisara were a bit background for the final third of the game tho.
I bought this on sale hoping it would be like FF5. Orpheus kicked my backside so hard that I decided it wasn't worth my time.
Am I the only one who instantly recognized Tara Strong as the voice actor for Raven?
this game is fucking 10/10 idgaf this game is amazing
im sorry i loved this game. the music is amazing. sure the combat could be more. but its still an amazing game. the legions was the best thing about the game
I just saw the game on a TikTok and decided to look it up didn’t know you made a video on this game lol
Just never caught my attention looks too generic
I actually had so much fun playing quest for booty
I wish they would remaster this game or bring it to the psn so I could play it again
My favorite Hack and slash ever combat wise
I heavily disagree on multiple points. For one, maybe I'm weird, but I really like how these boss fights felt like brick walls. They feel like giant behemoths, the best of the best, especially the lords. They hit hard and take a lot to bring down. Whenever I fight a boss it really feels like it takes everything I've got and then some and thats exactly how I want my boss fights in these games. With the the story, I actually loved the final half. Lenegis was a bit annoying but afterwards it was great. It went from silly game about being good to "what the FUCK" and I loved it. Literally "a very hungry genetically modified caterpillar. SEVEN NUCLEAR MISSLES." And personally I loved all the characters. Law is fun and funny, Dohalim is my favorite, Rinwell. Eh she's meh. Kisara only felt a little boring because she had her shit together better than the others. But over all I adore this game.
The ost is awesome. I love all of Chikayo Fukuda's work (yes, even the naruto stuff).
I remember I picked up this game because of how sick the cover was and that it was done by capcom (I was a Devil May Cry fan at the time), this was back then gamestation stores were still around in the UK! I loved this game!
Beat it recently. Very underwhelming. Bad boss design, very expensive economy, story falls off in the 2nd half, no hitstun etc. Only played Berseria and this this far and while I had my gripes with the Berseria the more I played the more I liked it and left very satisfied. Arise was the complete opposite.
There's games series that start out with a very ambitious first game then has sequels with a lot of features cut out, then there's game series where the first game starts simple and sweat and has sequels which just keep adding new content while still keeping the spirit of the original and this was pretty much that, sadly though the third game did get rushed and was less polished.
I first played the trilogy in 2023 but was hesitant to play this one since it seemed to be different, I finally played it mid 2024 and actually overall enjoyed it.
The ost of this game is fuking amazing
I'm really not sure, I just finished this one but have kind of mixed feelings, sure I liked it more than ToD and maybe UYA, but the first two games plus Deadlocked I enjoyed much more.
This game is excellent, its true Rachet and Clank and left its stamp of positive changes like Going Commando did before it
The problem with BDII is it just has none of the charm and whimsy of the first two. The characters are flat and the combat system whilst on the surface appears to be better is far worse. The counters and requirement to godspeed strike spam everything is so lame. It was a huge downgrade from BD1 and BS
I found the point of "Not being able to select the map til scenario 9" and "there's no legit way of found healing items" very forced. Like yeah, you could try different legions for each stage and being stuck in one specific point, but it's not that dramatic. After all the games IA knows when you are running short in healings and start to spam it. Also you could always reset the stage and save up some healing items. Now, til that point almost all bosses could be defeated with no legion at all. I did a "chaos" run once (no legion). And it was easy once you've been defeated at least 3 times by the boss.
Best ratchet game. R&C2 is a honker
It's final fantasy 10
I fucking loved this game. Over 200 on and I have all items, dlc and everything unlocked. Loved it
Honestly just like the character design of all the characters in this game. And the combat is cool.
Capcom, please, remake (or remaster) this game! 🙏
No one cares abt ur opinion
Chaos Legion was awesome! Unearthly force shall serve and obey thee 'tis named Chaos Legion
I do not.
Why?
I love platforming too much tho, luckily in rift apart you can do really fluid motions like phantom dodges while connecting into swing shots and wall runs etc. the devs went in the right direction luckily since deadlocked
Bro said cakulated. That sounds like something kamala might do 😅
Genuinely tied with my fav game of all time with KH2 I still play through it once a year
We talking the OG KH2?
Good video
I'm pretty biased but, I honestly enjoyed Size Matters more than Up Your Arsenal
That is fair.
I love Dr. Nefarious.
